Though the game isn't over....I thought I'd say it anyways. We just got swept by the f***ing Royals. How is that for a vent?

Starting pitching, IMHO, hasn't been bad the first two losses..... a bright spot if you need to find one. But, as Showtime said, when the hell is the offense going to wake up? all right handed hitters..absolutely no speed..might never wake up Baggs....last year, the only thing the A's had different than us was a left-handed hitter in the middle of the lineup(and Durham at the deadline)...and we might have that by the deadline with Lee being dealt...and in my mind, possibly Konerko as well. I wouldn't say it's a fire-sale....but that kind of package could bring in an elite pitcher....and if Garland pitches well this year, and he is your #4 in the postseason....than that is a hell of an advantage for you. If the opposition chooses to use their ace on 3-days rest...then you have a fully-rested Garland going against that pitcher, and then a full rested ace for you going against their #2 going on 3-days rest. I'm just not sure where we would trade those guys for an elite pitcher....the only place I can think of that would be able to find room for those two is Baltimore...and the only pitcher I want from them is Rodrigo Lopez....and I wouldn't give them more than Konerko for him. Maybe we then trade Lee for Shannon Stewart in Toronto....and he leads off for us for the rest of the year....and if necessary, we use Borchard in CF instead of Rowand. That'd be a safety precaution though. A lineup of Stewart, Valentin, Thomas, Maggs, Daubach, Crede, Rowand, Olivo, Miles wouldn't be that bad....it breaks up the righties....and gives us more speed in Stewart and Miles....and if Borchard comes up to start in CF....then I guess he'd be cleanup for 7th....dependant upon how well he hits. I just hope they get it figured out real f***ing quick. I'm getting too damn anxious. We haven't lost these two games because of what you said....we lost it because we couldn't hit the damn ball.

from what i understand, (my sox friend told me) the next phase of the remodeling in the off season were supposed to see new things done to the upper deck and a homerun porch over by left field..... In left-field? I'd figure it would be in right-field. Whatever works....it works for me.

most red sox fans ive talked to arnt to excited about this season...feel they are a little weaker than in years past.. I wouldn't have guessed that myself.

Why can't mine? I predicted us to go 173-0.....and now I'm already off 2 f***ing games!

Oh geezus. If we had won today we'd be 1-1. We're 0-2 and it's "off with their heads!". So we end up 160-2. I hate to see if we have a 3 game losing streak later in the season. That's why we're Sox fans....we get pissed when we are guaranteed a good product and we are shown no signs of a good product. Let's hope they can get their heads out of their asses real soon. I gotta feeling that all we will need to get going will be a huge ass kicking of the other team....whether it be like us physically kicking the s*** out of the other team.....or us just blowing them out like 17-6 or something like that in a game. We're like a big f***ing boulder....and all we need is a little push to get us started. Someone guaranteed us something..??? Was that mailed out with the season tickets this year...? Hmm.. mine must have gotten lost And don't play that "that's why we're Sox fans" crap. I've been there for THIRTY years. I agree about the boulder analogy. That's all these guys need. A little bit of confidence. It'll come tomorrow. Take that to the bank folks. I'm not talking about someone coming out and saying that we are guaranteed success....but when you make moves like the Sox did this past offseason....it sends a message to the fan base...IMO anyways....that says "We are going to win." When you start out 0-2....fans get pissed. Now why can't I play "that's why we're Sox fans"? It sounds so good! We've been through it all....except a World Series....and we should get it this year.

Again...why not bring in White? It is the second game of the year, and you gotta get him in at some time. And last year....once he got out of Colorado(thin air), he threw up a .82 ERA with St. Louis in the playoffs. Fast forward to this year....he is terrible in Arizona(thin air).....when he escaped that s*** and went to KC....where the air is not thin....he will pitch better. Given....he didn't exactly make a good pitch to Randa....but you can't expect that to happen. I thought Rick White was supposed to be the long reliever. That sure wasn't a long reliever spot. He pitches well in his first inning of work...and sucks ass every other inning after that. Glover is the long reliever/spot starter type...along with Josh Stewart in a week or so.

Why not put White in? I guess since he put up a .82 ERA last year with St. Louis, he suddenly sucks. He didn't bring Marte in until Ibanez came up....to get to the lefty-lefty matchup....that is smart managing. It's the error that cost us the game....so even though Manuel is a jackoff for having Graffy bunt 2-0, 3-1, and 3-2(which is the dumbest of all), Konerko should be taking the blame....if he catches the ball on that play, Randa's homer is a solo shot, and the White Sox go into the 9th tied up at 4. Blame Konerko.....if you wanna blame anyone that is. No marte can go up against righties too he should have pitched the entire inning and dont defend rick white he gives up way to many long balls. I realize that....but you work to get the lefty-lefty matchup.

Your point is not without merit. But..... having Gaffenino attempt to bunt with two strikes with a runner on first and nobody out is bad managing. Not to mention the fact that after the count went 2-0 Manuel should have told Gaffenino to wait until he throws a strike before attempting another bunt. Bunting on 2-0 when the pitcher can't find the plate and bunting with 2 strikes is the managers decision..... plain and simple. JM blew any chance the Sox had. I'd agree with that....fully. I also think RPS had it the right way as well...why the hell wouldn't Jose be up there? He bunts better, hits for more power, is a lefty, hits well when we need him to, and is a good fastball hitter. Given....only 2 of the 5 would have affected him had he bunted.....but if it came to a 3-2 count and Manuel pulled his head out of his ass and realized it was not a bunting situation at that time....then the other 3 come into play....and the bunting part goes out. I also learned the advantages of having 3 catchers...if that's what you wanna call it
-
Yeah, I second that

Today, the White Sox helped the Royals do something they haven't done since 1979. Whoop-dee-s***
-
Who the hell knows. With our management....they could give him a vote of confidence after an 0-10 start, and then if we came back and were 50-40 by the All-Star break, we'd probably fire him.

Yeah....I'd agree. What a dumbass
-
Yeah....that's the only thing I disagreed with. White's not even making $1 mill(I think like $775,000 or so) with an option for next year....if he blows ass this year....we simply don't pick up his option. Hell....we might not even pick up his option as it is. Why bother when you have help back Edwin Almonte for a couple years now? He was ready in 02...and was ready this past year. He'll be ready next year too....so I hope we see him then. Otherwise...it was a very good article. Nice job doub.

Except that Buehrle pitched a helluva game.... ....and lost
-
Sweet...I should do it
-
BTW....Howry's ERA for the season.... 54.01

119 or something like that. I forget, they just automatically renew mine, and typically something goes wrong and they end up giving it to me for free. 119....that's not too bad. That's less than a dollar a game....and that's just for White Sox games. I don't think they'll show all the Sox games....but that's fine. And then you get ASB 2004 free. That's the s***
-
That was harsh....and I fell for it. Dammit, I am gullable. I knew it seemed too good/bad to be true.
-
I have never liked CLee....and I hate Josh Paul. Other than that....no....I like everyone. I don't like the entire Cubs roster....except for Mark Bellhorn. I like a guy that can do what he does....hit for power and play all 4 infield positions adequately. If Tony G hit 20 homers and could play all 4 infield positions....he'd be playing everyday. Or maybe it is his name....Bellhorn. It's just kind of funny.

With the new CBA....it may very well end. Who knows I hope that in 2006....they just put a salary cap and a salary floor in....maybe $100 mill cap and a $50 mill floor. Kind of operate like the NFL. Man, that works great.
-
I wish I could get that...and then get ASB 2004 free. It costs a b****load though....anyone got any idea how much?
