  1. cushy government jobs are whats killing this country...government jobs provide neither a sale of goods or repair of said goods which means they provide nothing to help the economy....all they do is suck money right out of the economy..back around 92-93 goverment jobs passed up manufacturing jobs in this country...that wasnt a good thing
  2. umm i do..why?? "f*** you Ms. Cheney! f*** you Tipper Gore!" yup..brilliant

  4. Well other than the fact that he admits hes a liberal (you guys know what I think of liberals) he seems to be comparing America to Hell. And Im not gonna vote for someone like this (actually, I dont think Ill be able to vote in 2004 but when I do get the chance). The one person Im really going to be pulling for is Carol Moseley-Braun. African-American and a women. We could use some distinction in the White House for a change. This would also help minorites get more enthusiastic about government. The other day I was on the bus talking to some black friends of mine and they said they hated George Bush and that we should get a new president. I said we should get a black president and they really liked it. Now to think it may happen is really cool. you hate liberals but are pulling for carol mosely braun???...dude she makes apu and cwsox look like they are right of reagan ...she is the ultimate far left liberal i voted for (in the primary) and work on the campaign of dr. alan keyes last election...i didnt just decide to vote for him because he was black..i voted for him because i believed in him...because i believe in most of his views and thought him to be honest and pricipled...i knew he wasnt gonna win or even come close but i hoped he would garner enough votes to wake up the republican party to the fact that there is a large group of constiuents that are looking for leadership in other places...that they better not take us for granted...did it work??...probably not this time since keyes only finished around 5%...but thats 5% that will be watching closely whats going on in the party pick the candidate you feel best represents your views and you feel is an honorable candidate...dont just pick someone because of their sex or color of their skin..gotta have a better reason than that
  5. Danny Wright is more likely to win the lottery....... he is nowhere near the level of talent that Jon Garland is. I think that Garland definitely has the tools to be a CY Young canidate...... I dont know if he will....... but he could. I totally agree with you here. Wright may have had a higher number in the W coulmn, but Garland has so much more potential. And, as for our future starters (like Malone and Munoz), I think they will replace starters such as Colon, who we will trade in the future, possibly for salary cap reasons. We just have to wait and see how this plays out. A look on the bright side though, no matter how it turns out, I will be happy with our lineup, be it our future starters, current starters, or a mix of the two. when jon garland is throwing 96 mph in the latter innings then come talk to me..wright has much better stuff...now whether that translates into him being a better pitcher is another story...if it took stuff and nothing else mark buehrle wouldnt have made it out of high school
  6. if josh paul ends up our starting catcher then id rank us 19th too..lol

bill may have to sell...aweee geee, im all choked up
  8. No chance in HELL I'd trade Crede, but If Harris has a monster Spring, maybe we could throw in a pitching prospect, Sanders or Malone, or something, or Hummel could play third, Harris and Hummel for Beltran? Would you do it? harris and hummell for beltran???...of course..who wouldnt...but will KC??..im sure someone will give them a better deal.. imo KC will want young pitching for beltran and we got plenty of that..im guessing they'd want honel and malone..or maybe rauch and one of those two...now would you give up that???
  9. cubkilla, rps , guido and myself were at that game...and i swear to god jose was looking right at us when he mocked samme..we were right behind home plate a little to the first base side...we were the only sox fans in our section..god did we go nuts when he did that...jose will always be one of my favorites

    France

I care! and the U.S. cares because France has veto power in the UN Security Council so a war resolution from the UN is not going through! WOOHOO FOR FRANCE! France is not going to use that veto. Because, if they did and we go anyway, then France would appear to the rest of the world as being irrelevent. Which they realistically are anyway. I generally refrain from using profanity on these boards, however, in this case I have to agree with those that say "f*** France!". Damn, piece of s*** country... Just think of all the Americans that are buried on French soil. I hope the next time some Hitleresque SOB inavdes France... We let her rot in her own pompous s***. didnt france also lose a war to greenpeace??? and french fries wernt even invented in france...damn thieves

