  1. Yeah, sure we’re going to get the equivalent of Madrigal, Heuer and $5+ million back for Kimbrel…
  2. Grandal finally over 200 at .203. Reynaldo/Keuchel controversy. Doubt TLR is going to mess with that unless Keuchel gets rocked his next two starts, as well.
  3. https://www.mlb.com/news/rick-hahn-on-white-sox-lineup-in-place-playoff-tested-schedule Now Merkin jinxed them. Daunting would be coming out on top in the AL East or NL West. “Hahn reflects on White Sox 'daunting' path” CHICAGO -- The White Sox have yet to accomplish any of their 2021 goals. But as they get closer to capturing the American League Central title, which would mark their first division crown since 2008 and the first target on their extensive list, general manager Rick Hahn couldn’t be prouder with the path his organization has navigated to get there.
  4. It wouldn’t be the White Sox if they made things easy on the fans…I guess 2000 and 1983 pretty much stand out as the only counter examples.
  5. Somehow the Indians are still leading Boston. Guess it would take the lead getting down to 6 games before real concern set in.
  6. Sigh. Of course. Hernandez is closer to a 10 homer guy than 25+.
  7. When’s the last time the White Sox ate more than $10 million remaining in salary…?
  8. 2024 Vesting Option vests with 320 IP across 2021-2022, including 160 IP in 2022 He has 137 after the first inning tonight. And they’re not going to pull him out of the starting rotation next year at that salary, so it’s a double hit to the rotation and from a payroll standpoint.
  9. Of course, Robert didn’t move the runner. He’s been great so far, but not a situational hitter…at least yet.
  10. Some of these Hahn moves were eventually going to bite the team on payroll flexibility. You’ve now got Keuchel, Kimbrel and Grandal if he can’t stay healthy. And Moncada needs to put up at least an 825-850 ops to be worth $20-25 million, etc.
  11. This is reminiscent of the Avi Garcia debate. Also, seems we might need two starting pitchers next season…
  12. Have a feeling he would be playing CF instead of Robert...reverse Alexei move. It is pretty crazy if you look at his career homer and SB numbers, compared with Robert, who is older. It seems like Tatis has been around forever, but really just two half seasons and then 1/4 of 2021 missed.
  13. Hernandez in RF? When he won a GG at second...well, that would be so White Sox. Guess pretty much everyone in the organization but Burger has tried outfield at least once this year.
  14. Baez and Story will be the names. Semien, Seager, Correa are going to be too expensive or getting longer term guaranteed deals. Simmons is the other choice to hope for an offensive rebound.
  15. Should we go with another starting pitcher as insurance for Kopech, as Lopez would be first man up...assuming they still plan to start Kopech? Or do they add a value guy like Conforto or Baez rebounding from a down season on a one year "make good" deal (assuming we won't spend $17.5+ million guys here)? If we did sign Baez, we wouldn't need Hernandez or Leury, so the hit to payroll actually wouldn't be all that far off from balancing...which is going to be critical if we plan on keeping Kimbrel around. Maybe the best case scenario is trading Kimbrel for a backend starter...but wouldn't it be easier just to sign the next Robbie Ray, Taijuan Walker or spend the money on SF Giants' front office members to identify FA pitching? Of course, Hahn wants to prove the value of his two acquisitions and TLR loves himself some Leury.
  16. As always, depends on pitching. Not easy to replace Ray and Semien. TB isn't going away and Red Sox will have Sale for an entire season.
