I mean, Clayton and MJ and Rowand aren't that scary, are they? Lemme guess, Baggio, the only sentence you read (and decided to grace with a reply) was the one where I compare Carlos to Sosa. Nice to know. BTW it was obvious I meant "as good a hitter...", which is true. Just open your eyes and watch Carlos take the ball of his shoe tips and hit it 400 feet to LF. wait a minute....you said carlos was more "physically giftyed" then maggs or sosa...i dont think anyone would take that to mean you were just talking about his hitting...physical tools mean ,strength , speed ,agility , quickness..atributes like that..no one here could say carlos has better skills in those catagories than maggs does but if your just talkign about hitting...to compare carlos to maggs and say carlos has more physical tools is rediculous..there is no comparison here....maggs raked at the big league level from day one...maggs has a very short compact swing that rifles through the strike zone...maggs is so strong that when he tries to check swing his bat is already going so fast that he tends to injure himself trying to stop the swing...thats why you see him grabbing his wrists..its a similiar problem to what durazo has with arizona..only he ends breaking bones in his wrists...hawk has commented more than once that maggs phyiscal tools are remarkable...that he is so gifted both physically and mentally and that you just dont see that combination too often... carlos has a long looping swing...which is why you see him chasing a lot of pitches in the dirt...he does not have good bat speed..its average at best...one thing carlos has going for him is that he big and strong...if carlos did have great bat speed with his size and strength he would hit a lot more than 26 homers and thats his career high...if carlos did have better physical tools that maggs possesses he would be a better hitter than maggs..he's not now and never will be...

Well... My last job is to build the gallows in the parking lot so I can be hung until dead at noon Saturday. In short.. I'm currently seeking employment. - Pete Oh well. The thought was definately nice, now we get to see Rauch show his stuff. I can't believe the reports that have Loiza as our 5th starter. Rauch will beat him out. The Sox are now likely to start the season with a 4 man rotation though. So I think Rauch will open up in the bullpen and get his feet wet a bit again this season and then make his start later in April or early May. I haven't looked at the schedule yet to see when the Sox would likely go to a 5 man rotation. LETS GO WHITESOX i checked the schedule..we only have 3 open dates in april..we will need the 5th starter right out the gate...a lot of cold weather games...besides what CW sox said in a different post about us having the tigers for 3 weekend series and no good teams on the weekedn like the yanks...seems we also get no holiday games either...two on the road and one we are off....boy are we getting screwed as far as the schedule goes

And did it dawn on anybody that bin Laden wants war in Iraq for his own purposes? If you have read any of his speeches, you'd know that he is desperately trying to polarize the world into Islam vs the West. So far, he's only been able to get a couple thousand. If the U.S. invades with an attack (unilateral, pre-emptive, whatever) this only reinforces the claim of Islam vs the West. bin Laden doesn't give a f*** about Saddam and Saddam and bin Laden actually hate each other (Saddam and his party are very secular and not religious). If the U.S. invades Iraq, we play right into the hands of bin Laden and just create even more terrorists willing to put their lives on the line to fight the "Great Satan". If we use the French/German peace plan they developed, we not only disarm Saddam but we deny bin Laden the power to use a war against Iraq as a "war against the East". Bush has already said he wants to help develop a Palestinian state (if you read a bin Laden speech from 2001, it states and I quote "America nor the people who live in it will dream of security before we live it in Palestine.") So, obviously Bush is catering to some terrorist demands. A war with Iraq can easily be manufactured by bin Laden to polarize more martyrs for the cause against the international bully. And that is counterproductive to TWAT (The War Against Terror)....but maybe that's what they want, an endless war to justify increased military spending. I don't condone the actions of Hussein's domestic policy & I don't condone the al Qaeda network for using terror and violence tactics to prove a point. wright is gonna be a stud someday....this is a guy that went 2-14 his senior year in college to win 14 games in the majors in like 3 years..danny wright reminds me alot of kip wells...he can still be throwing 95 in latter innings...i think someday he could very well pass up buehrle as the ace of this team...he has the best fatsball of any of our prospects now that kip is gone...im looking for big things from him

brian giles OPS is 101 points higher than magglio's...this guys numbers over the last 4 seasons are some of the best in baseball....to get him it would take magglio or buehrle in a deal...not gonnna happen...we dont have to give up what pittsburgh needs or wants for giles..id love to get brian but i dont see it ever happening

i liked it when pyscho lyons was on there....you could see that arnold and pyscho really didnt like each other very much...they would get into some sports /political debates like athletes on drugs and arnold would take the liberal side while pyscho the conservative side and they would go at it and it would really get heated...psycho should replace kruk on that show.... plus it should be cut to an hour if its not already..at one point that show was 2 1/2 hours long....anything will get stale running that long

So why can't people understand this about Carlos, the stupidass? great point. Very good point. I do think Carlos has put up solid numbers though. Plus, look at his obp and how much it increased. Their is no way to reach your potential if you don't have a good eye. Carlos showed a lot the 2nd half of last season that said he was figuring things out offensively. Look at how good his numbers are, considering he's been off. whats to stop carlos from going back to the old carlos and draw ing onlu 40 walks a season???...carlos is a dumbass (as far as baseball intelligence)..there is nothing that says because he drew 80 walks or so last year he will continue to improve on that... carlos could possibly have the biggest improvement on the sox...i also belive he could have the biggest drop off too....he could hit 220 and be out of baseball next year...or he could hit 320 this year and get 10 million in arbitration...this guy is an enigma beyond belief....he's the kerry wood of LF's...who the hell knows what he is gonna do...