been following your discussions with apu and would like to offer a little advice..if you dont want it then just dont bother reading this any further..no offense will be taken.. we probably agree politically about 75% of the time...but i think your message gets lost when you go off on these personal attacks...it can be tough and it gets frustrating when you are debating someone that you feel is 180* opposite of what you believe...but if you try and remain civil you will find that there is always some common ground... ive been up many a night argueing with cwsox..along the way we have found out we agree on a few things...we are both against the death penalty and this one really surprised me but CW is for having a draft where everyone must serve 2 years in the military..that really knocked me for a loop...now if i was always personally attacking him because we disagree on alot of issues i would have never found that out about him...plus we all the white sox as a common denominator... along the way in my life ive changed my mind on a few politcal ideals..i changed my stand on the death penalty...national health care to name a few..as ive gotten older ive become more sensitive to social issues...now my wife is a liberal...she has changed her views a little too..biggest change for her was going from pro choice to pro life...i think youll always keep your core values but you will change your views a little too as you gain life experience..(code word for getting old ) guess im just saying try an argue your points with apu and the others you disagree with on the merits of your position and not on personal attacks..think youll have a betetr chance of getting your point across again this is just my opinion and you know what they say opinions are like ...
  17. i like debating with you too...mostly because you are true to your beliefs and not to a politcal party...you can see the bulls*** on both sides...thats rare ill try and talk to roman...he's young and head strong..what can you do???
  18. I just got back on the boards a few minutes ago, I've been reviewing for my Balkan history class all evening. A democratically socialist state such as Sweden would be fantastic. National health care and the government takes care of people pretty damn well. im probably one of the few conservatives in the country thats for a national health plan..as rich as this country is no one should ever have to worry about stuff like do i take my kid to the doctor or put food on the table.. but all these national health plans put limits on what doctors can make..somebody has got to come up with a plan that insures everyone but also makes it lucrative enough for the best minds in our country to keep going into the medical fields..if we limit what doctors can make then the best minds will become lawyers or whatever...we have to have the very best in the medical field...nothing is more important to quality of life the your health...someone show me a plan like that and ill back it... im not very educated in the swedish government so i cant argue or agree..i did visit sweden in the mid 80's...its a beautiful country.. as for quality of life it didnt look much different then the US imo...most people we living well but they had their share of poverty too... i love our form of government and think its the best..but i also know there are others out there where the vast majority of their population lives fullfilling lives...i can tell you first hand about germany..which is similiar to sweden (or it was when i was there) i lived in germany for 4 years..lived on the economy...lived with a german girl for awhile..their quality of life is very similiar to ours too (atleast it was before they absorbed east germany)...this is what it was like in the mid 80's...big difference i noticed was that very few people there own homes...everyone lives in apartments...great public transportation..you really dont need a car in germany if you live in any good size city...another difference is most people work 30 hour weeks and get 4 weeks vacation (that change id welcome here )...though they have their workaholics too...alcoholism is a real problem there...everyone drinks beer...young kids can get beer at clubs (im talking like 12 year olds) until 10 pm..its a major problem...smoking too..EVERYONE smokes in that country..its unbelievable..that have no anti - smoking campaigns at all...there is no such thing as non smoking areas in public places...seems like the national pastime is drinking and smoking ..probably have more people in poverty but they also have a serious immigration problem stemming from africa and the meiddle east...big cities are just loaded with immigrants and most are treated like crap...only allowed to work minimum wage jobs and thats only if they pay off the right official to get a work permit...they cant seem to get a handle on that problem...i dont understand why they just dont close off the borders...thought they might say the same about us all in all..id say quality of life is similiar to ours...probably the same in sweden...i almost stayed in germany working for our military as a civilian..but at the last minute decided i missed it back home too much
  19. tom petty - the waiting is the hardest part
  20. so if you had the choice , since you dont like capitalism , what country would you pattern the US after?? also..arnt you gonna rebute my previous post??.im curious about your reply to my quandry question facing liberals
  21. The US military went into Somalia and Mogadishu during the first George Bush's presidency to supply food and aid to the sick and starving people of those countries only to be attacked by guerilla's of various regimes in those countries..... some of the regime's henchmen were even trained by Al Queda. Some will claim that the US had alterior motives (overthrowing a given countries govt.), but they cannot deny the fact that the US delivered food to the starving and impoverished of those countries only to be turned on by those that the US was trying to help. Fact of the matter is, the US helps more foreign countries during times of natural catastrophes, crisis, famine, technical disasters, etc. than any other country in the world..... and that's a fact. kipwellsfan..in goerge bush's budget proposal..he has set aside i want to say 400 billion but thats sound like way too much...so i cant give you a specific figure but its an awful lot of money for aide to africa in the form of food and medical supllies..including testing for aides and money for research and drugs to help those infected.. we also have wiped clean debts owed to us by almost every 3rd world country in the last 20 years or so...we never collect on loans to 3rd world countries..we know we wont get the money back but give it anyways other countries dont have to like the US or the ideals it stands for..but no one can deny that we have been very generous over the years
  22. ive been your biggest defender ..keep posting whatever you want..including all your lists..ill read 'um
  23. garciaparra plays great defense..i always try and catch as many red sox games as i can at comiskey..and watch them whenever i can on tv..i always liked them...ive seen garciaparra enough (especially at comiskey) to know he is a GREAT defensive SS...he will make his share of errors like jose...but his a range and arm are even better than valentin's...and jose's is right with the best of them...i saw nomar go about 4 steps into the outfield between 3rd and SS to field a ball at comiskey...im thinking well he will just put that in his pocket...instead he jumps and whirls a throw towards first...i couldnt believe how hard he threw it..he just flicked his wrist as he turned towards first while he was still going towards the 3rd base foul line and a bullet is right on the money getting the runner by a full step...it was the greatest play by a SS ive ever seen...myself and a few others at comiskey gave him a standing O...he has to have the quickest release in baseball today...ive seen him make a few other plays like that too..enough to know this guy is as good as it gets..despite the errors... as for what you said about jose...bravo...i agree 100%..he is my favorite player on the sox right now for all the reasons you stated...
  24. i wouldnt say he was blaming the city...but he is defending the owner
  25. 21 dead at a nightclub in chciago..all minorities...and jackson comes out on tv saying well we should go and arrest the owner..that the dearth had nothign to do with the 11 violations the city found....now im thinking WAIT A FRIGGEN MINUTE....this inst right at all...all these civil rights leaders are coming out in favor of the victims and jackson is on the other side???..he has to have some ties to the owners of this club..sure enough..the owner is a son of a reverand thats a real close friend to jackson..seems they marched together in a lot of civil rights marchers in the 60's... and the real kicker...jackson wrote a letter on behalf of the owner asking the city to keep open the club and provide more police support..saying this is the kind of business we need in our communities...in spite of al lthe violation and supposedly from what other leaders they had on the news tonight was the many murders that took place outside this club...dont know how accurate that is but its being reported this wa not a nice place to go... this guy is no different then guys like jim bakker..they use god as a smokescreen to further their causes and line their pockets...im sorry ..this guy has failed too many times both in his personal and professional life for all these to be honest mistakes...this guy is no good
