  1. On Memorial Day weekend, you'd have to expect 23-26000 for Ohtani and Trout. We shall see.
  2. Strasburg basically deal forced Rendon and Soto off the roster. At any rate, James Wood from the Padres' trade is now being projected to be a star by many scouts. Abrams a Top 5 MiLB prospect and MacKenzie Gore wasn't far off. They did what they had to do to kick off a rebuild.
  3. Robert and Burger now falling off... where do they go to get offense? Eloy on a "nine game" hitting streak lol. Maybe he's the temporary answer.
  4. Lambert is off the roster. They can't use Scholtens. Who would you go to to eat 3-4? Lopez after pitching last night? Bummer? Crochet? Don't think they're confident about pushing Garrett quite yet. Would actually be the perfect opportunity to see where Liam is at with his stuff...
  5. Lance and/or gopher balls outside the Central... it was easy to be too optimistic with Kopech's fool's gold.
  6. Posted 1 hour ago Drury and Urshela both would have been solid 2B/3B/utility infielder additions... Sox ran out of money and/or trade capital.
  7. Nothing. I made a mistake listening to too many other team's broadcasts (especially Dodgers/Rays) because the Sox are too depressing. Though the was on LAD. He's actually on the Phillies, attempting to defend their NL championship. At any rate, like many Sox castoffs... now in a winning organization.
  8. Scholtens? Wouldn't count on that happening against the actual competition outside the AL Central. Martin actually performed better than everyone expected...well, will just have to wait and see.
  9. You realize keeping Sale with his injuries and attendant Red Sox salaries would have doomed the White Sox for half a decade, right?
  10. Dodgers Rays Braves Astros Yankees
  11. Pretty pathetic when a LHR and back up outfielder are the best you can put up for 3/4 in a decade. Rodon didn't realize his potential, except for 2021 when the Sox were so desperate to fill out the rotation they had to bring him back on that $3 million deal that resuscitated his career.
  12. We didn't lose any money with Jake Diekman or Jose Ruiz?
  13. Drury and Urshela both would have been solid 2B/3B/utility infielder additions... Sox ran out of money and/or trade capital.
  14. Oh, right, I guess Tom Hamilton...
  15. There are numerous examples. Moving Viciedo Beckham and Josh Fields all over the place to meet current big league club needs. Giving up on Narvaez due to defensive concerns. Giving up on Semien way too quickly... pigeon holing as a utility guy with limited upside because of lingering questions about his defense. Giving up on Borchard without even giving him a full half season of playing time...because "competing" Brian Anderson, same reason. He wasn't forced toake any adjustments and got nlby with sheer athletic talent on defense but lots of bad mechanical flaws as a hitter. Drafting the likes of Sale Crochet Burdi Ring and Poreda to jump into pennant races or contribute more or less immediately without much time in the minors. Same with philosophy behind drafting McCulloch and Broadway in the first round... to join big league team as back end starters as quickly as possible.
  16. Hard to do when he wasn't allowed to play yesterday...he and Burger have been carrying the offense for most of May.
  17. It's almost like TA7 has come to represent this team. Certainly the most polarizing story this month with TLR gone for good. Hot dog/showoff/uppity (to use 1950's dog whistle terms). Modern day Jackie Robinson, Field of Dreams Walkoff, Dairy Queen (mainstream/Heartland) advertisers embracing him and MLB video game covers even. Arguably one of the two franchise position players, along with Luis Robert, coming into 2023. "Well, he's too talented to be almost consistently making all these key defensive miscues and hitting so poorly for both power and with RISP. He'll come around at some point." HAWK: "Just look at the back of his baseball card." TIGERS' announcing crew, a week ago: "Tim Anderson just isn't a very good shortstop." LOGIC: "Something doesn't compute for 2022-23 after he was one of the five best (average) hitters in baseball from 2018-2021. Not to mention, almost nobody in the clubhouse even seemed excited he was named to the All-Star team. That's a very telling sign. And Jose Abreu couldn't get out of town fast enough."
  18. AL East W/L +52 RS/RA +212 AL Central -39 -170 AL West +29/-35 (OAK) +120/-199 (OAK) NL East +3 -51 NL Central -17 -18 NL West +7 +6
  19. Last year, he even slammed his hand down on a metal filing cabinet in the front office...almost a fit of rage approximating KW's infamous flipped over post-game buffet table incident. They're better off promoting the return of Hendriks, Trout and Ohtani. In fact, he will likely tease that they will make a run at Shohei at the trade deadline or in Free Agency since he has pretty much nothing but Luis Robert and Middleton/Santos to hang his hat on. Burger, too, I suppose. The irony there is Burger went out of his way to get at-bats in independent ball because of the Covid situation...at that point, the White Sox had pretty much written him off as a sunk cost. Burger made it all the way back DESPITE the organization rather than because of them, almost.
  20. https://www.mlb.com/news/liam-hendriks-returns-to-white-sox-after-cancer-battle Just imagine the buzz around this if the White Sox were in 1st place or at least hovering around .500. Now it's almost an afterthought...when will he be able to pitch well enough that they can dump his contract on someone else? Imagine how the Hendriks Family feels right now. This White Sox team was not the one that Hahn originally sold them on signing with...but they're kind of stuck with Chicago until he can pitch well enough (not for winning a championship, but just personal stats) to free himself due to the complicated contract that he signed.
