  1. The problem is how long can Kopech and Cueto realistically hang in there in the dog days of August?
  2. We are getting from Cueto what we expected from Gio, or vice versa. Parkman hasn't asserted we should decline arbitration to him quite yet, though.
  3. Dreaded spidertack and long Covid rationalizations.
  4. Giolito had 13 IP and just 1 run against CLE prior to that start...in 2022.
  5. Giolito might have lowest league average FB of starters in AL than anyone but Bundy and maybe Cueto.
  6. Or the head trainer's picture. Or Shelley Duncan. Then again, one Leury head would be quite good, too.
  7. Somehow not signing Conforto earlier in the year logically absolves Hahn of finding any serviceable OF option.
  8. He was absolutely amazing his rookie year there...or maybe 2015? AV almost knocked McMahon's glove off right there.
  9. Giolito has to have the shortest leash in the world with another off day tmrw.
  10. If that CF plan fails, we can always bring back Avi Garcia.
  11. Who do you think we are, the Astros? They can afford to trade away multiple CFers ...
  12. Konerko Thome and Dye met with Hahn and said no changes were needed...just go with the horses that got you there.
  13. The Sox would be up at least 3-5 games up in the division with Francona managing instead...
  14. We have no other choice but to like them...since other teams beating the Twins might even be more integral than Sox victories this year.
  15. Hard to imagine them going after Castillo or Montas and dumping Giolito. We'll get the typical "have to go with the numbers on the back of his card" bromides from Hahn about it.
  16. Cotton would fit in well with Sox bullpen. Just gave up a five spot. 8~3 Brew Crew. The weird loss yesterday was that Boston was 12-2 in their yellow City Connect unis before last night against the Guardians, who started Bryan Shaw.
  17. I remember when Kelenic was going to be the AL MVP at some point...
  18. Go Brewers? White Sox wouldn't get three runs with 54 outs against Burnes.
  19. Mariners: Jarred Kelenic, OF Under club control through at least 2028 Kelenic has struggled mightily during his stints with Seattle, and while nobody is ready to give up on the Mariners’ former No. 1 prospect (and No. 4 overall in MLB), a change of scenery might be good for the 23-year-old. Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto is one of the more creative executives in the game, so anything is possible between now and Aug. 2.
  20. “Mark Potash, an outstanding veteran writer for the Sun-Times, has tweeted out the Braves record from 2021 over the past week when I post the White Sox current numbers, and they are in a remarkably similar position. The Braves were 47-49, in third place and five games out of first, before closing on a 41-24 run to win the National League East by 6 1/2 games and then going on to win the World Series. The next 19 games for the White Sox feature two in Colorado, three at home vs. Oakland, three at home vs. Kansas City, four in Texas, four in Kansas City and three at home vs. Detroit before Houston visits. All 19 are against teams with records below .500. So maybe more will be known about this team as of Aug. 19, although that line has been uttered as much as, "Is this the win that will turn things around?" during this perplexing season. The White Sox have nine games vs. the Twins in September, including six of the last nine on the schedule. So, this division seems to be moving toward a remarkable final week.” Scott Merkin/Mlb.com
  21. The problem is that relying on Martin or Lambert is the pitching equivalent of Sheets and Leury. Maybe they get another deal with Cueto, but it won’t be nearly so advantageous the second time around.
