  1. I figured I'd start the thread, as I'm going to the Knights game tomorrow... But, my apologies, because I don't know who's starting here, let alone at the other minor league clubs. I'm just excited to see Owens and Fields. Is Richar playing at AAA yet? That'd be the icing on the cake. I'm gonna try to get to at least one more game too, it's a four game set here in Rochester (the Twinkies farm club, so I'll be even more into it). Go Future Sox!
  2. The Cuban Missile suprisingly winning. I'd gladly take him, Danks or Floyd.
  3. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 24, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) Oh dear God, Hawk got to the play by play guys. Hawk joined them in the booth?
  4. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 24, 2008 -> 01:03 PM) will we be able to see this on mlbtv? fox is carrying the mets rockies game here so i wont get the white sox....does mlb carry fox games that are out of market? I'm in the same boat. We are not supposed to be able to see it on MLB.TV as all FOX games are considered blacked out, but I know the first week when we played the Tigers and it was a FOX game I was able to to watch it on MLB.TV. Might've just been a first week error though. Guess it's time to spark some dank for Danks to get him sparked.
  5. Let's finish what we started in the last two games in Anahiem and keep the good times rollin', let's Go-Go-Gavin Floyd.
  6. I'm not even going to read the article. What a ridiculous, unfounded speculation.
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ May 22, 2008 -> 10:59 PM) I got a feeling that a Carlos Quentin jersey is going to be a hot commodity very soon. It's in my future plans once I get some money in the bank this summer (college student, summer worker).
  8. Let's keep the good times rollin', go get Mark!
  9. I liked that on Opening Day we didn't just concede the game because he was on the mound, and kept fighting back. Sure, we didn't get the win that night but we put in that kind of performance against him again and good things will happen. Let's keep the streak alive!
  10. Let's go Contreras, keep up the solid starts
  11. I was born and raised here in Rochester, NY; but my Mom's side of the family is from Chicago (and are all Cubs fans). Frank Thomas made me a White Sox fan, despite attending my first Major League games at Wrigely. I'm pretty proud to say that I turned out a White Sox fan on my own will, while my other brothers turned out quasi-Cubs fans (neither really follow baseball as passionately as I do, which pisses me right off when they try and talk s***). I'm seriously considering the Chicago-land area post graduate school, and that's due to the Sox.
  12. QUOTE (Reddy @ May 18, 2008 -> 11:12 PM) because we're NOT rooting for that team... and that's what it's all about. And it's not a 'cool opportunity' offered by the team - it's part of your JOB. here's an example: i'm an actor, imagine for a second i become famous. the cubs call my agent and sign me up to sing the national anthem or throw out a pitch - whatever. I'm supposed to go to my agent and tell him to refuse the offer just because I'm a sox fan? (granted with my outspoken sox-love i doubt they'd come knocking) but even better, say i'm not YET famous but working my way up. They ask me to sing the anthem. great chance for more exposure but just because i'm a sox fan i'm supposed to give up that great opportunity to be seen/heard by 40,000 people? Not on your life. not the same as a guy in a bear suit... but come on, you'd risk your job because of your fan-hood? i'm just saying that being a die hard sox fan doesn't mean that you should screw yourself over in a situation like this. See, if I'm actually an actor or up and coming actor, I turn down the chance because I'm a White Sox fan and have my agent contact them so we can go with the story that I turned down Wrigley for The Cell. Some positive press for the club. If I'm just a dude in a mascot suit, I'd do it for s***s and giggles, but wear a Sox jersey underneath. If I'm dude in a mascot suit who doesn't care about his job, I wear a Sox hat under the mascot head, and flip the head off after the pitch. That'd be a sweet way to quit a job. So, I think this is situational.
  13. It's all about the positives, baby.
  14. Yea that was a problem last year. Our record against the National League was ass.
  15. Buehrle will get the win tonight!
  16. I saw Thome get up in the 9th and assumed, hey, it's after the 6th inning, it's a K and this might be extra innings. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised every now and then.
  17. Positive Game Thread 2-0 baby! I'm really happy to be .500 heading into San Fran. We should take at least 2 of 3, I mean it's basically us against Aaron Rowand out there right?
  18. I believe Contreras can get out of these runners on the corners unscathed.
  19. Yea, this 4 game set better not be another Toronto. Come on Count, keep up the roll you've been on.
  20. We are wasting so much quality pitching it is making me sick. Let's just have our give up games be when Buehrle pitches. 7 runs last night in a loss and 0 tonight on 3 hits. Ugh.
  21. Do we lead the league in quality starts that are given up as losses?
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:20 PM) Fun stat....Erstad would be second on this team in batting average at .296. The dirt circulating him gives him that extra 10%.
