  1. Well, the question begs to be asked because frankly, I don't see it. What do all the baseball analysts see in the goddamn Cubs? So their number 3 pitcher has drawn comparisons to Jesus Christ but that is because he arrived in Chicago only to walk across the waves of Lake Michigan. Kerry Wood is more likely to have his arm fall off or walk more batters then he K's each game he goes out. Matt Clement is as hot/cold as Jon Garland. One game he looks like Cy Young. The next outing he looks like Todd Ritchie. All the analysts expect a HUGE year from Zambrano even though he has yet to pitch a full ML season. And who is their number 5? Cruz? Gimme a break. Look at their bullpen. Alfonsixa is out. Who's gonna close? Sleepy Farnsworth who has proven he can't do the job? Rod "81 MPH fastball" Beck? Cub fans better hope their winning a few games come the 6th inning if Remlinger is going to be any use to them. Then there's the line-up. Moisty Alube is going to have to bat BEFORE ShamME in the line-up if they hope to have anyone on base for God's Gift to Chicago Baseball. Who's gonna protect ShamME? Patterson? Chop Suey? AGon? Hill? Karros? IMHO, the Cubs will be lucky to finish in front of the goddamn Brewers let alone be the 2003 version of the Angels. Do the analysts really think Dusty Baker is going to have that much of an impact on this team? Dusty Baker is destined to fail just like Kimm, Baylor, and Riggleman did. Dusty won't be the same Baker after his Cub stint. On paper, this team is pathetic. How does this translate to postseason glory????? Great analysis killa....I loved it and was actually laughing at parts because it truly is pathetic. Also...if you take a look at Garland's 2001 season and Zambrano's 2002 season....you'll see a s***load of things that are almost exactly identical.
  2. Ugh. I'll hope he was just kidding. Sadly.. probably not. Well except for Jessica (and she's married anyway). The other 2 are just plain nasty (behavior, not specifically looks)! I wouldn't exactly call them nasty....even their behavior isn't nasty. Their job to society is to make s***ty music so we can put it on mute and watch them dance around in kinky-ass clothes, right before we go to bed, so we can have sweet dreams instead of dreaming about real scary s***. Besides.....Britney probably doesn't have STDs....and neither does Jessica Simpson. Those two both f*** big-time entertainment guys. As for Aguilera....I'm sure her second job is working her local corner. I wouldn't get near her....but she's hot as hell. Jessica is married. I have no doubt she's "clean" Brittney IS in fact a whore (saw with my own eyes her partying in Vegas and Miami and it was NASTY!!). Also, she was just screwing Fred Durst - who has (by his own admission) screwed anything that walks. Christina.. in all honesty I bet she's had less partners than Brittney. She's more of an actress, IMO. Hey....maybe he wanted to f*** Simpson and then he would just watch Britney and Christina fondle each other while he f***ed Simpson.
  3. Tattoos aren't that bad.....I've definately considered getting one or two. I wouldn't like get it on my forearm or my calf....maybe up on my shoulder or my bicep, or maybe my back....I'm not sure. I also know that if I ever get anything pierced....it will be 1 ear....nothing big. I won't be getting my nose or my eyelid or my bellybutton or my nipples or anything like that pierced....that's just gross as hell.

  5. Mays went like 17-11 with a 3.17 ERA in 01.....he did well against other teams as well then too. Kinney was shipped to Milwaukee....but I agree on Lohse. People constantly say that Garland and Wright are unproven....yet, seem to think that Lohse is great already.....when in reality, he's just as proven as Garland and Wright.
  6. The only thing my counselors have ever really done for me is help me with me schedule....I got my schedule changed, and then I got registered....and that's it. I remember in grade school when we'd have the counselor come to the classroom and talk to us about stuff...like harassment and teasing and stuff like that. I wish I was a junior high tech ed teacher.....because when I was in Jr High...I swear the only thing my teacher did was play games and look at porn. I never saw him do that....but both of them(because there were two teaching two classes....the same class, just 1 class room)....were on their computers all frickin class. I'd ask one for help, and he'd say look in the book....so I'd ask the other one, and he'd say ask your teacher. And they were both assholes(if you couldn't already tell). Jr high sucked...high school's a frickin utopia compared to Jr high.

