  1. Before injury, Sale was pretty close to a surefire HoF candidate…that’s a pretty high bar. Higher than Buehrle and Konerko.
  2. Vaughn, Vera, Kopech and Montgomery. The White Sox wouldn’t even give him over $350 million even if there was no prohibitive cost in talent to consider. Non-starter. Padres would offer Abrams, Hassell, Campusano, Weathers, etc. We can’t match that without impacting our major league team even moreso than we would be adding, assuming Vaughn was playing 1st where he actually belongs.
  3. Twins' current state of the rotation Ober, Ryan, Gray, Winder all out but returning June 10-21. Only two remaining guys from original group are Archer and Bundy. Paddack out for the season. Smeltzer, Gonzalez and Sands starters #8, 9, 10 currently trying to hold down the fort. Kenta Maeda theoretically will return from surgery during the last 4 to 6 weeks of year. Maybe.
  4. Besides Ramirez, Owen Miller Gimenez Naylor Oscar Gonzalez carrying them more recently. They're getting decent contributions from pretty much every position but catcher. To me, the emergence of Andres Gimenez has been the real key to balancing out that lineup. Kwan still a 109 ops+ contributor, Miller at 127, Jimenez 148 and Jose Ramirez an otherworldly 193. Hentges Sandlin and of course Clase out of the pen have all been great.
  5. What's new? Have to wipe out the Tigers and Royals from here on out...and consistently take 2/3 against Twins or Indians head to head. Can't afford to be swept so often either.
  6. Yet the Giants still only have one path to the postseason...whereas the White Sox have two. That said, less NL teams in the thick of the wild card race.
  7. Might want to shift the contract extension talks from Cease to Kopech at this point...
  8. https://www.mlb.com/news/american-league-wild-card-race-tightens Doesn't include the Rangers (weekend opponents) or Mariners...mentions the obligatory White Sox still favored over the Twins from here on out (partly due to schedules shifting in difficulty).
  9. Never would have guessed Burger only 10 ops points behind Robert at this point.
  10. If everything holds it would Guardians and Sox both 4 games behind the Twins at +7 and -1.
  11. Two double plays the key for Lopez and Graveman... Just don't like the 4 run lead then having to bring Hendriks in with runners on base.
  12. Burger shouldn't be playing 2B at the big league level.
  13. Following in the tradition of Damaso Marte and Matty Thornton...
  14. Wow a clutch hit against his old team. That must be satisfying. Lux slipped or really close at home with Abreu.
  15. Ethical dilemmas...cheering for Donaldson to strike out against Twins.
  16. He's going to get inevitably get exposed as an everyday player.
