Ranger fans not so happy with McCarthy
JohnCangelosi replied to tonyho7476's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The home run balls scare me with Danks, for sure. It just seems that he leaves too many pitches over the meat of the plate and with his stuff he cannot get away with it in the bigs. However, I think the guy is a fighter and has a lot more balls than that pussy Floyd. And I think Danks is a young version of Buehrle but I seriously wonder if he's going to be our 5th starter at the end of the season. I hope so, but I would give it a 50/50 shot. Are we better off THIS YEAR with Danks/Masset over BMac? Only time will tell but something in my gut tells me yes...and I used to be a big BMac fan but the guy throws the straightest fastball in the history of baseball and if he doesnt spot it perfectly he is done... -

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 06:54 PM) That last line is 100%, and that's pretty much what he was down the stretch in 2005. A pitch Boone hit that year was a fastball low (though I seem to recall Vizcaino having a good piece of hitting on the fastball up in game 2). Vizcaino's hit was a LOW fastball (below the belt) that's the only way he got to it in game 2...this is what concerns me is his belt high heater is now a hittable pitch where before there was no chance...

Ok here it goes: That Pussy Torii Hunter That Pussy Justin Morneau That Pussy Jason Tyner That Pussy Nick Punto That Pussy Lew Ford That Pussy Pat Neshek That Pussy Jason Bartlett That Pussy Boof Bonser Anyone see how lucky the Twins got last night with Carl Crawford doing his best meathead impersonation on the basepaths? Luckiest team in the league with all of their swinging bunt hits and opposing team lost fly balls in that joke of stadium they play in. Makes me sick...

Horrible at bat by Uribe. Looked like he was going to swing at anything- even if it was over his head on 3-2 -

Let's get some runs for this guy! I'd like to give him a few run cushion here going into the 6th... -
Anyone here remember Hawk and Don Drysdale? That was a GREAT Duo. Hawk doesn't respect DJ (especially during the beginning of working relationship)- I think that is abundantly clear. DJ is intimidated by Hawk and agrees with him 100% of the time and when he doesn't he hardly argues his point he just buckles like a little Sally. But Hawk really respected Drysdale and I thought they were an awesome duo. It was the 80's so a lot of you younger punks don't remember them but they were great.

QUOTE(Capn12 @ Apr 5, 2007 -> 03:21 PM) And thanks maggsmaggs for finally bringing us the first back to back gamethread starter! Thorton should be taken behind the shed for his piss poor performance the last two games. Good win though, let's kick the Twins' di*ks in this weekend gentlemen! First 7:11 pm start tomorrow night ;-) -

Ok, let me fall off the rocker here a little bit. Is today's game a "must win"? A must win from the standpoint of our mentality/confidence coming out of the gate here. Thoughts? -
I'd take Ortiz over any of our pitchers right now ;-)

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 2, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) Yeah you know it's bad when Sisco gets the player of the game for the Sox. I really like BA. He just ripped that ball. And he plays great D. We gotta get him playing everyday, I think he can hit .300 in this league with 15-20 hrs a year, no question. The guy has incredible talent you can just see it... -

I live in Europe and the games come on very late. Not worth it getting up at 2 AM to see this sh*t for the normal 7 PM starts during the season... -

ESPN's Steve Phillips actually picked Sox for WC
JohnCangelosi replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I think the Tigers are grossly overrated and did indeed have a miraculous start (76-36) last year and just kinda limped in. I don't see them in the mix this year...one of the few who don't. A lot of people in here are making the Twins, Tigers and Indians to be unbeatable and we need to remember that's not close to the case...if we do our thing this year we'll be in the mix.
