  1. Funny you mention 29. That's Jake Burger's age right now. In the end, that trade for Eder turned out to be a big nothing burger, but at least the Marlins got a playoff run out of it.
  2. If you draft a SS or CF, they can basically play anywhere on the field...otoh, if you draft corner guys, it's so much more difficult for them to ever convert and play up the middle. We've spent five years now trying to find a 2B and a replacement for Tim Anderson.
  3. Fletcher? DeLoach? Julks is arguably the one who has hit the best and most consistently, but the White Sox seem to have given up on all three of these guys, along with Elko, Colas, etc. Alex.Canario has a 641 OPS for the Pirates...watching him at age 24 would be a lot more fun than Palacios, who seems to be Venable's new favorite player with Maton off the roster.
  4. That will be blamed on Walter McKinven...along with Capra, lol. Shane Smith, on the other hand, was all Getz. This is somehow worse than last year, because the mood around the team isn't hopeless...but they're boring as hell and have almost zero power outside the veteran hitters and Vargas. Baldwin and Quero have not surprisingly struggled...leaving fans with only Kyle Teel to get excited about. (Things are so bad for the Rockies that they turned to Keston Hiura.)
  5. Shane Smith is also at 57 IP at the 1/3rd mark of the season. Only threw 94.3 IP last year. Highly doubt they're going to have him nearly double his count this season.
  6. But, knowing the White Sox, they'll put Tauchman out there in center and get him hurt again...
  7. This game is so boring I'm switching to the Rockies leading 5 to 4 over the Marlins in Miami...lol. 9-51 or 10-50 (27-135 pace)?
  8. As long as they bring up Fletcher and let him play CF...watching Michael A. Taylor for another 4 months makes absolutely zero sense.
  9. Might as well ask Robert to go to AZ, too...at this rate, they're going to have to PAY a team like the Dodgers to avoid the $10 million or so that he's still due for 2025 (along with the 2026 buyout).
  10. Yermin-Gate? Is that the year our 3B (ex-Royal) took out Anderson's knee, or was it 2022? Maybe they DON'T acquire Kimbrel? Then we don't stubbornly QO him, end up with Pollock (who took less to depart for SEA)...leading to the ill-fated Benintendi contract, the last big mistake of Hahn's.
  11. Last 3 Flaherty starts vs. the White Sox, 1.56 ERA and 0.92 WHIP.
  12. It would at least make Getz look dumb for signing him 3 times. Or was it Hahn once? It doesn't really matter at this point...but only the FIRST signing actually worked out, and that didn't consider his impact on the clubhouse (which of course the Sox claimed was 100% positive).
  13. Well, if the Sox lose and Rockies somehow beat the Marlins tonight, we'll STILL be EIGHT games ahead of them in the standings.
  14. Go with a legit SS who can actually hit (or convert to the OF) or CF (any besides Jace)....
  15. Pull Cannon...put him on the IL until he's 100% Bring up some journeyman like Scholtens or McKendry to get massacred. Clevinger would be fun, but then they're running out of guys on the 40 man. Wikelman? He's been in relief recently.
  16. He wouldn't be leading mlb in steals if that was the case.
  17. They waited at least two weeks too long from his peak at Charlotte...
  18. Even Sox die hard posters are struggling with Palacios still...another of those "he is what he is" guys. His Sox and Pirates ops numbers are virtually identical. Guys like Rojas and Capra are totally superfluous on this roster.

A closer look at his potential MLB role What position will he play? Where will he hit in the lineup? Beat writer Jaylon Thompson offers some predictions Caglianone is that change. The Royals needed a spark after scoring one run in their last 18 innings. At 31-29, the Royals have clung to a winning record behind a pitching staff that’s carried the load for far too long. For weeks, the Royals resisted the urge to promote Caglianone. He needed to cut down his chase rate and walk more. There was also the transition to the outfield and a learning curve that followed. Caglianone had the best help possible. Longtime Royals coach Rusty Kuntz spent ample time working with him in the outfield. The Royals also deployed Caglianone in the outfield at least three games a week. Read more at: https://www.kansascity.com/sports/mlb/kansas-city-royals/article307675841.html#storylink=cpy
  22. Braden under 250/800...going to take until the second half of 2026.
  23. Just what the Royals need. They've scored two or less runs in more games than the Sox.
  24. Except pitching injuries are much likelier to occur…every reconstructed elbow a ticking time bomb.
