  1. That's not the problem with Moncada. If that's the case, Liam Hendriks needs to lose a lot of weight, comparatively.
  2. Nobody has a clue what he is or isn't responsible for with this current dysfunctional leadership arrangement.
  3. He has told or at least intimated to members of the media he’s still not 100%. It’s not like this is the first time there has been a disconnect on a Moncada injury. And nobody trusts their strength + training/conditioning group right now.
  4. You didn’t know a year ago Burger might be a viable replacement, though…
  5. They’ve motivated their fans to attend games in droves. That, in and of itself, is quite important to sustaining payroll. Has Hahn managed the same? Baseball, in the end, is about entertainment. https://twitter.com/gilxred/status/1447712141583257603 In the bottom of the third inning with the White Sox trailing 5-3 and two runners on base and Leury García at the plate, the fan promised to a get a tattoo in García's honor. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/sports/chicago-baseball/white-sox-fan-gets-leury-garcia-tattoo-after-huge-home-run-in-game-3-of-alds/2634944/ As you can see above, that fan who got the Garcia #20 tattoo has gone into Witness Protection with Bartman.
  6. They might as well DFA him if that’s their best idea…he 100% needs to be on the IL, whether it’s physical, psychological, or both.
  7. Imagine the Cubs dealing Bryant and Baez in 2017…
  8. Yet still somehow faster than Vaughn and Sheets in the outfield.
  9. Now playing 3B for the White Sox, Jim Morrison…
  10. Grandal falling apart before pitch framing niche advantage completely disappears…
  11. https://www.espn.com/mlb/player/batvspitch/_/id/32151/tyler-anderson White Sox hitters 10/48 career wise. Half those hits from Pollock. One homer was Grandal. 5/30 or .167 if you take out AJ.
  12. But Trout is quite similar. Otoh, Buxton looks almost too thin but it doesn’t seem to affect his power at all.
  13. Yes, 5’11 1/2 seems more likely…
  14. Intrigue and conspiracy theories abound. Steve Stone was just out there in LV last weekend. But Stone supposedly dislikes Moncada. Brokering a deal to bring Steverson back as Moncada, Robert, Grandal, Jimenez, Leury and Abreu’s personalized hitting coach? “As of 2020, Steverson is the hitting coach for the Las Vegas Aviators, the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics.[1]”
  15. They even made SD come together as a team learning how not to rely upon him being in the lineup too much. And Hahn already knew he was a daredevil motorcyclist. Risk mitigation, baby! Great work.
  16. Mendick, Vaughn (1B), Robert Abreu (DH), Burger, Pollock (LF), Grandal, Engel (RF), Harrison No Leury, Sheets, McGuire, Moncada
  17. What happened between Charlotte and Chicago? https://www.mlb.com/news/yoan-moncada-releases-music-video Moncada told Bleacher Report in remarks translated from Spanish that his goals for 2016 are simple. "Steal 100 bases and keep focused on reaching the big leagues." FORT MYERS, Fla. — It's Yoan Moncada's turn. After 90 minutes of fielding drills, the prospect one major league scout labeled "the closest thing to [Mike] Trout I've seen," per Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan, finally gets to take batting practice. With a chiseled, 6'2", 205-pound frame that Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly likened to a "friggin' inside linebacker," Moncada divides his cuts evenly between the right and left side of the plate. It's hard to see a weak side in his swing or when contact is made. The approach is a model of controlled anger. It is as fierce as it is fluid. There are no BP home runs this day, but steady line drives to left, center and right from both sides of the plate give onlookers a taste of what they came to see. ….. "I'm not sure we've ever had someone quite like him physically in our system," said general manager Mike Hazen, who has worked with the Red Sox since 2006. "Bo Jackson was a guy built that way. Of course, he played football, too. But no one we've had in our system." https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2624605-red-sox-cuban-phenom-yoan-moncada-more-than-flashy-cars-hype-and-muscles
  18. Pilkington at home against A’s Kaprielan to push the Guardians one game over .500 tonight.
  19. Well, he’s a lefty. So we’ve got a puncher’s chance.
  20. https://sports.yahoo.com/pga-tour-drops-hammer-suspending-current-and-future-liv-players-135231948.html US Open just got a lot more interesting. The players are now ineligible to compete on any PGA Tour-affiliated event and will not be permitted to participate in the Tour's season-ending FedEx Cup. Affected players listed by name include Phil Mickelson and Ian Poulter. Many others, including Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Kevin Na, Lee Westwood and Graeme McDowell have resigned their membership from the PGA Tour. Bryson DeChambeau and Patrick Reed will reportedly jump to the LIV tour when it arrives in the United States for its second event in early July.
  21. Los Angeles Dodgers' Tyler Anderson became the first pitcher in MLB's modern era to go 7-0 with six walks or fewer in his first 10 outings. The unbeaten Anderson extended his scoreless streak to 26 innings and became the first National League pitcher with seven wins as the Dodgers defeated the New York Mets 6-1 on Friday night. “He was just once again so consistent. He made pitches when he needed to and kept guys off balance. Just another outstanding outing,” manager Dave Roberts. Anderson is with his fifth team since 2019. The 32-year-old lefty came into the season with a 34-38 career record and 4.53 ERA, but has found his stride with the Dodgers. https://mlb.nbcsports.com/2022/06/04/anderson-extends-shutout-streak-dodgers-defeat-mets-6-1/
  22. Engel by far at age 30 has the fastest sprint speed at over 30 feet per second on the team. Strange. What happened to Robert, TA, Moncada, etc.? Last year the late inning defense was so much more dynamic with Hamilton around. Goodwin pretty much looked like Juan Pierre compared to Sheets and Vaughn. We went from one of the fastest, most exciting teams in baseball to station to station pretty much in less than 12 months. Even Madrigal could run faster than Pollock or Harrison.
