  1. How can you sat that with your member name being what it is? Did Ron influence you to leave Team Abreu?
  2. These early season games, except for OD and the Hendriks bobbleheads...they're 60-75% season ticket holders, so that this tells me is that Chicago and Detroit have almost exactly the same number of season ticket holders, it's simply that their revenues are going to be 25-30% higher because of the prices the Sox charge for everything have gone through the roof...whereas the Tigers are more reasonable to get fans back in the ballpark.
  3. This is the kind of attitude that has us constantly struggling just to eliminate the mid-tier divisional opponents, let alone the Royals or Tigers. The way we played the first stretch against the Central, one would think that your post was pretty much the extent of their scouting report. Sano hasn't even been a factor this year. Those who play fantasy baseball at least know who Kepler, Arraez, Larnach and especially Polanco are...they have probably also heard of Sonny Gray, and Joe Ryan has been one of the Top Ten AL pitchers so far.
  4. Weren't the White Sox over .500 when they started that series?
  5. Well that should be really easy since you predicted the White Sox would win 109 games this year, so we're (according to you) due for a 95-40 stretch after playing just a handful of games over .500 over the last 105 or so. The White Sox SHOULD be able to make up a game or two at home versus CLE while the Twins are hosting Houston, but the next 21 games after that we will oscillate back and forth within that 3-5 games behind range. It won't be until the second or third week of June that we take over first place for good this season.
  6. I can just imagine if this was an unofficially official Ron ban bet or Greg775 house bet that we'd have to go to a special mediator/arbitrator to adjudicate the meaning/intent. Maybe the poster would care to clarify? It certainly would be bold to end it as of the last day of May....kind of like Jerksticks predicting 109 White Sox victories this season, which would make the tail end of 1983 for the Winnin' Ugly Sox look like a bit of a slump.
  7. Well, that just makes Sousa's and Banks' positions on the team that much safer...and elevates Sousa to the 7th and 8th, especially after Sunday's win.
  8. So if he said "over the next month," for example, would that be the same stretch? If he said "the next month" after May 15th (as opposed to one week in), would he THEN be referring to June instead of including May?
  9. He's like the Buddy Bell for this generation of Sox front office guys...and he came from one of the very best systems historically in Atlanta. It's almost inexplicable.
  10. Buxton has a mild hip strain, Larnach's also on the injured list and Paddack has elbow inflammation which is usually the kiss of death. Meanwhile, Twins have now won 9 consecutive home games. Btw, Cleveland has only had 8 home games so far this season. Detroit with 13, White Sox with 13, Minnesota with 14 and KC with 15. Will balance out in the next couple of weeks. https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance Also, it's almost inexplicable to me how Detroit (considering the even worse weather) and Arizona are outdrawing the Sox 16% of the way RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR CHAMPIONSHIP WINDOW. This was not how Brooks Boyer and Hahn drew things up in 2016/17.
  11. We aren't starting an Alek Thomas thread, are we? Looks like Kelenic might have staved off a demotion to AAA for now. Seems JP Crawford might be ouchy, so Dylan Moore is currently needed "more" at SS. Pretty sure the husband isn't getting much action this week...
  12. Ooops, I just posted it again in PHT because it's an issue that affects the entire organization, but you guys can merge/collapse it....although I'm guessing only about 25-30% of posters come to the minor league threads on a regular basis.
  13. Fine. I've never seen anyone count chunks or increments of games like that (wow, we can argue 28/29 days versus 31 constitutes a month, too!!), but sure, that very conveniently includes a series with the Blue Jays at the end of the "easy stretch." The thing is, I'm 98% sure he didn't even look at the schedule at all and simply assumed the Twins were due to collapse. I'll state for the record that I will still be shocked if they don't play at least .500 baseball during this upcoming Ptac-defined stretch of games.
  14. We'll see this next Sunday....former Sox/Brave Andruw Jones and former Padre Mark Sweeney for Pads @ Braves. Actually thought Youkilis was really good. Understated at first, definitely not a broadcasting voice...but excellent sense of humor and perfectly-timed insights. Much better than Stone and Benetti together, more balanced.
  15. This prediction is not off to a great start...other than the Astros (home series), who do you expect to beat them over the next 24? So far they are 6-2 in May, so you really think they are going 10-14 during the next 24 (exactly .500, although you said OVER, which means 9-15 or 8-16 during this upcoming stretch. Houston (3) Cleveland (3) @ Oakland (3) @ KC (3) Detroit (3) Kansas City (4) @ Detroit (5) On June 3rd, their schedule finally turns. Toronto, the Yankees (who they almost never beat, certainly not in the post-season at 18 consecutive losses), TB and Seattle (just promoted George Kirby)
  16. https://soxmachine.com/general/white-soxs-paltry-mlb-draft-bonus-pool-a-result-of-unsound-priorities/
  17. Well, they did have to deal with Colome on their roster last year...so I guess it all evens out. At any rate, Pagan isn't going to keep getting the job done with his tightrope act against good teams, though. (Of course White Sox sweeping Boston and missing Wacha at the last second, winning VV and Keuchel starts isn't that high on a probability scale, either.)
  18. Josh Van Meter who had to catch in an emergency situation yesterday (one catcher was thrown out) for Pitt hadn't caught an inning since Pony League at age 14.
  19. Arraez and Bundy out for Covid. Baldelli out for Covid. Buxton hip, Correa finger, Sano out indefinitely. Paddack might be the UCL injury that someone was projecting but that's way too premature to diagnose. All these things starting to even out now. Except the schedule. 1-1 pick SS Royce Lewis forced to make his debut.
  20. Just getting to the ALCS would feel like a miracle this year.
  21. Have a feeling someone will bump one of the numerous TLR threads. That said, Katz should get a bigger extension than Leury if he keeps this up with VV and the "expendables" bullpen. My god, Foster suddenly looks like he could be a quasi-closer.
  22. The A's are even up on the Twins 3-1 with Laureano back.
  23. McGuire is really making a massive difference behind the plate...starting to think we can overlook his offense if they can overcome Sheets Pollock Harrison and Leury overplaying.
  24. OMG. It actually worked. Matt Foster Australian for Nails. Also, glad the White Sox didn't sign Story.
