  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 5, 2012 -> 01:22 PM) Who are you even arguing with? Obviously a smart phone is 1000x better than a regular phone. Next, can you tell me the advantages a car has over having to take a ox and wagon across the country? Flip Phones > All. Got rid of my smartphone to go back to a flip phone. I like it way better. Touch Screens are annoying.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:16 AM) Where is Brian Anderson when you need him... Only came here to make this comment.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 1, 2012 -> 09:37 AM) Someone use this, because I'm not anymore for whatever reason. I might, haven't had a sig for a while.
  4. QUOTE (kev211 @ May 31, 2012 -> 05:15 PM) I absolutely wished Hawk called Humber's game as I'm sure a lot of people here did as well. I definitely thought it several times.
  5. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ May 31, 2012 -> 09:34 AM) Sounds like Illinois just basically "cooled" on James. I bet he ends up at a mid-major. Didn't have a real good year at La Lumiere. My guess is that they are going to land Nic Moore. ISU just signed a PG from Canada, Kaza Keane.
  6. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jul 13, 2009 -> 01:58 PM) OK there is seriously not a baseball player named Brady Shoemaker. What is with all these goofy ass baseball names. Lance Blankenship, Bubba Crosby, Grady Sizemore, Boof Bonser, Lance Broadway. Lance Johnson actually has two phallic references in one. Baseball has some kind of weird names quota. Football for instance seems to have way more normal names, Ochocincos aside. Got a problem with the name Shoemaker? I know this comment is three years old but I couldn't resist someone calling my last name weird. ha.
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 29, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Farmer is f***ing awful. DJ is great. People forget how awesome he and hawk were by the end of their run. That said I don't want Stone to leave anytime soon. This. I listen to them almost every night. DJ says something once a game that is laugh out loud funny.

    2012 Book Thread

    QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 29, 2012 -> 08:36 PM) Ha, I was describing it to someone else and I was like "it makes you feel feelings." That is the best description of it I've heard. f*** if I know what feelings, but I know they are there.
  9. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 29, 2012 -> 04:58 PM) But it was a damn good post
  10. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 29, 2012 -> 02:56 PM) I regret never seeing a game there. How can you regret something that is impossible for you to have done?
  11. QUOTE (Papa Tru @ May 27, 2012 -> 09:06 PM) I use to deliver for Dominos and that delivery fee IS bulls***.. The drivers do NOT get that delivery fee.. down here, the delivery fee was 1.50.. we got 90 cents a delivery to cover "gas". The delivery fee is just an extra way for them to make profits and in no way is given to the drivers as a tip. It always sucked when people thought the delivery fee was the tip, its not. I got 54 cents a delivery at the Dominos I delivered for.
  12. I really really want the Spurs to win the whole thing. This should probably go in the drunk thread. Manu is the s***.

    2012 Book Thread

    QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 28, 2012 -> 04:14 PM) It was pretty good. I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel sadder after I read it than before. It certainly isn't an uplifting story. I always read it when I'm in a certain mood.

    2012 Book Thread

    QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 25, 2012 -> 11:31 PM) I had downloaded "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" after reading Catcher in the Rye for the first time and hearing favorable comparisons. I now see it's being turned into a movie, but I'm giving this one a try. It's engaging enough. I've read it a few times. I'm a fan.
  15. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 26, 2012 -> 02:20 AM) 15% where I work would get you called an asshole. I'm not saying it's right, but now a day, 20% is what is expected, and 25% is a nice. And if someone is calling someone an asshole they probably deserve less. I delivered pizza in college and didn't get mad at anyone for a s***ty tip. If I got no tip I wasn't happy but that's life. No need to call someone an asshole because they don't tip what you want them to. They don't have to tip at all.
  16. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 26, 2012 -> 01:19 AM) I always tip 20% at least, generally round up to 25%, and I'll go higher depending on service and bill (if it's a small bill at say, Steak & Shake, but the server was great, I've left a 50% and even a 100% tip once, but that was great service on a small bill). You're an incredibly good tipper. I rarely see wait staff that I think deserves 20%. 15% for the usual adequate service I receive.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 25, 2012 -> 07:02 AM) So weird to win a softball game 5-4 My fall team threw two shutouts last season 15-0 and 10-0.
  18. Going to my parents lake house in Missouri.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2012 -> 10:11 AM) He was reincarnated and you still doubt him? May 22nd. The new Easter.
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2012 -> 08:17 PM) I don't believe this can be done either cheaply or easily. I really think this is the biggest issue.
  21. I'll probably hit up a cubs game or two as well. Why the hell not?
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2012 -> 06:37 PM) Play by play is overrated for television. I don't need the game explained to me when I am watching it. I can't stand listening to broadcasters who are too damned worried about offending someone or having to face someone in the locker room after the game. Do I wish Hawk would tone down the act at times, yes. But I love having a fan in the booth. I feel way more connected to a broadcast that gives me that, versus FoxBot or ESPNbot. Give me a Pat Foley, Neal Funk, or Hawk Harrelson anyday. Kind of off topic but I seriously get Pat Foley and Pat Hughes confused all the time. I have no idea which one is which because they are both announcers named Pat for the two chicago teams I never pay attention too.
  23. Catcher is way higher on my list of needs than any of Marty's except 3b.
  24. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 13, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) Welcome to the next phase of your life. Moving out and driving up 57 will be one of the worst feelings ever. You're right about that feeling. Except it was 55 for me.
