  1. Many teams will ask about second baseman Nick Madrigal or right-handed pitcher Michael Kopech, who were trade targets at last season’s Deadline, not to mention left-handed pitcher Garrett Crochet, the team’s top pick in the 2020 Draft. But it seems unlikely the White Sox will disrupt the strong core they have built in what they view as a championship-caliber team. With many of their top young players already contributing at the Major League level, that scenario leaves developing pitching talent as the potentially biggest trade chips. Those names would include right-handed pitchers Jared Kelley (No. 1 White Sox prospect, per MLB Pipeline), Matthew Thompson (No. 3), Jonathan Stiever (No. 4) and Andrew Dalquist (No. 5). https://www.mlb.com/news/one-trade-chip-for-every-mlb-team-in-2021
  2. Don't forget Torres/Chapman, Soler/Wade Davis (although Soler is garbage this year, he raked in 2019-20 for KCR), Candelario to the Tigers, drafting Brendon Little over Nate Pearson, Edwin Jackson/Chatwood/Heyward, not getting anything for Schwarber/Almora, DJ LeMahieu to the Rockies...
  3. Let me guess, you have a Panama hat and take radar readings behind the plate at Dodgers Stadium? You can't be Jerry Krause...
  4. Sounds therapeutic...thankfully, no "happy endings" from certified athletic trainers and PTs. Refuse to go there on the gymnastics issue, can no longer joke about that stuff anymore.
  5. Plastic surgery enhanced vs. sticky substances for spin rate, TJ = ??? Can even have differentiated but loyal followings in Japan/Korea vs. Latin America vs. US.
  6. Spotrac would break it down... but yeah no unique analytical trade secrets, other than having starters like Glasgow, Rich Hill/Dick Mountain (great value signing) and McClanahan hitting 100. Arozarena has been in the mid 700s for OPS. Just bring up Franco and get it over with, already!
  7. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-power-rankings-after-week-9 Rays 1, Sox 2, Padres 3....
  8. It didn’t seem to effect Kyle Lewis, who had his share of doubters on draft day...and still does, between injuries and swing and miss issues. Hasn’t seemed to impact Julio Rodriguez, either. “Baseball is ninety percent mental. The other half is physical.” Yogi Berra
  9. And he had a pretty good record with those 1982-84 Braves teams...
  10. PornSox/SoxHub....in all seriousness, I’m sure there will be moments in the future you’ll want to express your opinion on sports and there won’t be any avenue available and you’ll probably regret it. Like another Giolito no-no.
  11. Not even the Gallo rumors, lol? My cousin in Plano thought Mazara was going to put up monster numbers as middle of the order masher for the Sox...but not to be.
  12. https://www.espn.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/31554219/why-your-favorite-team-more-tampa-bay-rays Interesting stuff...although most is pretty basic analysis. Still worthwhile of our attention. White Sox get a mention for “too much money committed to future payrolls/extensions” category. No mention of 2.9 fWAR for less than one year of Cronenworth and that Blake Snell had his best outing of the season by far against a tough opponent this week and is still on course for a 2+ fWAR...while Patino has yet to prove he can be an effective starter, yet. Also, SD would still be better off with healthy versions of Austin Nola/Caratini than Mejia/Hedges.
  13. This is like an NCAA bb or football program giving themselves the death penalty, lol...
  14. .509, below TLR, and just...fittingly. No postseasons 1995-1997.
  15. Cardinals have lost out on Garcia, Arozarena, Luis Robert and of course Oscar Taveras....a lot to lose from one generation of players. They were just fortunate Price and Heyward hesitated about playing in that “Southern” market.
  16. Why would you sell so early on Burger when he still has to prove he can remain healthy for a full season and can play an above average big league 3B? That provides a lot more value than Sheets, Gonzalez, Adolfo and Rutherford combined. If they get far enough ahead in the second half, personally would like to see Adolfo get some big league at-bats and see if there’s anything there before we lose him for good...that said, it’s 90-95% likely his shot comes from a rebuilding organization with Cespedes and Colas coming up behind him and applying pressure. Of not for all the injuries, he might have been ready in 2020 or definitely this season but unfortunately one too many setbacks it seems.
  17. Garcia? Seems he's more of a corner guy...no doubt, Cain in 2014-15-16 was awesome. Phillips has an A+ arm. JBJr's offense is so horrid he could never be considered for any defensive awards based having to contribute at least something offensively. Inciarte and Juan Lagares really stand out from past years, as well.
  18. Buxton, for sure. Kiermaier used to be right up there. Ramon Laureano has to be considered. Bader, Herrera, Robles and Cain are the next tier, arguably.
  19. This just in. Blue Jays, Rays and Astros are not "trap" series but clearly measuring stick (like NYY and Boston). We do get the Tigers again on the road, which won't be easy with how familiar the teams already are we each other on the early season.
  20. RS/RA current standings 1. White Sox +85 CLE -15 2. LAD +83 3. TBR +75 4. SFG/SDP +70 6. Houston +69 7. Boston +51 Toronto Blue Jays +36 Chicago Cubs +31
  21. 7-0 versus the Tigers, all-time. Unfortunately, not likely to be one of our playoff opponents...
  22. What is the connection between Jerk and sticks, or, perhaps more ominously, Jerks and Ticks?
