QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:38 PM) With Melky/Avi/Gillaspie/Johnson likely starting, it has the makings of a mediocre defense. Just have to hope those guys hit enough to overcome their defense. Not to mention Abreu over LaRoche and any time Soto plays a position other than DH.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:32 PM) WTF? I know Viciedo is gone, that happened weeks ago. I was busy for a couple days and now it's become completely impossible to understand your name dropping. You're dropping names of people we released in the same sentence as people still on the roster and I have no idea which is which. Does anyone have an actual list of OFs in Charlotte? Are Mitchell and Thompson in our minor league camp? I can't figure this out any more. Im thinking ahead....Viciedo at .241 with just one ribbie, no homers and mid 600s OPS this spring for Toronto. If he gets cut again, looking at our likely Charlotte OF, I have a feeling Hahn asks him back as insurance policy. Theres no list that im aware of....but has to be Thompson Mitchell Engel Beltre and possibly Shuck if we pick up another player in the final two weeks. Thats why Leury or even Viciedo should be options. Id rather give dh at bats to Dayan than Wilkins or Black as well.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Thompson and Mitchell aren't at AAA? Did I miss them getting outrighted last week? Projecting....or Shuck and Viciedo could join them.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) Focus was God awful. Stay away. Not even fun. Margot Robbie's hotness doesnt compensate? What the hell happened to Will Smith's career dominance? Marital problems....ego run amuck (After Earth)? Too much time worrying about son's career? McFarland, USA it is then.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:19 PM) Leury ought to work as an actual super-sub. Every one of those guys along with the OFs can sit one day a week. That's 5-6 games Leury could play a week, and that's assuming no one gets hurt which will happen at some poitn. He should get lots of OF time as well. Nobody to really block at AAA. Thompson, Mitchell, Beltre....Campana and Taylor are gone already.

The White Sox will not offer Hector Olivera

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) Now I am pulling this from the article you posted, but there's a good chance Olivera is out for the year because he needs a TJ surgery. The LA FO has said he fits will in 2016. We shall see. That tv deal is ruining baseball competitive balance. According to an industry source, though, a recent MRI on Olivera's elbow showed a slight tear in the UCL. His contract includes a clause that gives the team a seventh season at $1 million if he needs Tommy John surgery. source: mlb.com -
QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 03:02 PM) 3 Sox hitters have been hit by a pitch today. Where's CQ and AJ when u need them?

Has anyone seen Focus? Top American movie here in China is Taken 3. Yucks. Cinderella and Big Hero 6 off the charts successes. Jupiter Ascending topping U.S. Box office Numbers. Thankfully Kingsman Secret Service is out this Fri.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 02:56 PM) Uribe, Kendrick and Rollins are all FAs after the year. Cant imagine wasting what could be his best remaining Mlb season and $10 million on a bench player...if you take his $28 million signing bonus into consideration, its an even costlier budget line item. Then theres the $50 plus million tied to Guerrero and C. Rondon-lite. -
Sale to throw simulated game Friday. 75 pitches. No timetable on actual Cactus League return.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 24, 2015 -> 02:51 PM) If that is the standard they must think more of him than Salado no who was sent packing earlier. Chef's or Chicken Ceasar Salad(o)?

http://minors.mlblogs.com/2013/12/06/what-...to-an-mlb-team/ Arruebarrueana sounds a lot like Leury and Rondon. Alex Guerrero and Juan Uribe both just became expendable. Dodgers have Kendrick, Rollins and still need to find room for top propect Kyle Seager...and Olivera as well. 3b? http://www.latimes.com/sports/dodgers/dodg...0324-story.html Expensive "win now" insurance policy for Juan Uribe/Seager at third. Might not start until year 31 season. -

Yay....the mods can celebrate, haha. Actually, they now have three arguably overpaid middle infielders from Cuba....and just signed a backend starter/long man for $8 million as well. Now we can officially change this to the Vladimir Gutierrez/Yadier Alvares thread!!! Sponsored by LDF. http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...nt-sign-july-2/ -
Gordon Beckham of course right there in the middle of it all...no doubt with Hawkeroo in tow. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/114...white-sox-party

More ESPN nonsense, Eaton not among Top Ten CFers
caulfield12 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Surprised they didn't put Byron Buxton in top five. By the way, the Twins have a quandary with Escobar, Salazar and Hicks...finding pt for all three. Ideally, theyd have Hicks in Cf, Salazar at SS and Escobar superutility. -
F. Gutierrez/J.Montero available for bench roles?

Mike Pelfrey and Erasmo Ramirez (M's) on the trading block. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 12:44 PM) I'm guessing Hawkins is more 2017, if he makes it. He's still just 21 years old, would be 23 for the entire 2017 season. And he has showed he's still quite raw. He has already jokingly predicted 2016 MLB Roy. -

Next season's B10 ... how would you rank them?

QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 04:30 PM) Valentine's a junior, and I wouldn't be shocked if Melo Trimble goes pro. Without Melo, Maryland should be more in the 7-8 range. Ooops, confused him and Dawson. No chance he goes pro, right? Dawson's the one shaped like Kirby Puckett/NFL running back? (Sorry, never get to see the games until NCAA tourney every year.) Hayes, at this point, doesn't seem like he's a surefire 1st round draft pick or anything like that. I'd put him more in Aaron White territory, very late first round but more likely second round. -
1. MD 2. MI (if LaVert returns) 3. WI (lose Kaminsky and maybe Dekker) 4. Purdue 5. Indiana (4/5 could easily switch depending on what transpires with Crean/personnel) 6. MSU (lose Trice/Valentine, adding 5 star recruit) 7. tOSU (Russell a huge loss to NBA, obviously) 8. Iowa (bubble team with 5-6 freshman mixed with a decent core of Uthoff/Gesell/Woodbury/Jok/Clemmons/Uhl, Uthoff becomes NBA first rounder and blossoms as he comes out from under Aaron White's shadow) 9. Illinois 10. Minnesota 11. NW (trending back up with Colllins, A BIT) 12. Nebraska (Petteway returns, can they get up off the deck?) 13. Rutgers (could easily be last...but they did mystifyingly beat WI) 14. PSU (loses Newbill) When you look at 7-12, you can make a million arguments for any of those teams being higher or lower. I'm 90% confident that Top 6...at least 4 or 5 of those teams will be there.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Mar 23, 2015 -> 03:56 PM) Jose hasn't looked very good this spring. Thank god it means jack. Assuming you mean Quintana, not Abreu.
