  1. If he was a dominant run prevention defender at that position, like an Austin Hedges or Martin Maldonado...sure.
  2. Even then, he was way too non chalant... drifting back on the ball instead of hustling back to the fence. $75 million was supposed to guarantee those plays got made vs. Jimenez flubbing them or getting hurt.
  3. Now all those added pitches are going to lead to an extra inning for the bullpen. No way they get another lucky break like last night.
  4. https://www.yahoo.com/news/minor-league-player-hit-514-135201216.html Jo Adell would be a legit buy lower trade candidate. Still a ton of bust potential but they need to take some chances with these upcoming trades.
  5. Prospect aficionados all know him... he was involved in one of the biggest and most maligned trades in DBacks history earlier in his career. "The Diamondbacks caught instant criticism throughout the industry for the deal, which executive Tony La Russa justified at the time by saying the shedding of Arroyo’s contract created financial flexibility the club needed for the upcoming offseason. He also argued at the time that Toussaint would be a “serviceable-to-good major-league pitcher,” but he didn’t think that would happen for another “five or six” years."

  8. Depth is nice. Not playing service time games is also pretty nice.
  9. Nobody would ever have predicted the DBacks and Giants both being right there in the thick of it. The only reliable factor out West is the Rockies being abysmal...yet Denver fans continuing to support that tram year in and year out with strong attendance numbers.
  10. Frazier in RF...ofc nobody will hit the ball to him. The one skill he does have is throwing the ball albeit not so accurately. Still don't understand how that call at the plate was reversed. Had one yesterday where the catcher was clearly up the line and blocking a straight path to the plate and they didn't change the call of out.
  11. Wow. Now who the heck can close this game out?
  12. Don't think we've seen this particular combination of a manager and GM so in over their heads simultaneously...just feels hopeless.
  13. Also predictable. Grifol and Hahn need to resign.
  14. Like his defense working with Ron Washington. White Sox only saw him as a utility guy primarily 3B and 2B.
  15. Btw, Guardians only one game behind the Twins now...
  16. Sigh... Bummer won't figure out a new way to screw this inning up.
  17. Grifol always has the wrong touch with the pen. Should just do the opposite of his first instinct. Or just spin a wheel and pick totally random guys.
  18. Sliders and sweepers off the plate...death of the rebuild.
  19. Nice slide by Benintendi. He was dead to rights.
