what ever happened to corwin malone??...i saw him pitch once against the giants in spring training like 3 years ago and he looked like he could throw 4 pitches for strikes...now he is still in double A rex..you probably saw him last year...any chance this kid could reserrect his career???....he was part of that '01 number one farm system class of KW's and he was suppose to be ready this year

kc and cleveland have improved while the sox and twins have regressed...look for a 4 way race...of course if any of these 4 teams were in any other division they would be picked no higher than 3rd and more than likely 4th

i know its an issue in japan..their culture is little more reserved than ours..we have all made mistakes in our lives...it took alot of guts from him to adress this the way he has...be hard to think of something more embarrassing to have to deal with im the public eye.. good lesson here ... when one of your friends ask if you wanna make a porno tape...you never know what people's real motivations are..im guessing this tape probably wasnt suppose to be made public..

Jauron wanted Delhomme/ Angelo didn't
baggio202 replied to Gene Honda Civic's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
ive posted in other threads that i liked delhomme from the first time i saw him..now that i know jauron wanted and angelo didnt pisses me off...ive never been a fan of angelo ..he seems like a control freak that has to have his way.. i asked this question in another thread but this is an even better place for it...what head coach worth his salt would take a job knowing he had no control over who is gonna play for him???...he immediately has his authority undermined because the players know he has no say on whether they get relased , traded or whatever... delhomme deal is the perfect example...jauron doesnt get the QB he wants and then when the team loses he gets fired by the GM who made the personall mistake in the first place.. that's one thing that scares me about lovey..how much control does he really have?? -
hopefully this will just die and go away...atleast his teammates seem to be doing their best to make it a non issue

Which is your favorite White Sox team of All Time?
baggio202 replied to JDsDirtySox's topic in Pale Hose Talk
the 77 team...eventhough they didnt win..that was one magical season -
i agree if borchard aint ready until '06 he will be like 27- 28??...not too many 28 year olds that finally get a shot do it with the same org that drafted them...by the end of this season we have to know he is "the man" for '05..or he will be dealt , or maybe just quit and go back to football???

DC have a fascinating dynamic to it..its like the people who want to do the most good when they first get to washington are the ones most likely to get caught up in all the politcal games and corruption..the more good you want to do the more likely you will start to compromise the principles that drove you in the first place...if you dont you'll never come close to accomplishing what drove so hard to get there....in the end , republican or democrat , you become the same...just another bought politican that keeps on keeping on with the status quo... i cant even find a politcan anymore that comes close to my views on the issues...on tha websire where they matched candidates with your views i think bush got 54%..that was the highest...the highest dem was kucinich at like 40 %..those two guys are about as opposite as can be
-
republicans dont even bother running candidates against him anymore...he's got everyone , i mean everyone with any power in his pocket....i dont even know if the feds can take this guy down...and he knows it too..its all right out there in the open and he doesnt even care...even after this report about the dump trucks im sure all of the "owners" will be getting their checks as usual.. i still get a kick out of the 78 year old woman dump truck driver

i was there all 3 days...im pretty sure it was saturday afternoon like at 5...because i remember asking kenny about daubach and why it took so long to find a lefty that could hit 20 homers (haha) and watching HSC explode on kenny about not giving aaron miles PT and then right after that wem headed to the carribean night thingy.. ...just make sure i got the right time for the KW interview steff please ...
-

if we get in a bidding war with the mets for erickson i dont think we stand a chance..
-
wouldnt you rather have burkett than erickson..atleast burket is not an injury risk...or did burkett already sign with someone??

gotta love the passion of real sox fans

im not saying that proved the noah's ark story..just an intersting find..that they found fossilized fish high up in the hymalaya's but at one time couldnt there have been enough water to cover the earth???....im not a expert on this so im kind of asking for my own knowledge...granted there is not enough water now but at one time could there have been??? one thing about faith...thats what makes it faith..believing in something thats not provable..if God left no doubt that he existed then everyone would believe and the concept of free will , which was perhaps God's greatest gift outside of Jesus dying for our sins , wouldnt have been necessary...

