Last year, he even slammed his hand down on a metal filing cabinet in the front office...almost a fit of rage approximating KW's infamous flipped over post-game buffet table incident. They're better off promoting the return of Hendriks, Trout and Ohtani. In fact, he will likely tease that they will make a run at Shohei at the trade deadline or in Free Agency since he has pretty much nothing but Luis Robert and Middleton/Santos to hang his hat on. Burger, too, I suppose. The irony there is Burger went out of his way to get at-bats in independent ball because of the Covid situation...at that point, the White Sox had pretty much written him off as a sunk cost. Burger made it all the way back DESPITE the organization rather than because of them, almost.

Liam Hendriks' return appears imminent

https://www.mlb.com/news/liam-hendriks-returns-to-white-sox-after-cancer-battle Just imagine the buzz around this if the White Sox were in 1st place or at least hovering around .500. Now it's almost an afterthought...when will he be able to pitch well enough that they can dump his contract on someone else? Imagine how the Hendriks Family feels right now. This White Sox team was not the one that Hahn originally sold them on signing with...but they're kind of stuck with Chicago until he can pitch well enough (not for winning a championship, but just personal stats) to free himself due to the complicated contract that he signed. -
Bevington? Surely not Manuel, he was decent for most of his tenure.

Buy low, sell high. The White Sox selling off Vaughn at 50% of his trade value would be just par for the course. And go along with getting nothing for Rodon, TA7's trade value dramatically decreased, the Madrigal trade for Kimbrel leading to Pollock leading to Benintendi (getting worse with each corresponding move), Zack Collins, Carson Fulmer, Zach Burdi, etc. Any type of rebuild, Vaughn has more value to the White Sox than another organization until he starts getting more and more expensive in arbitration. In a way, Hahn dodged yet another bullet by Vaughn struggling enough that a team-friendly extension was never in the cards, so they saved ONE long-term commitment to their core of young players at least. Sheets is basically just a streaky platoon guy and a poor defender regardless of where you stick him other than DH, so you can keep him around but he's not going to be one of the core pieces of the next competitive White Sox team.

With that contract and the odds of him having his previous velocity and command/control are practically the same as the Celtics winning four in a row elimination games, five including the 76ers series...I'm not expecting for him to be dealt until the offseason or possibly next trade deadline. Also, if the Padres continue to play so poorly even after Machado returns, they're going to have to deal Josh Hader at the deadline to restock for 2024. -
One now...out ahead of Benintendi Tim Anderson Madrigal.
-
Well, look at the Dodgers' injured list of just pitching alone...it's insane how many have gone down and they're still one of the 3-5 best teams in baseball despite Peralta Thompson and Heyward making up 2/3rd's of their starting OF on any given night.
-
Well, technically, one of the Top 30 prospects in baseball stands behind TA7, Colson Montgomery. He pretty much has to stick at SS, with Burger at 3B.
-
Cease and Rodon were obviously good enough the last two years but never synchronized.

Eloy Jimenez has appendix removed, out 4-6 weeks per Grifol

Thirty years from now worth at least double $3+ million like Karl Malone's Dream Team Team jersey. -
Cincinnati has Greene and a really nice looking young lineup after the insertion of McClain at SS.

3-1 would have left the Sox just 4 games back. Now they're back to being a boat with a stalled engine in the water floating towards Niagara Falls. The next thing they will do is go out of their way to prove Hendriks isn't ready to pitch...let alone close.
-
Fell asleep to miss Anderson's defensive misplay after the comeback and immediately wentto box score. Why, especially after yesterday, was Kelly in to close the game when Graveman has been getting most of the opportunities after Reynaldo blew his shot at the job? Baffling. Just not particularly surprising.
-
They have to choose either Zavala or Perez and then go out and sign an Austin Hedges type just to hold the pitching staff together next year.
-
Cease Anderson Eloy Benintendi and Hendriks have lost about $250-300 million in value/surplus value in the last 6 months.
-
Shades of Craig Monroe vs. Aardsma lol.
-
That felt pretty much inevitable. Quite the statement the Sox have made here in must win series. Baddoo their Billy Hamilton in terms of bringing energy to team....killed the Sox this weekend. First time Cease has ever given up 4 walks or 4 runs to Detroit in 14 career starts.

Sitting dead red.

74 pitches.

Looks like a carbon copy repeat of last inning...

Lenyn Sosa. Andrus. Zavala. Leury last year. From an opposition standpoint.
-
Heading towards worst percentage of throwing out opposing runners...

Can just see Harrelson saying Dylan's battling his butt off out there. So far, at least. Still going to expose bullpen yet again.

61 pitches 6 outs
