QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 03:36 PM) Don't we see enough cpmplaining about Danks and Samardzija ( myself included on this one)? Now we're going to add one of Drabek, Johnson, Carroll to that mix? Dear god no. I can see using one of those three to replace Samardzija's spot in 2016 while the Sox wait for Fulmer, Montas,Danish. But to replace Q? No thanks. Maybe this team needs to learn how to draft better hitters. Besides. Trading Q for offense is not going to help Cabrera, Eaton and LaRoche ( better lately) swing better bats. If there's no way to improve the offense internally over the next 2-3 years...other than Micah, Anderson, Hawkins and maybe Trey M., what's the argument for keeping Sale, Abreu, Robertson and Quintana? Because buying aging free agents at topline value definitely's not working. You are almost forced to make moves where you hope to get two or three (young) above-average hitters for your most valuable assets...then use your ability to identify and develop pitchers to build around Rodon and Fulmer.

http://pro.boxoffice.com/latest-news/2015-...rong-185m-start Jurassic World was originally projected to do $110-140 million. Revised all the way up to $180-220 million and breaking tons of records. Might be the third highest opening of all-time. Congrats to Chris Pratt...who's also reported to be the leading candidate to reprise the beloved role of Dr. Indiana Jones.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jun 13, 2015 -> 10:39 AM) Jose Quintana and Matt Davidson for Nolan Arenado and Jordan Lyles? Would both teams do it? No way Colorado does that deal. They're much more interested in trading Tulo and Cargo. Arenado is their main building block in the everyday line-up and hugely underrated.

But we should fire Cooper. Actually, Parent has never been all that impressive, either. Since we can't "fire" the likes of Eaton, Cabrera and Alexei, maybe we should try a different (outside the box) approach from a coaching standpoint.

QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:58 PM) He's 24, and you can already tell he'll age like s***. It happened much later with Magglio...we dont know how much the PEDs helped, of course. Quentin would be another example. -

That comeback was shortlived. Two chances to go to Putnam down by just one run. -

Toronto was down 8-1 to Boston and managed to tied it...bases loaded with no outs in the seventh, still batting. Hottest team in baseball. -

QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:35 PM) Never a top quartile IMO, but he is not a very good major league player right now. He is very lucky he got the contract extension from RH. Defensively. -

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) I agree, start Rodon over Danks all day... First, his innings are going to be limited. Second, Beck and Johnson are the replacements and they don't still trust EJ's return 100% as of yet. -

And that's why the White Sox will never go on a long winning streak beyond 3-4 games this year. Danks has been terrible in 4 of his last 5. Flowers can't catch and we can't even stop a lousy offense. Another misplay by Eaton. -

Was he out? Hard to overturn. Another John Danks non-quality start, albeit not helped out by Abreu. 28 challenges, 43% successful. He's safe. Now 12/29 for 41%, not counting the one that lost us a game because it wasn't challenged. -

Well, wouldn't be a White Sox game without a defensive miscue. This Rays' line-up has to be worse than ours offensively. Luckily they have Archer. Still should be manager of the year so far, or Molitor. -

Viciedo holding out for Major League deal
caulfield12 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If Viciedo and Semien go on to have careers out there, it will make that Samardzija deal look even worse, lol. All we had to do was keep Viciedo, trade for Donaldson instead and sign Brett Anderson on the cheap. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) Another crazy NL central injury situation is what's happened to Cincinnati. Last night, they only started 3 (Votto, Frazier and Bruce) of their main 8 offensive players coming into the season. 2 are out of the year, 1 is out for a few months and 2 have nagging injuries. They're going to unload Cueto after the ASB. And Chapman, who Don Cooper will reconvert into a starter by teaching him the Jason Bere foschball as an offspeed offering.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 12, 2015 -> 01:33 PM) Damn. This shows true work ethic. Robin offered to fly back to manage on Sunday. Kudos to Hahn for telling him to take the whole weekend off. I wish the people on here would reconsider their position on Robin missing these games. The guy normally works more than 70 hours a week easy during baseball season and gets paid for 40 hours. The guy is going to his daughter's graduation and volunteered to come back for Sunday's game. If he came back Sunday he would be a complete idiot. The Scrooges should just admit they were wrong and wish Robin well. Finally, I repeat: Robin managing the games means nothing. A trained chimp could manage a baseball game. He's an average to rotten manager to begin with. Cut the guy some slack. Admit you were wrong, please! Nobody who has even a minor league contract expects to work less than 80-100 hours a week without overtime. If you treat baseball as a 9 to 5 job as a player or front office person, you won't last long. Of ocourse, the off season is more relaxed but still not typical, either.
