Which White Sox hitter (after Robert) will be MLB Top 15 fWAR?
2025 only...was tempted to go Montgomery, but not sure how many games he gets at SS this season. Same with Teel/Quero. Will be interesting to see how different the MLB Pipeline take on Quero is tonight on MLBNetwork...he finished 100-115ish at BA.

If Robert wants out of Chicago...he's going to have to play his way off the roster during the first half of the season.

Which White Sox hitter (after Robert) will be MLB Top 15 fWAR?
I will go with Robert, the catcher's spot and Josh Rojas if he gets enough time defensively at SS 3B 2B. Didn't have room to fit Meidroth or Ramos...no Fletcher or Colas either. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders/major-league?stats=bat&lg=all&type=8&season=2024&month=0&season1=2024&ind=0&pos=cf&qual=350&pagenum=2&pageitems=30 Notice Robert tied with Kelenic and bottom 5-6 in the majors for CF last year. Hard to imagine him having a worse year defensively...

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
Even if they asked for all the tea in China, it was dumb not to pay off ALL of Fedde's remaining contract for the #45 FV prospect. But there's NO WAY that was the Twins' ask (and the Pohlads/Falvey know JR's financial/spending history, it is the same as their own except for Correa and Lopez)...as he wasn't nearly to that level of hyped MiLB prospect in July and there was the injury issue as well.

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
You asserted that I had said that one hitter alone was worth a potentially 8 fWAR swing...unfortunately, only one guy in the entire AL Central fits that description. Definitely not on the White Sox.

WestEddy...wouldn't your energies be better spent cold calling season ticket holders and encouraging/motivating them to attend SoxFest?

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
Getz is just THAT good, right? Oh that's right, he was complaining this off season that other GMs weren't being as forthcoming as he was in trade negotiations...

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
My coworker's in Ho Chi Minh City. I will be at Xishuangbanna, done with Terracotta Warriors/Xi'an...it's near the Golden Triangle of Myanmar Thailand Laos and Cambodian borders meeting, but still technically in China.

"Hitter was discussed"...sure the Twins are going to send Jenkins and Rodriguez too. Brooks Lee as well. Why not? Keachsall Culpepper Raya Festa the only logical names in play...maybe Matthews.

Does he realize how long Hayes covered the White Sox/Chicago sports before being exiled to the Twin Cities?

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
What next, McCarthy and Fletcher weren't both offered...pick one of two, for Mena? What's hilarious here is the White Sox and Tigers both avoided intradivisional trades (the other for John Flaherty) which eventually provided the Dodgers WS MVP Edman Kopech and Flaherty... But they sure showed those pesky Twins!!! Without those three guys, the Dodgers likely don't even get past the Padres, let alone win a World Series. But be careful what you wish for...those frustrations helped lead to a Pohlad Family surrender. They're likely selling the team to even more deep-picked investors like the Ishbia's, making the Sox future competition even stiffer for 2026-2029.

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
https://twinsdaily.com/forums/topic/67920-3-factors-that-worked-against-the-twins-at-the-trade-deadline-other-than-money/page/2/ "Why take a lesser package just to avoid trading a guy with 1 more year on their deal to a division rival when you're rebuilding next year anyways? Focusing on other teams when you're rebuilding is a terrible strategy. Who cares where your guys go, especially when they're rentals or on short deals? The focus should be on getting the best possible package to help your team get back to being competitive. If the Sox (or Tigers) did in fact take lesser packages just to keep Fedde or Flaherty out of the division they are going to continue to bring up the rear in the Central." The only way the divisional rivalry would come into play would be if you had two equivalent talent returns on the table. Period.

