Official 2011-2012 NFL Thread
Football is the one sport where I don't see that as a problem. They are already basically out there trying to hurt each other anyways.

The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 12:16 PM) I want them to succeed so that people will see that it's possible to compete in any division. It would illustrate how pathetic we've been in our own division and hopefully get people to get on board for a new direction for this team. If they aren't on board by now they will never be.

The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 21, 2011 -> 10:47 AM) That would be so awesome. I want the Blue Jays to compete and make that division a 4-team race every year. I would have agreed with you but I kind of want to see them fail just because of J4L.

a "successful season" in the major leagues
Of course the sox have the 9th best record in the A.L. and are 9 games back of sixth place so I don't see any way you could call this successful.

Alejandro De Aza continues to play very steady ball
QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Sep 20, 2011 -> 09:06 PM) If you thought I was talking 2011, Pierre, than you are a bigger fool than the one who wanted Lilly to replace Dunn. And I have some Ocean property in Utah to sell to you. HRs are great, but if you think they are needed in leadoff spot, and not a luxury.. I suggest you educate yourself on the game. Why? Did Juan Pierre just get in a time machine and emerge 6 years younger? Considering he would be replacing 2011 Juan Pierre you'd be a fool not to believe that's what you were referring to. Nice try though.

The best player in baseball?
Although pitching WAR isn't always the greatest stat, Verlander has contributed 2.5 more wins than Tulo this season.

The best player in baseball?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 19, 2011 -> 10:59 PM) You would actually take a pitcher over Tulo? With the way he's pitched this season in the amount of innings he has, yes. He's faced more hitters than Tulo has plate appearances.

The best player in baseball?
Pujols or Verlander.

Catch All Anything Thread
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Sep 15, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) I’m considered super obese because I’m 200lbs and only 5’8”. When I joke about this people say, "No you're not." I don’t feel that I’m fat but I worry about my health. I have regard for myself. If you don't feel fat at 200 lbs at only 5'8", then you clearly have no regard for yourself. You are fat, and you should get in shape and stop making fun of other fat people, guy. Seriously, at 5'11" 185 I feel fat. I don't know how that guy sees that picture of himself and can say he's not fat.

Crede still in pain after two years
The love some people have for Joe Crede and Aaron Rowand is ridiculous. Why is Carl Everett never brought up? That's a true White Sox legend.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Sep 14, 2011 -> 11:53 AM) Holy crap, not only is Verlander leading the AL for the triple crown of pitching, he's leading it for all of baseball. Halladay changed that tonight.

2011-2012 NCAA Basketball Thread
QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 09:10 PM) You're joking, right? He is constantly all over the floor and playing above the rim. He's got Luol Deng athleticism, not Lebron, D Rose, etc athleticism. He's still awesome though.

QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 13, 2011 -> 06:33 PM) Jabari could play college ball now and kill it. I'm not sure. He's a really damn good player but he's not super explosive athletically.

WHAT THE HELL? WHITE SOX WINNER? RIOS WALK OFF SLAM?
I don't give a s*** what Ozzie does the rest of the year to be honest. It's what he did that got me to that point that I dislike.

10th anniversary thread for 9-11
I was a sophomore in high school. Seemed like a movie to me. I didn't have any really big emotional feelings maybe because I was about 15. That or I'm some kind of monster.

Congratulations on #2000, Pierre
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) 1.) So do I. The announcers I listen to also tend to mention batting average, uh, every time a player steps in the box. No announcers I've heard mention the advanced sabes stuff. Maybe on base percentage once in a while or some put that graphic on the screen. 2.) I agree with that post. The basis of people getting mad at me is my simple statement, which I stand by, saying Juan Pierre is a good baseball player. I think he is. I also find it so funny that many can't forgive him for getting off to a slow start when other players' slow starts are shrugged off. There are still people on this board who think Rios is a good baseball player. You keep saying this, yet I have never seen anyone in the last 3 months say Rios is a good player.

Congratulations on #2000, Pierre
Juan Pierre has been a very average player this year. I really have no idea what else there is to discuss.
