Am I the only one who thinks Livan is a little older than 28?

I'd yell "Go Ringer" or something like that. I'd never yell "Go Royce" Maybe I'm too quick to say that....if I went to Comiskey, and I saw Royce(Clayton, not Ring) hit into a DP....I'd undoubtedly yell "Go Royce" then. That'd be awesome.

the cubs..lol ......half of them are on the dl already and the other half are starting in the minors... if they come back to win anything ill dance naked in wrigleyville.......... I'd pay to see that. wsf you wont have to pay...ill do it for free if the scrubs come one iota close to winning something special......... Hey....I didn't say I was going to pay. I said I would pay. I'm a cheap ass....but stuff like that is well worth the money.

"a 1 in 2 innings"? No doubt Jas....put down the bong.

The Cubs blow....they have good pitching, but still have no offense. Chop Suey will probably hit .240, Hill will probably hit like .250, AGonz will strike out like 150 times again, Alou will visit the DL atleast once, and probably more, Patterson will probably walk only 35 times and strike out only 130 times.....and everyone expects Carlos Zambrano to break out and have a good year. That is bulls***....are they too damn lazy to look at Jon Garland's 2001 numbers or what? Garland's 2001 numbers and Zambrano's 2002 numbers are almost identical in all aspects. Garland went 12-12 4.50 with us....and they expect Zambrano to just be a stud.....wtf? And whoever their 5th starter is will blow...with the exception of Cruz, if he makes it....and I don't think he will. Alfon-six-a is going to be out until May atleast...Rod Beck is like 50 and is working on a fake arm....and then there is always SamME. Call me when the Cubs win 90 games....I'd tell you my phone number.....but by the time the Cubs DO win 90 games....I'll probably have had it changed about 5 times just because I've moved around. Hell, even the dumbass Jeff Pearlman says they'll suck. Some guy said the Cubs will win about 95 games(an obvious sign of a kid that flunked out school and that is a dumbass Cub fan) and Pearlman said the Cubs would win 95 games when Vanilla Ice's "Ice, Ice Baby II" topped the charts. Anybody heard that song yet? The Sox are going to make it to the playoffs....and will hopefully advance. Anything can happen in baseball, and the playoffs especially. In fact....this year, I picked on who was favored to win.....and I only got two predictions right(and that was after the Division Series's were over.....because I had the A's, Yanks, Braves, and DBacks advancing....what the f*** is wrong with me?), picking the Angels....I said they'd win it all....and they did.....once the ALCS rolled around.

Not saying this is even a rumor....but here's what it says in the NFL Inside Dish.... Just wondering. And I'm happy as a Bills fan....they signed Sam Adams today to a 4-year deal. He's a big mofo. They could be a good team next year....that's scary, but not for me.

And Twins games And Dolphin games too!

You know what would be torture for them without US hurting them physically? Putting a prison in the middle of the Hudson Bay, rebuilding the WTC's, and having their only window be a perfect view of them. For any other prisoners....this would be paradise. For these guys....it would be a living hell. Force feed them, so they don't starve themselves....and take away anything at all that is dangerous. Make the walls plush in red, white, and blue....give them a mattress with no springs that is red, white, and blue....and make their windows unbreakable with human force....maybe a strong plastic or a strong glass. They'd live about 20-30 more years, and the only thing they can look at is the WTC. It'd work for me.

All I gotta say is HA, WE HAVE JIM BULLARD....THEY DON'T. Given, they have Phil Rogers post there...but who gives a flyin' f*** about Phil Rogers?

