  1. End of the Twins 6th....still 2-1. Some dickhead Yankee fan picked up a Mientkiewicz double. Why don't they put up fences just high enough so that you can't grab a ball like that?
  2. I would't mind having it be a 4-game series and having it be split 2-2. If I had to choose 1....it'd be the Royals....because they can't keep this up much longer.
  3. End of 5 in NY...Yanks up 2-1 on the Twinkies
  4. JM said that he is going to pitch Colon and Buehrle as much as possible in the first 50 games or so. Why not....send your two best pitchers out there AMAP.
  5. Ventura K's on 3 pitches....then Mondesi takes him deep. Bottom of 5....2 outs....2-1 Yankees
  6. Posada ties it at 1 with a solo dinger. Still in the bottom of the 5th....1 out.
  7. Twins just stranded 3....got the bases loaded with 1 out....Jones hit a little tapper in front of home....Mussina fielded and got the force at home. Guzman grounded to 2nd, inning over. After 4 1/2, still 1-0 Twinks.
  8. You want me to update the Twinkies and Yanks?
  9. garland...as crappy as he has pitched...has managed to limit the damage...he has kept us in the game...if he can give us 3 maybe 4 innings and give up no more than one run we could get him a W yet It seems like another former Cubs gem could do that pretty well too. Gee, I wonder who that could be???
  10. it means there is great value hitting ahead of thomas - ordonez and konerko for a dead red fastball hitter And it could and probably should be higher than that even...the baseball gods for some reason do not like Jose early in the game. They don't let his bullets fall in there. Late in the game...it seems like every time he goes up he's hitting the ball somewhere hard. He is a stud....plain and simple.
  11. A 33 MPH fastball? My grandma can throw that fast!
  12. I could say something about Durham right here....but I'll pass on the opportunity I will always wish we still had Ray Ray and thats coming from one of Jimenez's biggest fans. He could look like one of the best....and he could look like one of the worst. The only guy that could get into slumps defensively too. But man could he turn a DP.
  13. I could say something about Durham right here....but I'll pass on the opportunity
  14. Goddamn....that's White Sox baseball for you
  15. Garland started out slowly last year too. Something like an 8.00 ERA in April....or something very high....atleast in the 6.00s. I think Marte was the one with an ERA of 8.00 in April.
  16. Glover is the only guy in the bullpen that can go more than an inning....and he can go 3 or 4 at a time if necessary. Stewart does fall into the category now though. We have 2 long relievers....and there is nothing wrong with that.
  17. I'd love to have him on the Sox. However, he is a prick and is on the Twins. I'd assume that's why so many people hate him....and wouldn't want him on the Sox.
  18. I agree 100%. As do I. Keith has always been one of my favorite pitchers....and always will be. He can be unhappy...and still do a helluva job.
  19. I think Freddy Garcia, Vincente Padilla or even Kip Wells are "for real". Prior effortlessly dominating in his first year is a bit better than that. Kipper's 7 walks in 4 inning last night were for real as well
  20. That is a terrible deal. We're giving up a better all-around hitter in Thomas, bringing in a bigger ego than Thomas has, bringing in a worse pitcher than Colon, and then giving up 2 decent minor leaguers as well. We're a team that doesn't K much....and I'm happy about that. I would never ever wanna be on the bad end of Osuna striking out SamME to end the game and than see Osuna pump his fist. I'd get pissed off. And if we got off to a 25-35 start or something....Sosa would be giving up already. He's worse defensively than Maggs....he's got a terribly inaccurate arm, and all he does is hop, skip, stutter step, and blow kisses to the camera. I'd be happy with a .275 30 100 season from Frank instead of having ShamME So-So.
  21. No, Nolan Ryan was a freak of nature. McDowel (threw 270 pitches one fine game) was a greak of nature. Colon is tough but his mechanics are lousy and by modern standards 140 pitches a game is insane. Holy s***....270? What the f*** is up with that? That is a s***load of pitches. And I thought 150 was a lot....or maybe it is. I don't even know anymore. Colon's mechanics are s***ty....I'll second that.
  22. Which is exactly why he is batting 3rd and Maggs batting 4th. Maggs is a guy that doesn't walk a lot....but he can hit the hell out of a ball. He drives in a lot of runs....and gets a ton of extra base hits. Even if Frank doesn't score on a Magglio double(and it would depend on where it is hit), you'll then have Paully and Carlos right there. If Valentin gets on ahead of Thomas.....we have atleast 1 run in, and all Paully needs to do is hit a flyball to the OF and we have 2 runs in....and possibly more if Maggs moves up to 3rd and Carlos gets a hit. Besides that....Thomas has requested that he hit in the #3 spot. He really is not comfortable hitting cleanup. I believe that in one All-Star game, Ken Jr voluntarily moved to the cleanup spot for Frank could be in his spot....and Griffey had been a beast that year at the plate and was the #3 hitter for Seattle. He wanted Frank comfortable. With Frank as big as he is....I wouldn't wanna piss him off either.
  23. Let's hope they get going. They are both looking like s*** up there.
  24. Why dont we send Bartolo back in? Im not watching the game so I dont know if he has his best stuff today but he had a good outting... Because he's at like 110 pitches or so(I assume). Colon is a freak of nature that can throw 140 pitches if necessary....but you do not overwork a pitcher, especially when it is freezing ass cold out there....and he's wearing short-sleeves.
