  1. As long as he hits at least 15-18 homers. We can't get less than 25-30 homers out of the outfield over the course of the entire season. Someone mentioned Naquin...after his hot start, he's come back down to earth, not really sure how much of an improvement he'd be other than his familiarity with AL Central teams/pitchers/parks. Maybe we could steal or borrow all of his "Francona notes" lol.
  2. That worked a heckuva lot better when Jermaine Dye was manning RF.
  3. I haven't seen very many realistic names mentioned. Sure, it would be nice to have Ketel Marte, Mitch Haniger or even Starling Marte, but guys like that cost (significantly) more. The Yankees have a logjam when Voit comes back. Maybe Brett Gardner would be willing to play for the White Sox, but he would be blocked by Vaughn and obviously isn't a CFer. Andujar can play 3B, 1B, and DH as well. It wouldn't be all about LF. And, for the time being, Mendick's going to push Lamb out if he keeps this up. So the goal is to improve the bench one player at a time. Eventually, Leury will be back there as well, Collins obviously shares catcher. Would like to have one more really potent bat off the bench. Of course, if Eloy and Robert come back 100%, this isn't a critical need, either, but nobody knows exactly what will transpire.
  4. Except he really doesn't have control anymore. Eaton and Lynn, 100% TLR adds/suggestions. If he actually did have that power, LaRussa wouldn't be manager, someone like Hinch or Bruce Bochy would.
  5. “We’ve got outstanding heart, outstanding spirit,” La Russa said. “Like today, they scored in the first and we watched Lucas battle out of that thing and they come out there and took a bunch of great at-bats.” https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-sweep-royals-on-the-road “I went five-and-dive unfortunately. So, had to tax the bullpen a little bit. They all did a great job,” said Giolito, who ended a personal three-game losing streak. “The defense behind all of us was spectacular today. Seeing that effort, the attentiveness on the defensive side. Every single guy is out there ready for me or whoever is on the bump to deliver that pitch. “And then obviously, [the offense is] just exploding right now, really taking advantage of hittable pitches and when guys are on base, we are getting them in. So, not much to complain about.” “Getting two outs on one batted ball after getting into trouble immediately, definitely needed that,” Giolito said. “It would have been nicer to strike out the side, but you can’t have it exactly how you want it every time. I don’t think anyone on our side was worried about that, knowing what our offense is capable of. “Sure enough, [the White Sox] answered back and I was able to navigate through the next four innings. That’s the word I would use, navigate.”
  6. Rodriguez looks like the hitter Basabe was originally projected to max out as...
  7. Someone from MLB.com predicted 23 bombs and a Chicago promotion in their shocking moves from one prospect in each organization.
  8. Antidisestablishmentarianism...you’re left with the status quo, lol. It’s the default fallback position.
  9. Way way outside. Just don’t get tossed, TA. Not his day.
  10. He’s made the plays he has needed to. But definitely looks more like an infielder playing a relatively new position.
  11. Hard to imagine Sal Perez playing SS and Altuve at 2B growing up together...
  12. Really? Do you have any legitimate insights?
  13. Double clutch costs the White Sox an out probably.
  14. Should we now cheer for the Cubs to linger around in the NL Central race so Ricketts looks like even more of a jackass for trading Bryant, Baez and Rizzo...? Great attempt by Moncada. Abreu couldn’t quite pick it. Hit in the palm of the glove instead of pocket.
  15. Would have liked to see him take a pitch or two. He’s holding his own, but far from the offensive machine he was touted as. Have to hope the light will just flip on and stay on at some point.
  16. Mercedes and Mendick with almost matching BA and OPS now...
  17. Bat flip sorta for a walk. Setting all kinds of records, inexplicable.
  18. Dozier with two nice plays this series. Poor man’s Kris Bryant.
  19. Set that one up with the change. Alberto 142 plate appearances without a single walk.
  20. Really rared back to throw that one...at 92.
  21. There’s literal velocity, and then there’s the hitter’s reaction to it (perceived.) See Kopech, even at 95-96 this year.
  22. Wonder if they do explore a Grandal for McCann flip...the Mets have the money to absorb that deal, if they wanted to. Maybe Yasmani is just more comfortable in the NL, and vice versa with McCann. It’s not about value of two players, it’s all about financial flexibility for Sox.
