Used to be 10% for cap gains. We had this conversation recently and estate hit would be at least 20% unless it is given to a trust I think...but you'd have to ask a corporate tax lawyer. Someone said as much as 40% but that seems way too high. In the 90s something like 55-59% for highest tranches or tiers of an estate, partially why they balanced budgets under Clinton.