You ignornat slut, the is the stupidest f***ing piece of s*** thing that any moron idiot has ever posted on these boards, asshole. :fyou No man, f*** you. :fyou You liked Royce Clayton. Royce Clayton was a s***ty shortstop....but he had a good glove. He didn't have very good range....but Ozzie Guillen did. Ozzie Guillen had to have been the last White Sox to win Rookie of the Year. I hope Miguel Olivo wins it this year. Olivo is a stud catcher....he has good defense and a good arm. Ron Karkovice had a really good arm too. Ron Karkovice is ugly. So is Randy Johnson. Randy Johnson is won of the greatest pitchers of our time. He is 6'10''....the only player taller than him is Jon Rauch. Jon Rauch is a white guy. Frank Thomas is a black guy. Magglio Ordonez is a latino. Royce Clayton is a mix of those 3....so he is a blito guy. Royce Clayton sucks....and he only has 1 fan.....being cwsox. :fyou cwsox :fyou ....you liked Royce Clayton....you are a son of a b****! f*** ALL YOU BASTARDS :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou No, f*** you :fyou :fyou :fyou f***ing is essential life. Water is also essential to life. Our planet is 3/4 water....the other 1/4 is land. Land is what some balls that Frank Thomas hit don't do. Frank Thomas is on the White Sox. Your name is whitesox247..... :fyou :fyou f*** YOU:fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou :fyou

LOL The little blip that 247 put up said he's starting this year....meaning he is being converted into a starter. He'll be groomed as a starter....not a closer.

That was a different Sammy Sosa and there is a difference then Sammy Sosa at that time by himself then Frank Thomas and Albert Belle still in pretty much their prime. Frank Castillo isn't a pitcher. We had Darwin who was solid and a lot of injuries, but wasn't that one of the years the cubs had no closer or anything? Frank Castillo....he is on the Red Sox this year. He has nearly lost 20 games a couple times I know. And in 1997....Terry Adams had like 18 saves. That's not a lot....but it's still there. Some of the stuff I said was blown a bit out of proportion....but great players do make success contagious, or so it seems. Thomas has never really been on a big-losing team....he was here at the end of 90 and from 91-00 in full seasons(except 99 when he had surgery after 135 games). He was injured in 2001 and hit s***ty in 02. The most games Thomas has ever lost in a season is 86....in 99. He's had some good talent around him, however, in 99, that team was still very raw. To win 75 games....that's incredible. That would be like the Indians winning 75 games this year....I don't think that's gonna happen, personally.

Hillenbrand for Cruz? And I thought KW was an idiot.

I cant believe that I'm actually defending Sosa on this, but there have been many players that never led their team to consistent winning teams. Take a guy like ARod for example, we all know his numbers, yet the Rangers weren't even a .500 ballclub last season. It doesn't take one great hitter to get to the playoffs, it takes a whole team, which is what the Cubs don't have. Do the Angels have just one big impact player? No, they have a whole team of impact players that led them to the World Series Championship. The only reason that I am willing to take Sosa on my team is that he's a great hitter. He may very well be on steroids, and I know hes the biggest b**** theres is, but I will take him for the offense that he can provide us with. So what about the DBacks in 2001? They didn't have 1 impact player...they had 2.....but that's essentially what won them the World Series. Regarding ARod....not only is he in the toughest division in the majors....but he had nothing for pitching around him. If Park can pitch decently this year....the Rangers could be an 85 win team. They have a stronger pen....and have a formidable 1-2-3 punch with Park, Valdes, and Thomson. Sosa's actually had some pitching around him at times....and he does this year. He should also have a decent offense around him as well....let's see how he does this year.

