  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Mar 10, 2010 -> 08:51 PM) I only buy shirts (Beckham, Konerko, Buehrle). I only bought shirts that could have players forever identified with the club (ie: Buehrle, not Swisher). Ouch. This made me remember a tidbit I chose to forget to post early. I bought Swisher's custom "Dirty 30" shirt from his personal website in 08'. Delinquent fans later ejected before the top of the 9th for flicking off and screaming obscenities at the Blue Jays' Alex Rios. OOPS ALL BERRIES! That's what taught me to get Buehrle before Quentin for my first jersey: getting something that will be relevant even after the player is done with the White Sox. Buehrle in black has the no-no and Perfect game going for it. Although at this point I'd rather have the Quentin jersey shirt than the Swish' custom from that season; but you live and you learn.
  2. I recently bought my first Sox jersey, and opted for a black Buehrle one. Before that I've just bought jersey shirts (AJ, Paulie and Thome). I get a good deal on replica jerseys from a friend who knows a guy who gets them for $50 each. I plan on picking up a home Thomas one next; and would like a road grey one too to have one of each (like someone else was saying). If I made the decision today, I'd go with Q but I probably won't pull trigger until mid-season in case Beckham moves above him on my man crush list.
  3. Voted Damon based on at bats. I am weening myself into accepting the DH is what it is for now. I like to be a positive guy. Both of these outright decline to sign so you can go make division rivals better situations are frustrating during a time when you can only go on projected productions vs. actual production.
  4. For me, it's Danks and Floyd. I expect both these guys to take it to "the next level" under the leadership of the vets (Mark, Jake, Freddy even). Gavin particularly, I think he can become an elite CY caliber pitcher.
  5. The past few seasons I've given thought to picking up an NL team as a side-team to follow (since I subscribe to MLB.tv). I flirted with the Rockies in 07 after they swept both NY teams at home during inter-league and of course the run to Rocktober. Love Tulowitzki. I've caught a lot of Mets games the past two seasons as my friends a Mets fan and living in NY I get all their games on SNY; but I never got any yearning to become emotionally invested in them. Rooted for the Dodgers this post-season as my brother is a Dodger fan and I was cheering for Big Jim. Teams I've kicked around following for this year: Nationals or Reds. I'm headed to DC for the Sox series so I'm leaning towards the Nasty Nats currently.
  6. Merry Christmas Soxtalk! Look what Santa brought me in my stocking:
  7. Wtf happened to Jeff Marquez, the supposed "5th starter candidate" sinker-baller?
  8. So... I don't usually snope around these other forums of Soxtalk, but what the hey. Anyone watching TNA Bound for Glory? Pretty decent show so far. The TLC tag title match is on now (let's pretend it's TLC and not 'full metal mayhem'; as even TNA has pointed out Team 3D has the advantage in matches with "tables, ladders, and chairs."
  9. It's just now hitting me they'll be no White Sox baseball to watch for a while now. Sure, I'll follow Thome and Contreras and Swisher and B.A. and O. Cab if only for one night. I'll be rooting for the N.L. former Sox, not so much the former CF platoonees in the AL East or a Twink who thinks he's tough. I don't even like Football that much. Winters not as fun.
  10. Voted Twins, because my old man is a Twinkie fan and I have been following the Tigers and hoping for their demise all season. Plus we have more games left against the Tigers so we can play a big part in the Twins taking the division. I mean I envisioned us in this role but that vision fizioned out a while ago.
  11. "That's trouble..." finished by "Pods is there!" that must be rare.
  12. What did we give up for Rios besides money we hadn't spent?
  13. There must be a decent amount of Sox fans near where they mic the crowd, cause it sounds 50/50 without the announcers.
  14. Man I looked away and had to switch to the Angels feed to figure out wtf happened.
  15. I think he'll be fine, in 2010. We ain't living in that time period yet though.
  16. Why do Angels fans hate us so much? With this mic'ed crowd the boos overwhelm the cheers!
  17. I hate these Promotional Patriotic Red caps. Do we always play the Angels in these games? (Research sez: Memorial Day but not 4th of July). Guess I forgot
  18. I feel like the worst are announce teams that have announcers out in the stands and s***. Just more excuses to cut away from the game. Mets do this, I know Texas used to and various others. I have MLB.tv premium so I just always watch Hawk and Stoney this year, but in the past I used to have to watch the home broadcast of each game and got to sample the other announce crews.
  19. I'm going to the game Thursday. Hoping the Sox aren't facing a sweep. That'd be depressing after a long drive.
  20. QUOTE (Wise Master Buehrle @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 02:26 PM) YES it will I get to watch it still! Are you sure it'll be on MLB.TV? The Media Center still lists the National Blackout box next to it. Guess we'll find out.