oh man..just reading that was painful

excellent points on the free agent years and players in their prime.. jason...thats why i included rowand along with crede as the players that could compete with the guys cleveland brought up last year.. im all for developing pitchers slowly..im a firm believer of not given up on a guy until he is atleast 27 and has logged 400 ML innings..so with pitchers you take your time...but everyday players im not so patient with...i dont see a whole lot of difference if at 22 they get their at bats in the bigs or spend two more years getting seasoned in AAA...i think with hitting the learning curve is alot faster and getting ML at bats is the fastest way to get over the curve..regaurdless of age... i also think because it takes pitchers longer to develop keeping someone like borchard in AAA for 2 or 3 years could stymie his development...because the pitchers , imo , are usually behind the hitters..he has to get those ML at bats sometime whatever the theory..i hope what the sox are doing works..but they are starting to worry me..that number 1 farm system of '00 - '01 has not produced much so far..
-
good points...but still..the number of young players that cleveland has either developed or found on the scrap heap that have showed up there and put up at a minimum decsent numbers is pretty impressive... i went to their mlb site to look up stats on few guys for my ealier response in this thread and i started clicking away on prospect after prospect...and each one of them was hitting 270 -280 ect..15 or so homers in like 300 -400 at bats..i click on about 5 and was like WTH..where did all these guys come from... im sure all of them wont pan out but they have enough in numbers to be looking pretty promising right now...i dont know..it impressed me..another thing...go look at their young pitchers..alot of them had partial seasons last year and were effective..if , and i know its a big if , enough come through this could be a 4 way race..

the part about borchard not being ready bothers me...he was compared adam dunn inthe minors..scouts were split 50/50 on who was the better talent...dunne is a year younget than joe and has been a ML regular for 2 years now...already hitting 72 homers...imo..we really needed borchard in CF last year from day one..putting up dunn-like numbers..27 homers in 381 at bats...dunn has been an all star already... someone should ask kw why our young guys take forever to develop...crede was 25 when he got a starting position...to me after 25 if you havent made it as a starter youre now consider old...borchard is now 25 ,or will be soon and he isnt ready..and he was a number one pick...olivo will be 25 this year..so will harris...rowand is 26 and these guys are still question marks.. in the past we hit on a few young pitchers...kip wells and buehrle .garland too..but thats it.. look at other teams.. cleveland...they have brandon phillips and jhonny peralta...granted these guys didnt hit for a high average but they played some good exciting baseball and last year were 20 and 21 years old...jody gerut in his first year hits 22 -75 .279..before last year he had zero ml at bats..granted he was 25 last year too but it was the first time cleveland needed him in the outfield...and he busts on the scene as a stud..plus he is from elmhurst..gotta root for a local guy...our guys come up and we have to hear about an adjustment period as they start their careers hitting 115.. guys like coco crips ,ben broussard , travis hafner , alex escobar , ryan ludwick , casey blake (not exactly young) how in the hell did they build this team so fast???...it was just 2 years ago when they still division champs... look at all the names i listed..who do we have to compare since '00??...joe crede and perhaps aaron rowand...i dont think you can put olivo and harris with those guys yet... thats what id ask williams..why does it take forever for our prospects to pan out while a team like cleveland reloads with in two years..
-
hey , im back in school again..im crying poor like KW
-
if you are looking into the future where does borchard fit in???....dont tell after all the hype this guy wont even make the starting line up

actually scientist have found fish fossils high up on the peaks of the himalayas..i cant give you a link but i remember reading that somewhere about 10 years ago..like in newsweek or something...so there was a time when almost or all of the earth was under water...now i cant remember if they were able to date how far back this event happened..but that could be used as corroberating evidence.. the OT also talks about the bitterness and the hatred between the jews and the muslims..and that they would bitter enemies until the end of time...they have been just that for thousands of years...its kinda wierd when you think about it.. there was an interesting article in a south bend paper about two weeks ago..it talks about the bible and science coming together...there was a story about how the east end of jeresalem is build on very unstable ground...and something like a 6.0 earthquake could wipe out the entire area with all the building destroyed and fire everywhere...the bible talks about jereselum burning to the ground..if im reading my map right the east end of town is where alot of the temples were located in jesus' time..which would be the part of jereselum the bible talks about burning down.. kinda cool if you think these things through...glad this topic was started..good way to discuss our differences on the afterlife without it becoming politcal..
