    Inverse/reverse?
  2. But the number of teams making it to the LCS/WS outside of the top 10-12 in MLB payroll is equally indicative... It clearly a minority of the playoff teams, especially if you remove the anomalous 16 team field last year...something like 20% That said, the very lowest payroll team has never made it to the post-season, which would be the Indians this year.
  3. Buffoons. Well, no matter how it is spun, a batting average well under .200 isn’t going to be perceived as “great value” by any stretch of the imagination. That said, he should quietly be able to lift his numbers with the team playing well and the rest of the lineup more of less covering up for Grandal and the other key personnel losses.

Ummm...this kind of seems like a secondary concern to the Sox having a deep run in the playoffs. That said, they do go hand in hand for the moment. The Giants, for example, have made a number of excellent pitching moves in the last 18 months and have the tight of payroll to absorb a $40-60 million contract quite easily.
  5. Esteban Loiaza II, minus the post-career descent into cartel work...as not sure they’re appreciating your artistic comparison.
  6. They might have to go with a six man rotation or limit Rodon starts to five innings to get him to the end of the season. I’m sure Boras Corp is on the case formulating suggestions.
  7. Is that right, only the third time since 2006 with a record of 18-13 or better after 31 games? One was obviously 2016, at 23-10 (21-10)... 2020=19-12 2012=14-17 2010=13-18 2008=14-17 2006=22-9
  8. If they are mostly grounders pulled weakly into the shift, it's possible.
  9. We should just be thankful the Indians can’t afford Lindor (who sucks so far for NYM), Carrasco, a fifth starter, an offense in general...their biggest move was Eddie Rosario, for around the same amount Adam Eaton received. Clase got hurt (figuratively) yesterday, but Karinchak’s the most valuable set up/high leverage guy in the majors.
  10. We are currently +10 on the Giants for best RS/RA differential in the majors. 47 versus 37. Cleveland in real time at +15 and just 1/2 game back. Of course, we should really be at least +9-11, maybe 13 games over .500 were it not for the bullpen and overcoming TLR, at least so far.
  11. What topics tonight, I have the Physioc/Hudler feed...on mute, lol
  12. Madrigal almost slashed another single or possibly XBH down the right field line...he’s hitting the ball now with a lot more authority. Does anyone still want Bohm?
  13. Well, another former failed starter in the game to cover innings...Bubic. Probably not the best idea to keep sending lefties out there, though.
  14. Mendick running around like Pods with those pitter-patter short strides...git the job done, lol.
  15. Save some damn runs for tmrw, mercy! On the plus side, Moncada, Yermin, Rodon, Cease are carrying my fantasy team. Wow, didn’t like that slide there at all from Moncada. Just duck your head and get off the field.
  16. 1-2 veteran bullpen arms and a higher quality outfielder for insurance at multiple spots in the lineup. This is all without much from Grandal, either....well, lots of walks. Vaughn is also starting to let the game come to him and believing that he belongs at this level. Those doubles will start becoming homers. But, in some ways, constant runners on base is more unnerving to pitchers than solo shots.
  17. Meanwhile, the Indians are roughing up suddenly vulnerable Luis Castillo...well, 3-1.
  18. Not easy to be a rookie pitcher in the big leagues, unless you’re Fernando or Dwight Gooden. Despite the abysmal .233 major league-wide overall batting average.
  19. Minor is a savvy veteran. They’re certainly not going to skip him...assuming this will be seven losses in a row. Mendick making a bid for more playing time. Might as well IL Eaton and let him heal up 100%.
  20. Moncada’s not far behind. Maybe leftovers from the video production?
  21. Definitely without Buxton and Cy Young for Maeda they’re hurting. Donaldson, Cruz, Arraez and Sano are still dangerous....but I think the real key has been the falloffs from Garver, Polanco, Kepler and the loss of Rosario’s steady presence in the outfield. Yes, a lot of names lol.
