QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Feb 26, 2009 -> 09:45 PM) For once, I think ESPN got something right. Agreed, but I'd probably throw Greg Norton on that list too

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:02 PM) If you have a box, it should be on channel 410. I have a box and when i go to channel 410 it says channel unavailable I've called comcast several times and they always seem to not even know what the mlb network is. They just think I'm asking about the mlb extra innings package.
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 10:10 AM) Actually, the Sports Tier is not required. At least right now, as long as you have digital cable, the following come with your package (I know, because I don't pay for the Sports Tier. NBA TV Big 10 Networks MLB TV The sports tier includes all those s***ty fox sports channels, the NFL Network, and the NHL Network. Whoa whoa, I have comcast digital cable but definitely do not get the MLB network. Are you saying I should be receiving it?
-
QUOTE (YASNY @ Feb 5, 2009 -> 01:24 AM) Does DirectTV carry this network, and if so, where can it be found? YES they do. Where, I have no clue, but my coworker who has Direct TV tells me that he has it. I have comcast basic cable, I can't see the channel, for those with comcast, what package do you have to watch it?

Give her a big pink heart shaped box. When she opens it she should find your built up fecal matter from the past 2 weeks and a hand written note that reads, "Now you know me from the inside out, will you be my valentine?" Girls love ways you can show them your interested in intimacy without sex.

KW ranked in "second tier" of five (MLB GM's)

I think Mark Shapiro is awful. Particularly because of Borowski and then the follow up, Kerry Wood. Awful. -
QUOTE (toasty @ Jan 27, 2009 -> 10:00 PM) It was probably nothing, but on MJH today, carmen d. Was saying something about having a sox'nugget' possibly relating to sox fest. One of the other guys said he had the same one... But they didn't say what it was. Any ideas what the nugget might be? Perhaps the Kosher dogs are being replaced with chicken nuggets. Uribe will be pissed.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 25, 2009 -> 09:36 PM) yup. craigs is your best bet. Dont use an apt finding service. Why not? I always wondered if those services are useful. I thought they were free.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 24, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Threre've never been rumors and he really doesn't fit the mold so I don't see any reason for it. I'm not really a big time believer in trying to look at a player from two different periods of time and saying he was not on PED at this point, but because he was all of a sudden hitting for so much more pop here at this other point in time, then he must have been on PED. But I have a difficult time imagining that in a period of time when so many guys are juicing that Griffey could just sit back and enjoy his natural ability to play the game, while others maximize their potential for power by getting these PED. When Bureau was on here he told me that many scouts estimated that 35% of MLB players are using PEDs, but about 70% of the "good" players use PED. That considered, this is supposed to be the post PED era (although it really isn't that much), so if more people used say 10 years ago, its hard to believe that much of anyone didn't use. If everyone's doing it, why bother hold back? When the sin becomes the norm it's no longer a sin.

I like the 2001 song, "I'm Real" by Ja Rule/ J Lo I also like eating my salads completely dry, just croutons, no dressing. I also love dutch ovens (self performed, not someone elses)

I think its laughable that people actually think Griffey didn't use PED.

QUOTE (The Gooch @ Jan 22, 2009 -> 11:01 PM) I worked at a McAlisters for over 2 years, I know all about sweet tea and I drank it every shift I work. I think its delicious and I wish we would get some McAlisters up here. Things I hate: -Girls who tan too much (Its ok to not want to be pale, but when you are dark dark brown in the middle of January you gotta wonder how you skin is going to look when you are 40) -People who tell me how many drinks they've had tonight or last night (Well Ive had 4 beer, 3 shots, a long island ice tea, and 2 vodka sprites) I really dont care how much you drank, save us both some time by just saying you drank a lot -Rascal Flatts -Kids. They are all little monsters. -Jean Shorts on men -People that are constantly texting and taking pictures. -Most video game systems since Nintendo 64 (with the exception of the Wii) Building on top of that I strongly dislike for either sex Jorts (jean shorts) Jirts (jean shirts or jean skirts) Jresses (jean dresses) but I do like jeans that are the way they're supposed to be....pants.

QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Jan 22, 2009 -> 05:37 PM) I hate mustard, mayo, ice cream, and the cubs . I absolutely despise mayo. My co-workers think I was raped with a mayo bottle or something as a child. The stuff just urks me.

If Adrian Gonzalez didn't play at Petco he'd be so much better. Probably not in the top 3 because he doesn't have some other important baseball tools, but he'd still be so much greater than he seems right now. I think his career OPS playing in away games is remarkably better than the home games.

QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 11:13 PM) Also, skip the trainer. You can learn proper lifting form and proper diet by reading books and watching others. Trainers are just trying to make money and they prey on people who don't know much about getting fit. Very true. The internet is smarter and cheaper than your trainer.

Honestly, I'd have to go with Grady Sizemore. He has everything and no one spells 5 tool better than him. At 26 years old he still has tons of time to get better and compete at an MVP level. He'd get more attention if he didn't hit leadoff. Putting him in the 3rd spot would reveal to many how good of a player he truly is.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 20, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) so on top of the actual exercise, billiards threw his diet up there and that inspired me to ask the question - what about diet? i'm 22, and skinny as hell. though i will say i think my metabolism is slooowly starting to slow down cuz those abs aren't quite as apparent as they used to be. but, point is, i've wanted to put on weight/muscle, and i'm wondering if anyone else has a diet plan that they've used. Eat protein protein protein. Going from skinny to big is way more about diet than lifting. Its eating which is the hardest commitment to stick with, but makes the biggest difference, especially for the ectomorphic body. If you can eat 6 meals a day getting in 40-60 grams of protein each meal you will gain muscle when your lifting. The thing is, you need to eat like this every day without missing a beat. A couple of other things that can prevent you from gaining muscle is working out too much. If you just want to bulk up don't work out more than 3 times a week and don't work out for more than 50 minutes, keep it quick. Doing the same muscle group at the gym in the form of 4 different exercises doesn't build muscle any better than working the muscle with 1-2 different lifts. Stick to free weights over machines, drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep. Right out of college at 6'0" I went from 160 to 200LBS in about 4 months and I completely attribute it to the diet. I then got lazy after getting married and lost 20 pounds almost as quickly because I didn't have the protein intake even though I was still lifting.

QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Jan 19, 2009 -> 07:46 AM) At what point in time can a Type A free agent lose the draft pick compensation? Depending on the time, I have a feeling several players may be waiting for that point as teams seem to be valuing their draft picks more highly at this time. Could affect us with Cabrerra. bump- does anyone know the answer to this question?

Do any of you guys like Boers and Bernstein? They've always seemed like idiots to me and pretty much just laugh at their own inside jokes most of the air time. -
Personally I'd take Vazquez, I just don't like the salary cost.
