  1. QUOTE (NIUSox @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) It seems like most "stars" in the NBA do crap like this. It is a cocky, look what I just did league, which is why I hate the NBA. It's no different then any other sport. Every sport has this kind of thing. I don't think the NBA players do anymore of this stuff than other athletes. I'd say football is far and away the worst.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) Playoff hockey is incredible. If you weren't on the edge of your seat for the entirety of the game last night, you probably have no pulse. Didn't watch last night. Watched some on Friday. I don't care until they get into desperate attack mode.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 19, 2010 -> 09:26 AM) The NBA playoff product sucks when compared to the NHL. It isn't even in the same universe. Thats opinion, I don't think the NHL games are any good until the last 2 minutes of the third. I enjoy watching all of the NBA playoff games.
  4. Go Bulls. If they don't get swept I will be happy.
  5. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 16, 2010 -> 09:55 AM) I don't understand trading for Gonzalez for basically just one season (doubtful on the possibility of an extension like Garcia signed right after being traded in 2004)...you know he's going to test the market with how underpaid he is. Buddy Bell on the subject of Tyler Flowers "We are trying to transition him back to the basics to get back to where he was last season....Too many thoughts, you just can't play [the game that way]." On his offense "We think the world of him offensively. Very intelligent kid." Let's say the deal was Santos, Flowers, Hudson and Shelby/CJ/Sergio Morales/M. Gonzalez, would anyone pull the trigger on that one? I would. I think Hudson will be alright pitcher and I think Santos has potential. I'm still not sold on Flowers. AGon, however, is a superstar once he leaves San Diego.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (kev211 @ Apr 14, 2010 -> 02:20 AM) So thoughts on why ALT Desmond killed ALT Locke? I don't think he's dead but I think it's because he wanted to show him his Island reality. Like when Charlie drove Des' car off the pier.

    LOST!!!!

I actually thought it was the most entertaining hour of the season. Putting an episode like that was perfect after the intense Desmond episode. Hugo was kicking some serious ass.

    LOST!!!!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) Your theory or a true spoiler? Pretty sure its a true spoiler.
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) If you're going this weekend you won't be able to see Berkman, he's not expected to come off the DL until next Tuesday - at the earliest. You will get to see the worst baseball team known to man, however. The cubs? zing!
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 04:48 PM) We really must've hired the world's dumbest architects. They got completely trumped by Camden Yards at the time, and instead of building it in a place encouraging mass transit they invite a gridlock to the neighborhood. Those were the times though. Efficient urban planning has a lot more street cred now. Being able to drive is one of the nicer things IMO. I like being able to tailgate outside the park.
  11. I'm going to Wrigley next sunday, I'll probably just wear normal clothes and a Sox hat. I certainly am not going to look for fights or anything. I just wear Sox hats alot. People that go all out and wear other teams jerseys and are trying to call attention to themselves is something different entirely though.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 13, 2010 -> 10:41 AM) Daily Show was great during the election and has been great the past year and a half. You're missing out. I used to watch it almost every night but I've really gotten bored with it. To each their own though. I can watch Conan almost every night. It could be that I've also gotten bored with politics.
  13. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 11:05 PM) so this Verlander fellow has given up 10 ER in 10 IP... but he blows so whatever. The question isn't performance, it is really more about velocity of the fastball and the flatness of his slider. Maybe he really just didn't have it but if he is sitting in the high 80's to low 90's in his next start, there is a serious cause for concern.
  14. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) I think he's behind Jenks, Thornton and Putz right now. Perhaps even Pena. I wouldn't go to him just yet. I'd personally hand the job to thornton right now though. I do think Sergio will be our closer in 2011 though.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 05:32 PM) I pick Daily Show over Conan. Conan is way better. I haven't watched The Daily Show in years.
  16. QUOTE (Lillian @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) I'm sorry, Jenks does not have closer stuff IMO. I've been watching this for quite a while now, and he just can't dominate hitters anymore. That ball Gonzales hit was a rocket. But more importantly, does the stuff he's featuring look all that impressive to you people? Now Thornton can dominate, and even Santos' stuff appears to be really almost unhittable. But Bobby doesn't have the velocity, or movement to be a dominate closer. If he keeps throwing like this, I would guess that opposing teams will make the last inning of an awful lot of games very anxiety ridden for many of us. I'm with you, I hate watching him throw these s*** sliders up there. He needs to either regain trust in his curve or become our 7th inning man. Santos is the future. His stuff is electric.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) Anything would look nice compared to the Metrosdome, but I don't know how I feel about the look of Target Field. I like it. It is weird that there is that gap between the limestone and the foul pole there though. Strange that it came into play during the first game.
  18. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 12, 2010 -> 04:21 PM) Neither can hit. Maybe Andruw can carry some momentum from his PH yesterday. I disagree. I would actually say the way Rios has been hitting the ball has been one of the few bright spots of the offense. He seems to always be hitting the ball hard. I know he's only hitting .174, but he has looked so much better than last year.
  19. I didn't realize this was happening or I would have gone into the ballpark alot earlier yesterday.
  20. Our jerseys must me made out of something that makes a player allergic to a clutch hit.
  21. Always been a Cheerios man myself.
  22. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 7, 2010 -> 10:26 PM) Our lefthanded hitters are hitting an amazing 2-26 so far. Lefties not named AJ are hitting an amazing 0-18. At least we don't have 4 righties hitting in a row.
