MVP Baseball 2004
They will. I'm pretty sure it is going to be called something to the extent of ESPN Major League Baseball, or something to the extent.

League #2 official thread
Just to add to the trade discussion... If someone wants a little more depth offensively, and is willing to give up an offensive stud, I'm game. Guillen, Young, and Hidalgo are all available, and if I'm getting a 1Bman in return, Ortiz is too. Also, if absolutely needed, Marte and Hasegawa could possibly be worked into the equation.

Dodgers prized prospect Greg Miller
If the right offer came up for a hitter, I'm sure they would include Jackson.

League #2: Who had the best draft?
Ugeuth Urbina? Come on. We all get A's, unless you're not happy with your draft, in which case, you get an F. Is that fair?

They still have Jackson and Hanrahan though too.

Urbina Wants to Pitch For the White Sox
I'd take him in a heartbeat. If we have a pen of Koch, Urbina, Marte, Politte, Shingo, and Wunsch, and the others that w have(mainly Munoz, Grilli, Wright, Rauch, etc) in the minors, and we would be in very, very good shape. However, I only do that if we can get him for right around $2 mill. If he doesn't budge, let the greedy(proud if you want to call it that) bastard sit out until he gets a fair offer.

Guide to Arizona
I don't. If you made $5 mill a year, a lot of people would hate you like that too.

Fantasy Baseball Trades
The worst trade I ever made is one that is very vivid in my mind, and still haunts me to this day. Two years ago, Tejada's MVP season, I had him for the first half of the year, and some guy had Lowell, and offered him to me. At the time, it looked like a very even deal. I think they both had about 17 homers, both about 60 RBI, and I believe Lowell had a higher average as well, but the thing that made the deal for me was the fact that Lowell had about 25 or 30 doubles or so, and he was destroying Tejada in that category, and doubles were a category in the league. So I made the deal. Then Tejada went on to go on a complete rampage. Lowell did not. Off the top of my head, I cannot recall one that I really ripped someone off in.

SS2k4....would you be, at all, willing to trade Tejada? I would obviously include Berroa, and we'd work out the deal from there, but I better find out if you're willing first. Otherwise, sorry, but I see no deal. I'm happy with every one of my positions, including SS, however, I feel I could upgrade at SS.

Tennessee/NYJets Trade
There are several guys who would be mid to late first rounders in almost any other year but are 2nd round picks this year because of the depth, and then Mike Williams adds to that craziness by entering the NFL draft as well. Utter insanity. I'm hoping the Bills can get Drew Henson but try to convince Houston into taking a 2005 2nd rounder rather then this year's 2nd rounder, because they could get a serious steal by drafting like a (Reggie) Williams, Clayton, Evans, Jenkins, or even Woods if he goes undrafted. I can almost guarantee that 3 or 4, possibly even all 5, would be almost guaranteed first rounders any other year but this year, where they could drop to the mid-2nd round.

SoxTalk Rolling Mock Draft (pick #28)
I think Rashaun Woods has done enough to move himself into the first round. IMO, he's better then Evans, Jenkins, and Clayton.

NBA Draft Goss
That would be insane if the Bulls could pull that off. Can you imagine Kobe in the Eastern Conference?

IU's coach Davis given the kiss of death
Probably one of the better coaches from a mid-major(didn't Illinois's coach come from a mid-major? He only led them to their first outright regular season conference title since the 50s...there is always someone decent available)

Tennessee/NYJets Trade
He had a very good combine. Ran faster then many thought he would run(I think they thought he would run a 4.65 or so, and he ran about 4.50), and I also think he's increased his strength a little bit. Good size(about 6'2'', 205), goes over the middle...he could be very good. In fact, Scott Wright, who runs NFL Draft Countdown initially had him ranked about 7th or 8th, maybe even lower, but has him in the top 5 receivers now, above Michael Clayton(LSU), Lee Evans(WISC), and Michael Jenkins(Ohio St.). He is moving up quickly, and quite honestly, I could see him sneaking into the late first round, especially if New England moves up.

They get Troupe, a nice big target to replace Frank Wychek. I think that's the 3rd time I've voted Troupe.

#3 Spot in Lineup
I've said several times that I feel that the best lineup the White Sox could put out would have Lee batting 2nd, but more importantly, Maggs batting 3rd and Thomas cleanup. Where Lee bats is really irrelevant...he could bat 2nd, 5th, 6th, or 7th, and in either of those 4 spots, he'd be productive...however, I want Maggs batting 3rd because he has had a higher average then Frank has and drives in more runs then Frank. He has a little speed to steal some bases and stretch a double into a triple now and then, along with power. He can be a .320 35 130 guy, and I want a .320 35 130 guy batting 3rd for me. Thomas has publicly said that he is going for homers, and if he truly does, I want the biggest homer threat we have to hit cleanup. If everything goes right this year, he will hit 45 or so homers, and I would rather have those 45 homers coming after Maggs bats then before, thus not limiting Maggs RBI chances. Either way will probably work, I would just prefer Maggs batting 3rd and Thomas cleanup, however, if that will not work for personal reasons( ), then Thomas should bat 3rd and Maggs cleanup.

NCAA hoops thread
They're still 26-1 overall along with being in a big-time conference, even with the conference having a down year overall. They lost 1 game in conference play. They are a #1 seed. Anyways, saw that my Orangemen got another good win...beat #4 Pitt the other day and now they beat #8 UConn. Nice to see. I didn't expect them to finish strong with Edelin apparently being out for the year with his problems, but they are. G-mac and Warrick are stepping it up big-time and leading by example...I think they scored like 43 of the 67 points, and Forth had a nice game as well putting in 14 with 13 boards. Anyway they can win is fine by me. They seem to be getting it together at the right time.

6 High schoolers apply for NFL Draft
They won't allow them to be drafted, and it doesn't even matter, because no team is stupid enough to take them anyways.

Marvin Bernard Calf Injury
If Bernard isn't healthy, I expect Valenzuela to get the 4th OF spot. Borchard is considered a top prospect(top 10 in the organization still), so they will want to see if he can develop into a good power hitter, and Reed absolutely will not be a 4th OFer with us, leaving us with basically no other choice then Valenzuela. Part of me hopes Valenzuela gets it. I would love to see what he can do at the major league level, even if it is just as a 4th OFer.
