Sometimes uncertainty is a good thing, at least I think so. It makes for a better ST. Players have to battle for postions instead of coming in and going through a routine before the season begins. thats funny you said that..paul konerko at soxfest said the exact opposite...he said now that these guys know they have a job they can come i nand get their work in , prepare for the season , and not feel like they have to run through walls on every play..they should be more relaxed and ready to start the season.. now manuel said exactly what you just said....guess its a different perspective

sure...cause its a white sox farmhand then there must be some sort of tampering..i mean if it was a yankee farmhand im sure there would be no talk of tampering...ill bet steinbrenner is behind this!!!..its a conspiracy i tell ya...gotta keep the little man down...we need cochrane, jackson and sharpton!!!

i know at soxfest that KW was talking up willie harris..said he had a great winter ball season...plus willie and jose valentin were on the same team in puerto rico..which means they were the DP combo and got to work alot together....if d'angelo struggles and willie has a good spring...it could happen...for a team thats suppose to serious contenders we sure have a lot of uncertianty..cant wait till we get going! ! !

im looking at your bench: i agree thats probably the bench players that go north....but with rios and daubach we have two identical players...wouldnt it be better to keep josh paul , mr versitility??...he can catch , spell , crede at 3rd and play the corner outfield spots...of course it does give jerry the tinkerer move tinkering ability wonder how tradable mr rios is??? Rios could very well be dealt. I see him getting dealt if and only if Nunez plays good during spring training. Still, Rios hit pretty good last season and even better as the season went on. I like Armando quite a bit. He's got good pop and can hit for a solid average and he's proven he can come off the bench. I'll keep both of them. I think Rios can play a bit of center, although it may not be pretty. replies i got from giants on rios wernt too promising...they said he was horrible in CF...ok corner outfielder..was a good hitter but didnt play well with others..guess there were rumors of clubhouse controversy surrounding him and one situation in a game where he attacked a teammate (dont know if that meant physically or just got up in his face) because rios singled up the middle and the runner on 2nd didnt score, costing him an RBI... i hope kenny checked this guy out and found out he is not a clubhouse cancer..one goos thing though..we are only paying him like less than a million..so if he does becaome a problem we can just cut himn loose..

thats the biggest problem with heatstroke / exaustion....by the time you notice the symptoms..its too late...it comes on unbelievably fast..one minute your fine..then you run a few sprints and all of a sudden your on the ground in la-la land....once you get to the point that you have stopped sweating..your body temp rises extremely quick...

cdub thats gotta be wierd to think about..2 inches one way and you never get hit..never have to go through all that pain..but 2 inches the other way and your dead...that had to be tough to deal with..your son was lucky you were were his daddy on that day...thats the big thing you can hang your hat on there...as dads..injury /death to our kids is our biggest fear in life.. i can relate to your story about not being able to lift a one pound wieght...my first day of PT after my surgery they had me do arm curls with a 2 pound weight..i dropped it half way up on the first rep...but im up to ten reps with a 4 lb weight now...slow going but its going nonetheless...

dont you think marte has a little more room for growth then koch???

i dont get this one at all..it looks like the orioles did everything right...12 minute stations with water b reaks in between..they pulled him of fthe field when he was struggling...they got him to the hospital before he was in heat stroke...this doesnt make sense as a football coach where we start conditioning kids end of july - early august this stuff just scares the hell out of me...you see kids who spent all summer playing video comes in out of shape and you just know something like this someday is bound to happen...if your are gonna play sports competetively you got to stay in shape year round.. this was an oregon kid too ...thoughts and prayers are with his family

you answered you question in your response..the battle is wunsch can only pitch to a batter or two...munoz , who can come in and pitch 2 or 3 innnings , is better suited to pitch on a staff thats only carrying 11 pitchers this year instead of the normal 12

who's the better pitcher koch.....93.2 IP , 73H , 46BB , 93K , 11W - 4L , 44S , 6BS , 214BAA , 1.27WHIP marte...60.1 IP , 44H , 18BB , 72K , 1W - 1L , 10S , 2 BS , 204BAA , 1.03 WHIP if this trend continues , will billy koch become a 7 million doller set up man???...or because he earns the big bucks will he remain the closer regaurdless of how well marte pitches?? another question...with the development of marte and the signing of flash(though the flash signing was after the trade)...when we traded foulke would it have been better to trade him for a player in a different position???...what kind of a starting pitcher could we have gotten for foulke??..could we have gotten millwood for foulke??....they settled for a lot less than foulke...how cool would our rotation look now if that was the case???... colon , buehrle , millwood , wright . garland marte , gordon , white , wunsch , glover , munoz

as long as he is producing the big man should bat wherever he wants...within reason

And on Marte when he inherits baserunners. Last season it was lights out if no one was on base when Damaso was brought in. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed that if Damaso was brought in with baserunners, especially with RISP, he was atrocious. I'm not a stat-head..... I admit that..... and I am not even sure that they keep stats on the above. But I think a look at the aforementioned, if kept, would be an eye-opener to most Sox fans..... or maybe just me if I'm wrong on this. I remember when Baggs brought it up when the site was on the really older boards he had all the stats and they proved exactly what you said Cubkilla. Still, I think that is something that evens out. Marte limits opponents to a low average and I think he should improve with runners in scoring position and I think he did as the season went on. I also remember him giving up a lot of tough luck inherited runs. i think when i brought those stats up at that time guys were hitting like 407 against marte with runners on base...the 2nd half of the season he pitched lights out in almost every situation

Well, I don't mean to rain on everyone's parade, because I love Frank just as much as the next person, but let's not forget how 2002 started. Frank came to camp supposedly happy and ready to be a team guy, and that didn't last long. So while it's a great sign that he's at camp early, let's not get carried away -- "good Frank" was a guy who hit .325 with 35 and 120, and hopefully that's what we'll see in '03. frank got set up by the media on the contract question and things got out of hand...he has now sworn off talking to the media and i for one couldnt be happier with his decision....for some reason the press has always screwed with thomas while giving soso pass after pass after pass....even when sammy was with us he got a pass and beating his old lady with a rum bottle.. the next time frank talks to the media should be 5 years after he retires at his hall of fame induction
