  1. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/224168/ 2019 they have him with just a handful of at-bats with Fukuoka...talk about major layoffs, it's more than Kopech's even, and that's extremely challenging for a hitter to have that much time off and get back into a rhythm and comfort zone at the plate again. Especially seeing a lot more extreme velocity than over in Japan.
  2. Because back in the day, they always wanted players to get the reward of making a mid-season All-Star team, take that reward/distinction and success with them and then spend the next 6-8 weeks at the higher affiliate and hopefully play in a postseason series. If no post-season, some of them got moved up or down to get that additional experience, too.
  3. Cueto lol. For at least one start before he gets brutalized by the East and West. We could conceivably pitch VV Keuchel and Cueto in NYC depending on what happens with Kopech and if they start Cease on normal rest Sunday or go with Cueto (extra day of rest) as part of what would (likely) be a temporary six man rotation.
  4. I wouldn't be so sure about Pollock. That prolific Dodgers' offense allowed him to blend in seamlessly as an invaluable complementary piece. We simply can't afford replacement level from our 5th/6th most important hitter in the lineup. Once hitters get to 34 these days the drop off is quite steep.
  5. Hence the low 180's team average against off speed stuff needless to say one of the lowest in the majors. Jamie Moyer and Bruce Chen are licking their chops.
  6. Sheets should definitely be in this category... Not sure what can be done with Pollock and Grandal other than letting them try to play through it.
  7. The rebuild and following minor leagues was 5-10x more enjoyable than this so-called product on the field.
  8. Because they still dream of reuniting Burr and (Ian) Hamilton?
  9. That's the one thing Harrison can do well other than gound or pop out.
  10. Well they are averaging 2.5 runs per game at home. Warmer weather!
  11. Might as well be Bobby Abreu.
  12. Collins Burdi Fulmer Rodon Burger Crochet Madrigal..lots of bad 2/3 round picks too.
  13. 6-12 against the Central is the very definition of non competitive. 3-4 against KC if they fail to rally.
  14. Here come the obligatory late game insurance runs from the bad bullpen guys. That was thrown right down Broadway.
  15. Maybe the trick is facing Eovaldi again?
  16. Brad Miller leading every Sox hitter with 6 homers. Of course low BA and sub 700 OPS.
  17. I have him at 97-98 with one 99.1.
  18. But he just can't maintain it from game to game. And that gun is 2 mph hot. 97 not 99.
  19. Free Getz. We need a new scapegoat. But Hahn can't do that to a fellow Wolverine.
  20. This is how bad things are for Tigers. They traded light hitting Isaac Paredes to the Rays and he just mashed two homers against them.
  21. But that offense is starting to come around. Buxton is in a terrible slump and they're still winning games. They have a really good mix of veterans and younger players and two MVP talents. If Royce Lewis is legit they're suddenly dangerous. Kepler and Gary Sanchez have been hitting recently.
  22. Hahn would be quite lucky to get a job that's not on Wall Street.
  23. Greg where have you been the last three years? FB used to be consistently electric but Velo and movement are way down. Inconsistent command. Erratic breaking stuff. Totally unpredictable.
  24. Nice play by Emmanuel but Abreu is noticeably slowing...
  25. And he's our best hitter yet we all know how to get him out. Fastballs inside above hands and sliders off the plate. He gone. Next test will be adjusting yet again. Or closing up his stance a bit.