The 1997 White Sox finished at 80-81(slightly below .500....but we'll call them .500). That year, they had 1 starter finish the year with an ERA below 4.00, that being Wilson Alvarez(and he was dealt later), and 1 starter with an ERA under 5.00, being Danny Darwin(and he too was dealt later). Otherwise, every other starter they used had an ERA of over 5.00. You're not gonna win many games when your starters combine for a 5.00 ERA. On the offensive side of the ball, the White Sox had 2 players with over 60 RBI(being Belle and Thomas....Thomas having 125, Belle having 116)....though they did hit pretty well....having only 1 regular hit under .250(aside from Guillen....because he was a rare example of a guy that really was a no-bat, good-leather guy for us late in his career....and that 1 was Snopek) That year, the Cubs had only 1 real power hitter(being Sosa)....however, they did have good hitters and didn't have a regular hit below .240....they didn't score as many runs, but may have had they been in the AL....it depends on how you convert that kind of stuff. They had 1 starter with an ERA of under 4.00, being Tapani....and they had only 1 starter with an ERA of over 5.00(Frank Castillo). Their pitching was obviously better. When you compare these things all together....the teams are pretty equal, though if you had to give an edge to one team talent-wise....you'd probably give it to the White Sox. I told you the Sox finished about .500 that year....and the Cubs finished 68-94....with the talent-levels not being that big of a difference.....12 games in the standings is huge. At this point....that is about the only example....but it is still there. Maybe what I said wasn't exactly true....but it is not an absurd statement. Also....I don't give a s*** what Sosa has done with the Cubs....however many homers he's hit, the accomplishments....blah, blah, blah....we've won more without him, and that's all I care about.
-
And if we're talking about curses on the Cubs with other animals....was it 1969 when the Cubs were up by a large amount of games when a black cat ran in front of their dugout...and they then lost the division and the Mets eventually went on to win the Series....I know it was something like that.
-
247....Sosa has had like 3 or 4 winning seasons with the Cubs....regardless of the talent around him....if he was such a great ballplayer....the Cubs would have been winning. Cubs fans will make the excuse that the Cubs have never had winning seasons with Sosa because he didn't have talent around him....they're too damn stupid to realize that Frank Thomas helped the Sox become a winning team and he had about the same amount of talent Sosa had around him. Great players are on winning teams....and there are very few exceptions throughout the history of the game.....with Ernie Banks being a great example. And wasn't he on the Cubs before their whole streak of non back-to-back winning seasons started?
-
Oh s***....I've never been there personally(not yet....I'll get there sometime in my lifetime though)....but I don't think there is really much to look at....I've just heard stories and reports about it on the radio and such...oh man, it sounds like a blast. Then again....I could see it being a kick-ass party from 2 weeks prior to the rally itself until 2 weeks after....but I don't think there would be much of a town left afterwards.
-
We're at the very least, 1-1....and I believe 2-0. Throw out all the stats Sosa has put up....because I got 2 numbers for you. George Bell won a division crown while with the White Sox....something SamME has not done to this day with the Cubs. Winning is the point of baseball....and we won with Bell(the guy we got for Sosa), and the Cubs didn't and still haven't won with Sosa(except 1 lucky Wild Card birth and they were then eliminated in 3 straight games).....and I don't think they ever will.
-
Nope, all the games that I was able to get were WSB2K2 and this car racing game Knew I shouldn't have bought that cheap Dreamcast :fyou NFL 2K is selling for $.75 on half.com.....I just saw that the other day, and there were like 4 of them left. I'm sure 4 Dreamcast games aren't going to be bought in 1 day, regardless of how cheap they are. I don't know how good that game is....but I figured since it was that cheap....why the hell shouldn't I tell someone?

I'd love to have Kerry Wood in the rotation....he's a frickin stud....he has control problems occassionally....but if we could get away with dealing Rauch and a few others(nothing huge)....I'd be all for it. It would kill the Trib and they probably would lose a few fans, but man, would he be a helluva pickup. Wood would be an ace on a ton of teams....and a #2 on some others too. For us....depending on how Garland pitches this year....he could end up as our #4 guy. If a trade of like Rauch and Wright for Wood came up...I'd do it in a second. I'd be sad for Rauch and Wright....going from a good organization(other than spies in the clubhouse) to a circus like they have on the north side of town is teetering on abuse As much as I dispise the Cubbies....I do like Wood. And Cruz has a hell of an arm....if he could get some command of that stuff....he could be a nasty ass pitcher too.

We're not going to get one of Florida's 3 catchers....they're going to keep all 3....and almost expect Castro to become a very good catcher in the future. From Ken Rosenthal's Inside Dish: If we want to get one of Florida's catchers....we're going to have to give them a helluva lot more than just Glover/Stewart and Paul....we'd probably have to atleast include a fringe prospect as well....and for Castro, probably more.