    Thanks apu

This is the difference between WSI and Soxtalk/Soxnet right here....or so I understand it. This is a much more fan friendly board....we respect each other's opinions and (usually) never verbally attack anyone. As for the war...I guess I'm for it. I want Saddam and his Iraqi regime stopped....and hopefully, something can be done and we can help Iraq get to a time of prosperity there. I really have no opinion on any of this though....not that strong politically.
  8. I don't appreciate it though....time flew by when you weren't doing it. STOP DOING IT NOW!!!
  9. They already have a stupid-ass mascot - a dirty bum with new teeth and an old grimy Cub uniform who chirps "WOO" in between every word...that jackass... I forgot about Ronnie Woo-Woo.
  10. Maybe it's not the bias.....because there is no bias....you are right....and I was wrong However....it was the half-truths that pissed me off, or him leaving out key details. Or maybe it was just because he was a dumbass and said that the Twins got unlucky last year....being the worst half-truth in the entire thing. He said they got unlucky because their starters went down, but doesn't let the world know that they got lucky because two unprovens got very lucky and won them some ballgames and pitched well in Radke, Milton, and Mays's absences. They also got very lucky that their bullpen, specifially LaTroy Hawkins, pitched very well....Hawkins threw up a 2.14 ERA and a WHIP somewhere around 1.00 a year after he put up an ERA of 5.97 and a WHIP of 1.96. Guardado had a career year....Fiore had a career year....Jackson pitched lights out until his injury....Romero broke through. Another half-truth was him not mentioning that the White Sox also had two very young pitchers win atleast 12 games(Garland winning 12, and Wright winning 14) in their first full year in starting. He sugar-coated the article to make it sound like the Twins can do no wrong.....when that is very untrue.
  11. Actually....I'd say it is a 50-50 split on Lee....I personally like having a stronger defense....and I'd rather put Borchard in LF than Lee...but it Lee is moved out of LF....it is either to the DH or out of the organization....and if he is moved to DH....than Thomas is gone(sad but true). If we could get Valentin for about $4 mill a year or so....I'd be all for it. Also....assuming Colon has a good year....I'd try to sign him....but not too long. Maybe 3-years with an option for the 4th, at like $9 mill a year. With his s***ty mechanics....it's not a matter of if, but when he gets injured. Maybe it will be this year, maybe next year....maybe 15 years from now when he is throwing batting practice for his son....who knows. There is risk involved though. Rowand may be the starter in CF until Webster is ready....or Reed....and then Webster. It all depends. Jimenez will probably play 2B....but Miles could as well. I don't think Harris will....he's not having that great of a spring, and that will hurt his chances.
  12. Our offense is better than theirs and is probably the best in the league(atleast in the top 2 or 3), and our bullpen is deeper as well. Also....one thing I forgot to mention....in one of the two parts, he mentions that Kyle Lohse winning 13 games in his first full season as a starter is impressive....nice analysis Ken....also, way to be ignorant and forget that Wright and Garland won a combined 26 games....which is an average of 13 wins each. Given, Wright won 14 and Garland won 12....but who gives a s***? Having 1 starter on a team win 13 games in his first full season is not as impressive as having 2 starters on the same team win 12 and 14 games respectively in their first full seasons as starting....and having 3 in 2 years do the exact same thing(Buehrle won 16 in 01 though....and had an ERA below 3.30). Rosenthal doesn't know how to analyze fairly at this point in time. His obvious bias towards the Twins is showing. Also....if he wants to compare a team to the Angels....look at the White Sox. The Sox have the same type of leadoff hitter(a guy who just wants to get on base, but isn't incredibly fast), a veteran hitter who has struggled in the past year(Salmon had a frickin terrible year in 01....and then comes back and puts up .280 22 90 or so....if Thomas can put up .315 30 110....a shadow of some of his former stats....than it would be almost the exact same as Salmon)....both have good young cleanup hitters who play solid defense and drive in a boatload of runs.....both have a player that won the Big League challenge going into the year....both have a good lefty with good stuff....both brought in a RH starter who has been on winning teams in the past....both have a closer who throws hard as hell....both have a catcher who plays good defense and has a cannon for an arm....both have a CF who hustles his ass off all the time....that's more than what the Twins can be compared to the Angels for. Ken Rosenthal is not doing that great of a job....and he didn't on this article either.
  13. It's a little early for anyone to be making World Series predictions....but if you did....a smart choice would be a favorite(Arizona, New York, Oakland....maybe SF again....something like that).....yet, he picks the Twins. What a dumbass. link 1 link 2 I just put the stupidest quote of them all in there....but there were other dumb things he talked about. How the Twins apparently didn't get lucky at all last year....their starters went down, and that was unlucky....and that's true, but what he doesn't mention is how lucky the Twins got that Johan Santana stepped up and became a dominant starter for the second half....how Kyle Lohse stepped up and pitched huge....how Matt Kinney had a big win or two in there....how Juan Rincon came out of nowhere....and how Rick Reed's arm managed to somehow, some way stay on and throw up 15 wins. He also failed to mention how LaTroy Hawkins had a career year(putting up like a 2.14 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP, a year after having a 5.97 ERA and a 1.96 WHIP), how Eddie Guardado had a career year, how JC Romero had a career year(though I think it was more a breakthrough year than anything), and how at the end of the year their bullpen, which had carried them to that point along with good timely hitting and stellar defense, started to wear down and started to fail from being WAY overworked. They also replaced Mike Jackson with Mike Fetters.....and I don't know how to put that one. Jackson is a more effective pitcher, but less durable. Anyways....he's also failing to mention that somehow, their platoon in RF managed to hit about .315 with 25 homers and 100 RBI. The way he speaks in half-truths pisses me off....and I'll never take anything he ever says seriously again. It really is a terrible article, and when I opened the second part(which was really the first part for me, because I opened it first), and I saw that he said the Twins didn't get lucky....I knew it was a s***ty article. Anyone who says that the Twins didn't get lucky is truly an idiot.
  14. So I take it that Streets would look good in Miami aqua green and orange?
  15. Hey....that won't matter after this year....5th time's the charm....if they get there. And it's not like the Dolphins have a good history or anything!
  16. It looks that way, the only question is can the management brain trust keep it together. That's the kind of outfield every team dreams about. You can't go wrong with that threat of both an offensive juggernaut and a defensive gem. Which is exactly the reason the Twins OF scares the s*** out of me. Jones is a decent bat out of LF(low OBP, but decent power), but has awesome range and a good arm....Hunter is a stud all around....a 5-tool player(and he is really the only guy in the majors who is a true 5-tool player right now)....and their 3-headed monster of Kielty, Mohr and Cuddyer in RF could hit .300 40 120.....that's scary.
  17. Not much to say...other than it's good. I guess it is nice to get some recognition from someone outside of Chicago....namely, a guy from CNNSI. Link
  18. Of course, by this year's Angels, they meant that they were going to start a stupid-ass mascot that would send three-quarters of America into hysteria(though the Rally Monkey was created a few years back), and that thundersticks would be given away for free, making Wrigley Field a landmark once again....the place that held the largest group of peoplewith the smallest combined IQ, slightly edging out the Twinkie fans in the Metrodome. The fans in the Metrodome are slightly smarter because they're actually following a winning team.....or atleast a team that has actually had back-to-back winning seasons within the past 30 years.