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
https://www.sportsmockery.com/chicago-white-sox/white-sox-declined-top-twins-prospect-for-erick-fedde/ The answers are all here. Dan Hayes worked in Chicago for years, he’s not just going to make something up. The Chicago White Sox got an underwhelming return for pitcher Erick Fedde. It sounds like the Sox could have done better had they decided to make a deal with their division rival, the Minnesota Twins. The team preferred to trade Fedde outside of the AL Central. .@DanHayesMLB on how certain trade deadline deals didn't get done because teams aren't willing to trade within their division. "You don't want to see your rivals win. ... That's ego." pic.twitter.com/aMihiClgPn — Foul Territory (@FoulTerritoryTV) August 1, 2024 The White Sox were reported before the trade deadline expired to want to avoid dealing within the division, and that was bad business. The Athletic's Dan Hayes is correct when he pointed out that general manager Chris Getz owed it to the franchise to get the best deal possible and not hope the Twins do not win anymore. https://southsideshowdown.com/posts/chicago-white-sox-made-huge-trade-demand-from-division-rival-erick-fedde-before-settling-bad-3-team-deal Getz also asked for three players in his original request, Twins counter was #4 prospect Luke Keachsall.

White Sox considering Rojas, Meidroth at SS
Rojas…not Ramos, former Mariners 2B-3B. Although lots want to put RAMOS at second, 1B, DH or corner OF, specifically RF. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/226273/ Meidroth has rarely played SS, but did play some in the International League, AAA, this season.

"Chris Getz belongs in a mental institution." Have never bet on baseball, ever, lol. Just college football bowl season and NCAA BB tourney. Even fantasy football and baseball with no cash involved.

Getz feels White Sox are headed in the right direction
Nope McCarthy instead of Fletcher. Plus Fedde vs. Vargas/Keachsall That's TWO transactions which you convenient ignored... And I wrote 6-8 fWAR as a range of outcomes...although knowing what a hypothetical player would have produced on the worst team in baseball is pointless. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/four-minnesota-twins-prospects-make-coveted-top-100-list/ar-AA1xFbx8?ocid=BingNewsSerp Both #45 prospect Keachsall or let's say Jose de Paula would be worth at least twice if not not three times all of Fedde's remaining salary on his Sox contract. It's just that JR would never see it that way...but it was available if Getz could have convinced his owner. Ofc, Luke wasn't officially a Top 100 let alone Top 50 prospect officially until well after the season was over.

White Sox considering Rojas, Meidroth at SS
Rojas is the most likely guess until Montgomery is ready in May/June or Baldwin flat out plays him. That also buys MLB time/at-bats for Vargas Sosa and maybe Meidroth at 3B and 2B...so Ramos to the minors, with Montgomery at SS for now at Charlotte.

Roki Sasaki Free Agency - Dodgers vs Blue Jays for Roki's heart
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43520552/mlb-2025-los-angeles-dodgers-spending-payroll-baseball-future-roki-sasaki-shohei-ohtani This story details the in-person stops that Toronto SD and LA pulled off to convince Sasaki...Toronto specoalized pitching recommendations to help him recover 1-2 mph on his 2023 FB really stand out here. No mention of the White Sox lol...more praise for Toronto beating out some of the other big favorites. https://sports.yahoo.com/analysis-past-trade-deadline-scrambles-113046937.html

Greatest baseball story of the year: HOFer Ichiro #51
Forgot about Bo...he started out as a CFer before the hip problems. Obviously one of the greatest all-around athletes in modern history, true five tool talent (well not exactly a refined pure hitter ofc).

White Sox considering Rojas, Meidroth at SS
along with Montgomery and Baldwin. https://www.mlb.com/news/white-sox-have-high-hopes-for-colson-montgomery-in-2025 Why why why sign Rojas...then immediately move him away from the two positions where he's most comfortable? Meidroth already has questions about his 2B defense and then you move to an even more demanding position? https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/293269/ Meidroth did play some SS in the IL last year but far from his ideal position. https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/200222/ Rojas last played SS in 2021.

Soxfest back for 2025
That's ONE way of deflecting blame. Fans quickly forget that Krause was working as a Sox scout in Brazil/South America near the end of his life...

Off-Season Pass the Time Catch-All
Those idiots at MLBN put Acuna at #7 RFer due to 2022/24. Pretty sure I would bet him #1 again before Profit clearing a 700 ops for the Braces for the second year in a row. He was so bad in 2023 he almost got the Rodon 2021 $3 million contract offer. Great bargain for one season on a team in the process of slashing almost $100 million in payroll.
