March 18, 20251 yr Not a sprained one as the initial diagnoses said a few days ago; from DVS story in the Sun-Times: Rojas has hairline fracture The news for infielder Josh Rojas is not as good. Venable said Rojas suffered a hairline fracture making a tag at third base Saturday. It wasn’t immediately known how much time Rojas, who initially thought he sprained the toe, will need to be ready to play. “Hopefully he’s back here with us soon,” Venable said. “From what I’ve heard, it’s pain tolerance. I don’t think there’s anything he can do running around out there that’s going to make it worse. It’s about him being comfortable and running out there. But obviously it’s fractured. He’s in some pain now. So we’ll give him his time to heal up and just do everything we can to support him.”

Opens up spot for Meidroth or Baldwin potentially...or Ramos. Nick Maton and Tristan Gray would be the major dark horse candidates. Edited March 18, 20251 yr by caulfield12

Could be but I figured as it was initially thought to be a a strain it was chipped and something just got lost in translation. Regardless minor issue he won't miss much time.

It's supporting it and allowing time to heal and play as pain permits.
March 18, 20251 yr I had a fractured toe that was missed on initial X-ray and they told me to use heating pad on it in case it was cellulitis. The pain that night was worse than a kidney stone. And no, my doctor wasn’t with the Sox.

I'm sure all of MLB is keeping their powder dry for the inevitable Alexander Canario DFA. LOL. Perhaps Nick Maton could text Canario and tell him what it feels like to be on base in a baseball game. Canario hasn't had that experience for a couple of weeks. I wonder why Pittsburgh isn't playing him anymore.

The masterful WestEddy who can’t stop himself from misrepresenting and outright lying about what other posters have said about players. I always said Canario could easily suck and be a bust but I’d still rather play him over bad vet outfielders because at least Canario is 24 with power as a tool and could potentially have a future. Meanwhile, Getz didn’t choose Canario but he did choose Maton and Maton basically was the full-time DH while he was on the Sox. Maton and his .173/.295/.327/.622 line. He was just DFA’ed and no other team wanted him, just like the majority of Getz’s DFA’ed players. So does WestEddy question the great GM wizard Getz for this acquisition? No, instead he deflects on any criticism of our awful GM and posts some BS to dig at me. Makes sense… 🤡 Edited April 28, 2025Apr 28 by WhiteSox2023

It’s no different than wanting to take a chance on a guy like Gage Workman. We would have just found out he sucked here anyway. It’s no big deal.
