  1. Guess it was Mead...Beckham was confused? Or viewers at home?
  2. Have to come off the bag. Or use the other foot to increase your stretch radius...
  3. Rojas dfa. Sosa doesn't have instincts for 1B.
  4. Harrelson's 54 - 34=20 Only off by 37%.
  5. Cardinals had three really good outfield prospects they traded and of course Oscar Taveras died as well.
  6. Dreaded two catcher dilemma. Baldwin the emergency backup right? Or Amaya. Guess they could have batted him for Sosa and put in Amaya.
  7. Terrible trade by AJ Preller... Mariners Acquire Four Players from San Diego: Ty France, Andres Muñoz, Luis Torrens and Taylor Trammell Seattle sends Austin Adams, Dan Altavilla and Austin Nola to the Padres Also traded Brash to MsWilliams eminently forgettable Taylor Williams
  8. Munoz went yesterday as well thanks to late comeback.
  9. Two mirror half innings there. Wonder if Robert had this week going into the deadline if it would have been enough for an opposing GM to pull the trigger?
  10. Almost never see that kind of perfect execution out of the Sox late in games.
  11. Mariners just have that confident vibe they're not going to lose at home...
  12. Now Schiffren stealing Beckham's "competitive" verbiage. Sigh. Harrelson always hated those leadoff walks late in games.
  13. Schiffren was right on about taking big swings there instead of cutting down...especially unchatacteristic of Quero.
  14. Brash just kills you with that slider/FB combo.
  15. Taylor and Robert with pretty similar ops numbers....Taylor at season high of 692.
  16. Competitive pitches, competitive at-bats. Sigh. Morpheus lol?
  17. Looks like Smith is getting back his crisper 97-98 mph fb.
  18. That bench looks terrible now except for Teel... Rockies, btw, back at 42-120 pace.
  19. Another high fastball...it's either that or low/inside sliders. Adjustment time.
  20. Brewers: Can they continue to score without slug? The Brewers lead the National League in runs per game and OPS since the start of June, but it’s happened with a mix of patience, contact and speed, and not with power. GM Matt Arnold considered acquiring a bat at the Deadline, but the choices were sparse beyond D-backs slugger Eugenio Suárez, and the prices were astronomical. And besides, June acquisition Andrew Vaughn has already given the Brewers a jolt. The last World Series winner to finish the regular season below league average in slugging percentage was the 2012 Giants. -- Adam McCalvy mlb.com
  21. Another big consideration is that DeVries was at least 2 1/2 to 3 years away from the big leagues, having only debuted in A ball. Braden Montgomery has already jumped him in four months. Then you had Teel Meidroth and even W.Gonzalez ready to contribute this year...waiting that long for Getz with Colson foundering and no pay off for fans until at least late 2026/early 2027 would have been a massive risk because there were so many holes to fill in the Sox future lineup. All depends on whether scouts believe de Vries can stick at big league SS or not.
  22. Just like Antonacci will have to hit year after year after year...especially not die a slow death in Birmingham. Utility middle infielders with 10-15 hr power just don't catch the eyes of scouts without any plus carrying tools. Magglio Ordonez wasn't a big bonus signing, so he just had to put up massive minor league numbers until everyone had no choice but to acknowledge the pudgy shaped slow running RFer could really play ball. Even the fireballing "Miz" of the Brewers was barely on the 85-100 section of most preseason lists with his 100 mph fb due to control and health/injury concerns, reliever profile, etc.
