I'll give you my predictions for 2007. White Sox win the AL Central, and that is the 3rd time out of 4 years. 2004 sets a new standard for Chicago White Sox baseball, and because of this year, there is a growing excitement for White Sox baseball. Each year more and more fans look forward to White Sox baseball. By 2006, the Cubs-White Sox rivalry and the Twins-White Sox rivalry have become so vicious that JR, for 1 game of the Cubs series and 3 games of the Twins series, sells standing room tickets only, and sets USCF attendance records by getting 60,000+ into the stadium. Loaiza is no longer with the team, but KW proves himself right by getting Scott Schoenweis in that it was a huge steal, and Scho is one of the better lefty starters in the game. Garland has finally matured and has transformed from the Judy Garland, almost finesse pitcher that he is now into a power-sinkerballer, and he becomes one of the more dominant starters in the game. Wright has proven that moving to the bullpen was a great move and he is one of the best relievers in the game with some of the most wicked-nasty stuff around. The White Sox have made a splash in free agency, signing Nomar Garciaparra(this after the 2005 season, as Boston offers him arbitration, he puts it aside, looks for a better offer, and comes back for 2005...much like Kevin Millwood in Philadelphia). Willie Harris has finally developed and is a very solid leadoff hitter. Frank Thomas is on the last legs, but by 2007, has hit home run #500, and is going towards 525 and looks to eclipse 550 by 2008, when he plans to retire. We have lost Carlos Lee(via trade along with Aaron Rowand, however, we saw Kip Wells in a White Sox uniform again), but Joe Borchard has finally shortened his swing just enough and is the lefty hitter the White Sox needed for the middle of their lineup. Juan Uribe, after some heroics in the 2004 playoffs, struggled in 2005, but found a great living as a utility player and is making a good amount of money doing that. Jeremy Reed is doing well as the White Sox #2 hitter, like many thought he would, and he is often compared to John Olerud, without the metal plate in his head. Olivo is a solid hitter, and is shutting down team's baserunning left and right...basically, no one runs on him. Also, in a blockbuster deal, the White Sox sent several prospects, including Jon Rauch, Neal Cotts, and a nasty contract in Paul Konerko to Colorado for Todd Helton(who hate to give up Helton, but need to save some money, so they get his albatross of a contract out of Colorado). Basically, the rotation looks something like this: Wells, Buehrle, Garland, Scho, and Honel, and the lineup looks similar to this: Harris 2B Reed CF Garciaparra SS Helton 1B Maggs RF Borchard LF Thomas DH Crede 3B Olivo C OK, this is quite far-fetched, and is very unlikely...but you know what...it would happen.

You mean.... HOW MUCH DO WE HAVE TO DONATE CHEAT? Am I right?

For most I do not recall. However, 9/11 I do remember very vividly. I was in 8th grade, I was walking to my second period History class, and the TV was on. There it was on TV. I also recall that day in football practice looking up at the sky and seeing a plane fly over head. That was crazy as hell because it was the last time I would see a plane fly for like 2 or 3 weeks. I also remember that there was a whole week of no sports, and really, that bummed me out.

Who knows how it's going to work out. I've just always been under the philosophy that you draft someone you can actually use in that given year. McGahee had very little PT, if any at all, this year. There were many others they could have drafted that would have been put to better use. It coudl be a steal, but it may not be. I have to think that Rosenhaus had something to do with him going in the first round. Really, he should have probably been drafted around the 2nd round.

9 of 16 Sweet 16 teams(I think St. Louis killed everyone...I have only Georgia Tech alive), however, FWIW, I still have all of my Final Four teams(GA Tech, OK State, Duke, and UConn, and I am feeling real good about 3 of the 4, with Georgia Tech being the only one I'm a little uneasy about).

Who's going to watch the Twins?
witesoxfan replied to moochpuppy's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I assume I still get the Twins in North Dakota. Damn, sorry man...that's the s***s. If you have some high-speed internet and if MLB is doing their MLB.lTV thing again(or whatever the hell it was called where they broadcast almost every game on a live stream), I'd just get that. -
Well everyone knows that's me.
-
You're not the only one. Just politely smile.
-
I think they always open at home.
-
They can call me up. I'm ready.
-
That would be the s***s if they lost. That's why I am going to be so happy when they win. I know it's Duke-Illinois(like I haven't figured that out hanging around on the board), so I like Duke in that one, and I think it's Pitt-OK State, and I gotta like OK State over Pitt in that one. Dammit, I was so hoping for a Wiscy upset over Pitt with Harris just blowing up for a huge game. Oh well. Go OK State.

League #2 official thread

CubsSuck...I'd be interested in Sexson, however, I am not interested in giving up Scott Rolen. I do have Dmitri Young who qualifies as a 3Bman, though him straight up for Sexson would be silly. I am definately willing to work out a deal if you are willing to. I'm also willing to give up Sheets, Finley, Guillen(and I supposed Mora and Wilson too, but they aren't too incredibly good anyways), along with Hawegawa and Marte. If not...forget I ever said anything. -
You apparently chose that wisely atleast. I'm still in solid shape though. I believe that I could still get 160 points though. Of course, if OK state and Duke lose next week, I think everyone knows what happens to my bracket.

*cough...copycat....cough*

What kind of idiot would go to a baseball game? I mean, you could be seriously hurt, even killed!
-
I'm just confident this time...and kind of goofing around too. Last year....that was dumb. I think we can all collectively blame Jose Paniagua on that one. Maybe BeGood too(since he took Soxtalk off for lent we can talk smack about him, can't we? )
-
Maybe I'm not in as much s*** as I thought. All 4 of my final four teams are still available, and 3 of the 4 have looked good so far(Duke, UConn, and OK state), and Georgia Tech seems to be able to just pull s*** out of their ass. Let's hope it continues.
-
You wanted upsets, you got some more today. f***ing UAB...that's the third elite 8 team I've lost so far. Something tells me I won't be first much longer.
-
I believe Lieber is out for atleast a little bit, so I think someone like Jorge DePaula or Bret Prinz may be used.
-
I've known Prior's been down...he'll miss, what, one start? Big deal. Mercker being down, I assume he's the 11th man on that staff, so he's no big loss. I have not seen where Remlinger is down. How did he get hurt? Which perfectly explains why Dusty was 5 outs away from going to the World Series last year. If you knew how to read, you'd realize I said he'd be an ace on bad teams(anyone would admit that he would be the ace of a team like the Tigers or the Devil Rays, and quite possibly the Brewers even with Ben Sheets). Yeah they are good, so are the Cubs, and I think the Cubs are better. I did not mention that Corey Patterson is back, and he will probably put up .280 30 80 30 SB numbers, and that's just a little better then Lofton. Also, Sosa should hit more then 40 homers this year, assuming he doesn't get hurt or is not caught cheating again. The Cardinals will probably be very good as well. I just think the Cubs will be that much better. I can't help but see good things happening to the Cubs, and it's not something I like to see. However, I also see good things for the Sox as well, and Ozzie Guillen will do what Tony Pena could not accomplish last year with the Royals.

You are guessing right. Man that was a dumb pick.
-
Jarrett f***ing Jack...what a huge steal. And GA Tech beats BC 57-54. Phew!
-
Damn, wish I had listened to Spiff.
