  1. Hopefully there are some home runs from our side, that's the only way I'll get score updates from MLB.com until lead changes after the 7th. Pointless service, but I want to distract myself at work. Go Sox!
  2. Voted for Danks, he's earned it.
  3. So the Twins are a 1/2 game out. How far were they out when we swept the 4 game set? Embarrassing.
  4. I'm watchin the LA broadcast on MLB.tv. Don't believe I even saw it.
  5. We'll sweep the Dodgers, everything will be fine and dandy, then the Cubs will sweep us again, it will be all doom and gloom, and the ridiculous streakiness will continue all season as we pound the teams we're supposed to beat and lose to the real contenders. UGH.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) Great story...when I was working as a Grad Assistant at NIU during 2003, another co-worker decided to leave the game we were working at halftime because the Cubs were leading in Game 6 against the Marlins. He was told that if he left, he'd be fired. He said that was fine, as he would rather be in the city for the NL Championship celebration. So not only does he go to the city only for the Cubs to lose, but he also got fired from his job and his girlfriend ended up leaving him. That'll teach him to like the Cubs But as far as the importance of tomorrow's game... I mean, I've already lost money on the series. Game 3 is ALL pride and respect. Let's get to em early, and late. Early and often didn't work out enough.
  7. Hope to catch the first inning on my lunch break at least... go get em' Danks.
  8. Well that's White Sox history... I think this is as far as all of Chicago goes?
  9. Just the momentum we needed heading to the Cubs series. I hope us AND the Rays keep it up tomorrow... shows the Cubs we get it done against the Pirates just as they do, while the Rays handle them as they handled us.
  10. Swisher to first, call up Jerry Owens sounds good to me!
  11. Yea, this team is streaky. Hopefully this latest streak is only 2 losses. It's embarrassing enough to drop two to the Tigers. If we get swept, I think it's time for another Ozzie rant. Why not, the last one came after 3 losses to a GOOD team. Anyways, go Sox!
  12. We don't talk about last year!
  13. This is a huge series. Let's kick them Twinkies down a few notches, starting with tonight!
  14. When's the last time we picked a positional player first round?
  15. I was wondering the same. This must be the major shake up!
  16. He looked pretty excited to be hitting in the two hole.
  17. Uribe started his rehab stint with Charlotte tonight. Interestingly, Richar has started at shortstop the past two games (makes sense with Uribe there, but yesterday Getz started).
  18. Yea, I left the game after the 5th, but that was due to the temperature (and it was like 5-0 at that point). Uribe in the lineup tonight at 2nd. Funny how when I went to a Sox game last August, the 1-4 tonight for Charlotte were all playing (Owens, Uribe, Richar, Fields was the 1-4). I wish Charlotte played here more than once a year, oh well.
  19. Neither Fields or Owens played today. Broadway had one rough inning (gave up 5 runs) but other than that looked pretty solid. They had Richar start at shortstop, and he went 0 for 4 in the 3 spot. Brad Eldred hit a nice grand slam of Liriano, but alas the Knights lost in the 10th (oh, Dewon Day). Hopefully going again tomorrow night!
  20. Being able to go to a sports bar (Buffalo Wild Wings) and watch a White Sox game was a great experience tonight. Especially getting to watch it with my buddy who I grew up with from Elementary school as a White Sox fan (who doesn't have cable or internet regularly, and thus this his was his first live game this season). Actually watching a Sox game with a fellow fan is an experience I want more of. As I approach Grad School I think more and more about Chi-Town versus here in NY state. But I'm drunk and rambling. The bottom line is, even non-White Sox fans here in Western New York are starting to recognize Quentin's brilliance, and that excites me.
