Colt Keith felt like a big reach too for the Tigers at the time...he's been decent/okay but far from spectacular versatility saves him to an extent, but no dominant carrying tools

Is he hung like Greg Norman or Arnold Palmer...the opposite would result in endless locker room teasing or his ancestors back in the 1920s/30s owned a literal junkyard

In his podcast appearance this week, Cuban cited the "emotional commitment" of being a majority owner for driving his decision to sell the team. "You hear the passion and everything," Cuban said. "Now imagine going up and down like that every single game. That's hard. "My kids, they were coming of age where they would have the mindset that they want to work at the Mavs. I didn't want them to. If fans don't like what you're doing or the team's not doing well, you're the worst human being on the planet." espn.com JR's biggest concern? Avoiding capital gains taxes....certainly not protecting the feelings of Jerry Krause's widow or Frank Thomas, Carlton Fisk or Dick Allen's family.

Then the White Sox have the equivalent of three WS victories over the 2023-25 period. Who knew? Probably has something to do with how many late inning/blown save losses have piled up over that time. We'very had periods where fans wished for losses to get rid of managers (Venture TLR and Grifol), GM's and even rooting for 121 losses. But none of those things mattered at all in the owner's box. Maybe it just made him more intransigent, ultimately.

And yet not so elite that they're already moving him off the position for Carlson (who might never make it as a hitter) and someone not even in the org yet. In 35 years around the sport, I have never once seen that transpire before.l Amazing how WEddy was validated by one single Ray Ray post filled with a bunch of advanced stat acronyms.

Non-White Sox Off-Season Hot Stove
Carson Benge, RF, New York MetsOf these six rookies, Benge might have been the closest to starting the season in the minors, due to his relatively short tenure as a professional. The No. 19 pick in 2024, Benge reached Double-A by the end of that year, and he had just 24 games in Triple-A at the end of 2025. He was told at the outset of camp this year that he'd be given a chance to make the Mets, and he did everything they asked. He turned out to be everything they had hoped for, too, with an .874 OPS in spring training, and eventually won the right-field job to appear in New York's Opening Day lineup. espn.com

I called him above average defensively last year. you said near elite lol If you’re talking about Colton’s 2024 through the first two months of 2026 … nobody predicted his final three months? Receipts? Where are they? Lost in the mail?

“It’s popular among discontented fans wallowing in their own misery and you have the nerve to tell fair people who see some hope that they’re the ones crying about you.” Those who are for the Iran war would undoubtedly point their fingers at liberals and say the exact same thing. “Liberals don’t love their country and should move to another country if you’re so unhappy is the general sentiment. Liberals should be more positive/optimistic. Liberals are ashamed of American exceptionalism, etc.” Of course liberals for their part believe that the pro war crowd is quite delusional and would likely never advocate their own sons or daughters join the actual (non rhetorical) fighting in the Middle East. Two entrenched sides who both believe they’re 100% in the right. Which side is actually fair objective balanced? Well, it depends largely on one’s perspective, right? The greater point here isn’t about politics at all, but simply that there has to be two sides to have an argument or debate, but emotions/passions inevitably get in the way of reasonable discourse just as they do with serious real world topics. The only commonality between politics and SoxTalk is a poster openly admitting they hate me and the poster you are engaged with here…partially for being “dark clouds.” Except that same notion absolutely destroyed WSI, if you will kindly remember 10 or 15 years ago. That if you didn’t parrot the groupthink adulation for the front office and ownership group…well, there wasn’t a welcoming place for you there at their site. Now it’s reached the polar opposite side. But isn’t it better to agree to disagree than to let things get to the point of outright hatred on a sports-related message board? Aren’t there bigger problems in the world than how someone chooses to be a fan?

https://www.reddit.com/r/whitesox/comments/133du9a/luis_robert_jr_postgame_interview/ I've been a fan of Luis since the Sox signed him, but I lost a lot of respect for him after watching that interview. That he doesn't inform the coaching staff and then head to the trainer's room for treatment when his hamstring feels tight is troubling, especially given his history of injuries. He's an elite defensive center fielder, but that he still nearly causes collisions with other outfielders is troubling. That he had to have interpreter Billy Russo tell him bench coach's Charlie Montoyo's name is troubling. I want to like Luis, but this dude is in need of a reality check
