  1. Sosa on a tear recently... Bring back Paddy lol?
  2. Combined together vs. individual value of de Vries
  3. Any response from Osik?
  4. Not to mention there MIGHT be a team like the Yankees (too late there, moved on from Pereza) who needed that specific defense-first utility guy for the post season. Just put him on waivers and at least see if there's a claim.
  5. Well...have to cheer for any bad outcomes for the Cubs. Pretty sure Vaughn already has almost 30 RBIs now with Milwaukee.
  6. More like a freak play...how many times do you see that happen in such a key situation? Maybe once or twice a season?
  7. "extremely valuable," when the occupy the last roster spot on those teams?😀 doesn't that make Getz dumb for getting rid of them?
  8. Just like last year....when the success rate with relievers was probably 1/6, everything equals out.
  9. 300 .903 Romy Gonzalez 241 .699 Andrew Vaughn, two more RBIs Soroka to DL after one appearance with the Cubs.
  10. Please just dfa Rojas...

  12. And to be honest the downtown area always had a bad reputation...whether it was racism, homelessness, the Olympics bomber, that location kind of was jinxed compared to the "safer/comfortable" suburbs. It would be interesting to see the subtle and not so subtle shifts in the racial composition of Braves' fans across the two parks. Plus all the complaints about spoiled Braves' fans not showing up even in the post season when they were on that run of consecutive appearances. Which tied into complaints about Paragraph 1 and ease of access at night from the suburbs.
  13. Also feels like the X would have a downward arrow for Guaranteed Rate (three years of 100+ losses).
  14. Yikes. Ishbia will want to get away from Bulls' ties. Can say it's 1959 reminiscent...but most will think Jordan still. Or make a Jumpman logo that works for baseball without being reminiscent of the 80s style batsman. Also can't just make it Jumpman with a baseball glove and ball falling into it. Too similar.
  15. A little like David Ortiz career trajectory...he won't make HoF obviously but huge numbers offensively into 30s.
  16. Texas second stadium didn't last long at all...but especially Philly Cincy Pittsburgh St.Louis, the cookie cutter round stadiums with AstroTurf. Astrodome and Kingdome. Braves' stadium after the Olympics.
  17. See, you know too much about the Cubs lol...and no more Abreu to criticize. Maybe criticized Dansby Swanson for missing 1B yesterday.
  18. The Padres don't have the type of money now to pay the amount Boston extended him for... And the White Sox still probably needed that pure SS in Carson with Colson M. sliding to 3B. SD doesn't believe de Vries will stick at SS as he grows out of the position over the next 2-3 years. And their #3 guy (traded in deal) wasn't that hyped last year. B.Montgomery and Teel > de Vries But those who believe de Vries will be a superstar despite leaving SS would go with him. That said, Campbell was off the table for Crochet and he's really struggled this season compared to expectations after making the massive prospect jump last year. Also SD at the time wouldn't trade de Vries AND Salas.
  19. They were going to have the $70 million they were previously making cut quite dramatically either way...
  20. Are Cubs' fans really that tied to Tucker after just one season? The surprise success of both PCA and the Brewers would make one think that investing in the starting rotation might be the better move.
  21. Not sure Tucker at his age is worth 8-10 years and $400+ million, and therein lies the dilemma The problem is they can't miss. Machado Harper and Wheeler deals all would have worked. Two of those guys will likely go into the HoF as Phillies and Padres minus career-altering injuries. Just not quite sure Tucker isn't just one level below that surefire HoF track. Ofc we all know the Sox aren't going to be active in chasintrack in FA, because all the surplus value in that contract is going to be crammed into his first 2-3 seasons, whereas the White Sox won't be truly competitive until 2028...unless let's say Tarik Skubal gets injured in the 2026 season. Counting on injuries is about as reliable as counting on JR spending going into the labor impasse.