    White

Glover is the long reliever....NOT White. White is a 6th inning guy....if your starter has some trouble....he comes out after 5....and White goes in and pitches an inning or two....to get the ball to the setup guys. He is also a guy that can give Gordon a day off if needed, or he can fill in for Gordon if Gordon is needed for a save because Koch is tired....or White could be used as a closer if Koch is being rested. The one thing he is not is a starter. White starting scares the hell out of me. Glover is the spot starter.
  20. Exactly....what a great idea, huh? And then we could show them constant Cubs and Twins games. And the Dolphins

    Soxnet

And then you go to the forums-whatever topic it is on Pale Hose Talk...and we're trash talking, saying we're not a big happy family, and that we hate each other. Are we the type of family that is happy one minute and putting on boxing gloves the next? Also....am I supposed to say "Who gives a flyin' fudge?" That sounds kind of funny.
  22. Maybe But Gary thinks Porzio is a future Cy Young winner....so maybe not Then again....Gary's a Cubs fan.....they always think about s*** like that.
  23. You ignornat slut, the is the stupidest f***ing piece of s*** thing that any moron idiot has ever posted on these boards, asshole. :fyou No man, f*** you. :fyou You liked Royce Clayton. Royce Clayton was a s***ty shortstop....but he had a good glove. He didn't have very good range....but Ozzie Guillen did. Ozzie Guillen had to have been the last White Sox to win Rookie of the Year. I hope Miguel Olivo wins it this year. Olivo is a stud catcher....he has good defense and a good arm. Ron Karkovice had a really good arm too. Ron Karkovice is ugly. So is Randy Johnson. Randy Johnson is won of the greatest pitchers of our time. He is 6'10''....the only player taller than him is Jon Rauch. Jon Rauch is a white guy. Frank Thomas is a black guy. Magglio Ordonez is a latino. Royce Clayton is a mix of those 3....so he is a blito guy. Royce Clayton sucks....and he only has 1 fan.....being cwsox. :fyou cwsox :fyou ....you liked Royce Clayton....you are a son of a b****! f*** ALL YOU BASTARDS :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou No, f*** you :fyou :fyou :fyou f***ing is essential life. Water is also essential to life. Our planet is 3/4 water....the other 1/4 is land. Land is what some balls that Frank Thomas hit don't do. Frank Thomas is on the White Sox. Your name is whitesox247..... :fyou :fyou f*** YOU:fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou That's enough you guys if I have to come back there I'm going to turn this message board around and we're going right back home. And btw your momma is so fat she has to iron her pants in the driveway. You son of a b****, if you do that, than I'm gonna kick your ass you son of a b****. :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou
  24. Is it Corey Patterson's breakout year again this year? Oh yeah, and roman....I wouldn't pay to see that....well, not you in a thong anyways.
  25. I disagree with a few. Buehrle would be compared to Alvarez....both are lefties. Garland would then be compared to Fernandez....though someone may want to do some checking up on that one. Also....I think it is fair to compare Thomas to Thomas....but that is MHO.
