  1. QUOTE (onedude @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 11:20 PM) isn't brent supposedly the fastest guy on the team as well? More or less...between him and DeAza.
  2. Thornton will definitely give up a homer here. Inevitably, he tires in his 2nd or 3rd inning of work. Probably putting in Crain. Stewart's not going to survive the middle of their order.

  4. Where is Lillibridge going there? JUST STUPID STUPID STUPID BASEBALL. We really don't deserve to win this game. The Indians have withstood 17 hits and 5 triples.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 11:14 PM) I'm shocked he hit a ground ball to 3rd baseman. That has happened at least 33% of the time this season. Luckily it wasn't a double play ball. 1920 the last time they had five triples. The year after the Black Sox team.
  6. Ramirez is ALMOST as bad as Beckham in this situation. He had an absolute cookie to get the ball in the air or hit it out and he missed it. Now you have the sense that we might not even score...and there will be no recovering from leaving Rios at 3B. 17 versus 9 hits.
  7. 5 triples in one night. 1908? Last time with 4 was 1973.
  8. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 11:08 PM) The only one I can think of is the one against the Pirates I think when they threw the intentional walk pitch over the catcher, and we scored and won. Pirates or Angels?
  9. Have to win this game now before we face the meat of their order again in the 12th. Rios walk-off? He better, because his few remaining fans never want to see him play for the White Sox again after tonight.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 11:02 PM) Only two, thanks to Alexei both times Does that count the balk-off against Aaron Crow? Or that was in KC? EDIT: Haha, had to be a home game to end it.
  11. Typical Matt Thornton runner in scoring position. Nobody kills the ball off him (except Jim Thome) but he always seems to find ways to put runners on base this season.
  12. Of course. And then there's the excitement of Rios leading off the bottom of the 11th to look forward to.
  13. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Aug 16, 2011 -> 10:56 PM) And he's making $14 million. I'm not saying that it's right but thats a big reason. $12.5 million, Dunn's at $14
  14. Oh, crap...Rios is on deck. Forgot about that. BOO BOO BOO when he fails to come through after giving the Indians the tie off Santos basically.
  15. Chris Perez against Konerko and Quentin? Gutsy move here by Acta. We know how it would work when they used Jenks in this situation. Not well for us. Lip from Sipp gives the Indians Zip while waiting for Wally Pipp. Tony tossed from the game for arguing with Wally Cool Papa Bell.
  16. Great bunt by De Aza. That's what speed and proper execution will get you. Put pressure on the defense. Sipp was tagged there instead of the runner.
  17. The old 1/32nd of an inch miss. Would be nice if Juan Pierre could actually steal a base here. Don't guess, Juan. Sox almost doubling their hit total, 15 to 8.
  18. The weird thing is that we would be 8-1 against the Indians if we win...but doesn't really feel like it with how they've battled back over and over again tonight. Sox 5-10 in extra innings.
  19. How does Thornton not have a single win all season long?
  20. The same stupid crap he's been swinging at all season. It would almost be better if he was so-so defensively so they'd have a legit reason to send him to Charlotte instead of letting him struggle so much in Chicago.
  21. Gee, that's about as surprising as a Dunn strikeout or Rios misplay in CF. Beckham needs to be benched for Lillibridge.
  22. 4 triples in one game? July 30th, 1973 the last time that happened in Sox history. Lance Johnson once had 3 triples in a single game, individually. Flowers and DeAza providing some hope for the future of this organization. Beckham certainly hasn't. Morel...well, who knows? 0% confidence in a Beckham hit here. Which means he'll probably come through just because...
  23. Of course, we're 5-10 or something like that in extra innings...maybe worse? Would the White Sox be better off if they played their games in front of a completely empty home stadium?
  24. If Rios is the starting CFer on this team next year, they might as well not even play the season. It will be just more of the same. We'd be better off with Ozzie and Carlos Zambrano than Rios. Rios catches that stupid ball and it's a game-ending double play. You'd swear he was taking money to throw games with the way he's played defensively this season.
  25. Isn't that every single bad Santos appearance has been at home? All four of his blown saves and another one where he entered with the game tied in extras? Just had a feeling about this one after the Hafner homer and we left YET ANOTHER runner stranded at 2B after 2 chances to get him in.
