  1. Marcus Semien leading the AL in RBIs on the road. Would be nice to have about right now. Santos warming.
  2. Except he somehow managed a 2.8 fWAR last year.
  3. Ties season high in walks at five with start against Minny.
  4. Only way to get rid of Benintendi is a new GM who's not invested in proving everyone he was correct to sign him in the first place.
  5. Seems all the players just want to get this one over and go home as quickly as possible.
  6. Not even close to warning track power.
  7. No hitter at this point still. Sounds familiar. Maybe has 2 more innings left in his start. Classic manufactured run there.
  8. 4th start with 4 or more walks... Julks can't be getting second that easily.
  9. Ian Hamilton ERA down to 1.29. Throwing 98.
  10. AJ Pollock .138/574 Benintendi a huge improvement?
  11. You have to feel for the concessions workers who rely on tips and theoretically happy/happier fans spending...or not.
  12. https://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=y&type=8&season=2023&month=0&season1=2023&ind=0&page=6_30 Schwarber Springer Abreu (second from bottom, only Segura worse) biggest surprises on that last page statistically.
  13. Which means they might as well just go ahead and trade Vaughn/Kopech... which only leaves Cease and Robert of the core.
  14. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/2021-22-international-reviews-miami-marlins/ We need to hire all these guys away from the Marlins or get Kim Ng to recruit them to Chicago. Eury Perez 20 years old 27 days debuting today, #10 MiLB prospect Sandy Alcantara, Sixto Sanchez, Jorge Lopez, Jose Fernandez, etc. We haven't had signing classes of 50-60 players out of Latin America if you added up Paddy's entire tenure.
  15. Who do we like in the Rays' system? They have lost Springs and Rasmussen for the season... and Glasnow just had a setback in his rehab assignment. Giolito and Clevinger most likely to go because JR definitely won't be willing to eat 60-75% of Lynn's salary. But maybe playing for the best team in baseball would present him a second wind to get back into better physical/competitive shape.
  16. Not when they need to maximize his value for a possible trade.
  17. Nobody ready at AA. Will damage them even more pushing them up too soon.
  18. They should bring Leury back to throw out the first pitch in memory of his GS that ended up costing that ridiculous extension.
  19. https://www.baseball-reference.com/bullpen/Mike_Gellinger This guy arguably had the most experience in the entire system across a number of unique roles. Pretty sure he had major health issues in 2012 and then again recently…but I would definitely take him over Getz in any capacity. Seems he’s now with ACL White Sox… Arizona Complex League White Sox Manager: Danny González Bench coach/hitting coach: Mike Gellinger
  20. Plus it’s going to take a lot for Anderson or Hendriks to get back anything close to their previous values. Guys like Grandal, Kelly, Graveman, Lopez and Bummer are obvious salary dumps. Lynn absolutely has to be relocated. Clevinger…that’s a really tough one since he might be the #2/3 starter next year and Martin might not be available for most of 2024 if he has TJS. Nevertheless, he might get a better deal elsewhere if he can get the ERA under 4.
  21. They have to trade Giolito. Unless the contenders completely give up on Nola, Urias and Snell, Giolito is the #1 option of all the walk year starters other than Ohtani. But especially if he puts up more 95-97 FB numbers over the next month of starts.
