  1. There's just NO WAY they're going to push Jimenez up quickly this year when it's a lost season...and we have a really good shot at the #1 overall draft pick in 2019. Besides, if prospective free agents need to see Kopech and Jimenez play in the major leagues first before they're convinced to sign with the White Sox...we don't need 'em, right?
  2. It's good for the players (and organization) to see them make All-Star teams and get rewarded for their excellent play. Nothing's FORCING Jimenez to go to AA until after June 19th or whatever the date is. Reading the tea leaves from Hahn, they seem pretty set on holding him back into the start of 2019...Kopech's the one who is much likelier to be moved up (obvious statement of the day).
  3. On the plus side, if you put together Sanchez/Davidson at 3B and can limit Palka to DHing, then you might actually have something. Now, all we need to do is come up with 2 outfielders (one is Jimenez, obviously) and Collins/Zavala look like they will be at least league average (at worst). Theoretically, I think you sign one veteran FA outfielder (Pollock, Brantley, etc.) not named Harper, a veteran "value" 2/3 starter and bullpen help and you're not THAT far off in this division...especially with the Indians watching Encarncacion decline, Miller will be gone, Brantley won't be in their price range, and Kipnis has sucked but he's been one of their clubhouse leaders and a productive player until last year and will be missed more than they think.
  4. Has FOX News talked about anything besides Roseanne and free speech today? Trump probably thinks he can order ABC to put the show back into production...
  5. Thought Kopech was focusing mostly on changeup, Stone Pony?
  6. Rizzo was affected by the Florida school shooting at his h.s. so he deserves a free pass. Maddon hasn’t argued that yet.
  7. Speaking of Ronnie “Sunshine” Bass (Clevinger’s doppelgänger)...rewatching Remember the Titans would be a good choice if this one gets into blowout territory. Anderson has now passed Moncada in OPS.
  8. Maybe we should just sign Brantley if we want to beat the Indians...? Probably would be hurt all the time. Giolito ERA up to 7.71.
  9. How did Narvaez have a 1.5 war last year? Yikes. Might as well bring back Nieto. We now have an ideal Sam Hinkie roster construction.
  10. Clevinger looks like a cross between Loki, the kid on Slackers and Tim Lincecum.
  11. Hard to imagine trading Sal Perez at anything less than peak value...and, if they deal Duffy, they're still stuck with bad contracts for the likes of Alex Gordon and Ian Kennedy, so there's no digging out of this mess anytime soon. Soler actually has some value now...and I'm pretty sure two more years of control at least. Merrifield would be another. But that's a complete teardown, like the White Sox are doing. Trading Perez, Duffy, Moustakas, Herrera, Soler and Merrifield still isn't going to bring back nearly the return the Sox got back in return for their Big 3, unfortunately for the Royals. It's MORE likely they move Moustakas and Herrera and continue trying to supplement the "core" of remaining guys I already mentioned. Rock and a hard place, for sure. Of course, they have a huge bounty of high draft picks and pool compensation dollars available this June, but that's not a short-term solution.
  12. Remillard with 2 doubles and a homer (3) in Winston-Salem's blowout win Looks like Basabe came out of the game early. Booker had 2 outfield assists. Finally, Tanner Banks has been pitching well.
  13. That's true, but with how good Torres and Jimenez look....it feels like they might have limited themselves, where they end up in the playoffs consistently but don't win another. I guess that's wishful thinking from a Sox fan perspective, that Cubs' fans get "bored" with winning but frustrated their team's not quite as good as Houston/Boston/NYY, etc. Of course, adding a Harper or Machado could change all of that...but it would be a gamble. And no, that never stopped Theo in Boston (fear of making the wrong FA acquisition or a bad trade), so I'm not sure why it would in Chicago.
  14. Still don't see any way that Jimenez is up before September...and, at that point, they might as well wait until his cutoff point in early 2019.
  15. Giolito might be making his last major league start for a while tmrw....
  16. Another error, although technically a passed ball. Hahn and JR should be embarrassed by this one.
  17. Poor David Robertson. Yeah, that actually HURT a couple of years ago...blowing that 5 or 6 run against the Royals when we were still within hailing distance of 1st place. This is more annoying/comical/have to watch due to the “car crash/house on fire” nature of it it....to see how bad it can actually get. Isn’t that Fry’s first earned run given up this year?
  18. Fisher isn’t ready yet for AAA...but they might as well send up Polo because he’s just organizational filler at this point.
  19. Gonzalez wouldn’t be on a big league roster on any team but the Chicago White Sox this year. It’s criminal how bad he is offensively...we just have to hope he doesn’t get injured somehow, or injure one of his teammates.
  20. American Movie is one of the best MOCKUMENTARY films of ALL-TIME. Check it out...it’s a classic. (The Coven was the name of the movie within a movie they were supposedly filming.)
  21. Well, we only get to see the Sox go 0-19 against the Indians for 1 out of every 5 1/2 games over the remainder of the season. That should be fun. And they BETTER not blow that #1 overall pick in 2019. Of course, the White Sox offense just lies down and gives up without even a feeble response to that debacle of a half-inning. Ricky’s Boys Quit (in this case).
  22. I can understand Renteria trying to protect Dylan Covey, who should have been out of that inning with no problems...but he always overmanages, even for an AL manager. It’s not the 7th freaking game of the World Series.
  23. You just knew this was going to happen after the Indians coming back from 5 down against one of the best teams in baseball...they’re really tough at beat at home. I know we need more offensive-minded players at Guaranteed Rate Field, but could Hahn actually find a couple of defenders that can put up a 600+ OPS? Now the errors are basically like a virus that’s spread across the entire team.
