QUOTE(danman31 @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) Southern also nabbed Josh Tabb from Carbondale HS who is supposed to be an intelligent, athletic, stud guard. They are recruiting well enough that they should be able to maintain their stay atop the Missouri Valley Conference for quite a while. Yes they did, theyre snagging two of the top ten players in the state. If only they could draw fans for football, both of their teams are so good that I wouldnt be surprised for them to make a run at the Big 10. -

QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 6, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) SIU is now the best team in Illinois! They are getting a great player in Bryan Mullins next year. Every game he is a quadruple double threat, and he's definetly making me a saluki fan. Also, with West Aurora and Bolingbrook eliminated, I see him leading Downers South downstate. -

I feel bad rooting againt the Illini, but in my eyes they were the Cubs of college basketball. Two years ago in the playoffs, all the Cub "fans" crept up from the sewer for a few weeks, until the Cubs choked. Same thing this year from what I saw with Illinois. After they lost, those same people who claimed that they were fans crawled back to where they came. The real losers are the true fans that follow the team and stick with it through thick and thin. -

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Feb 18, 2005 -> 01:22 PM) The show was bad Holley sucked from the beginning. He was the only guest I ever saw on that show the times I skipped past it flipping channels. I'm not sure he even ahd any other guests. It was just Max vs. Holley all of the time..

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Feb 7, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Although his money grubbing of late has made me sarcastically start referring to him as Whore-donez, I'm trying not to forget his contributions to the White Sox over tthe last 8 years. So who is going to bring the "Whore-donez" banner to the park and get on TV so I can live vicariously through them? I'd do it for sure.... if I go. Either Whore-donez or f**glio. Two good choices

QUOTE(Heads22 @ Feb 4, 2005 -> 04:36 PM) I saw a kid at my school today wearing a Sox Belle jersey. Damned if I didn't do a double take. Cal Eldred was one of the best surprises for the Sox in the last 5 years. That 2000 season would never half happened without him. I wore my $5 replipca Belle jersey from the Sox Garage Sale to school the other day.

Maybe Willie should give SS or 3B a try if he wants to secure himself a spot on the roster. He played good defense and made some outstanding plays at second, so he might be able to make the adjustment. I'm no expert on the difficulty on swithing infield positions, but Arod was able to make a similar transition last year. Willie can be a graet player and showed good improvment last year, so getting rid of him would be a big mistake I think, especially since Iguchi is still very unproven.

I have a 'Nacy Faust's Favorites' cassette that i pick up at the garage sale last year...

Pods LF Iguchi, Castillo, Rollins IF Thomas, Everett DH PK 1B Dye RF Rowand CF Pyrz C Uribe IF Harris IF and assuming we dont sign a big name infielder... Pods LF Rowand CF Thomas, Everett DH PK 1B Dye RF Pyrz C Uribe SS Harris 2B Crede 3B

QUOTE(hi8is @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 06:47 PM) thats intresting... if it plays out that way, it would be ok with me... however, i think if crede has competition and has to "win" a starting job... he will, i think hes gonna have a simi-breakout year. You could say the same about Harris. Either way, we could sign a 3B, SS, or 2B, becasue of Uribe's versatility. I'd just prefer Harris starting, because he's shown more promise. If there needs to be a ST battle to figure out who starts, so be it. Competition can only be good for us.
-
IF we got Rollins, I'd prefer Uribe at 3B, Rollins at SS, and Willie at 2B over Willie sitting on the bench.

Cubs...Suck...23...? *Head explodes*

Just throwing out a thought... If maggs couldn't get anyone to sign him for a decent amount of cash, I wonder if the Sox may have pursued him if they hadn't acquired dye. I'm thinking $4-5 mil with incentives for 1 year. I'm not sure exactly how incentives are worked out, but we could give him some cash for games played, average, and homers. However, I'm pretty glad he isn't coming back now, so I'm not saying we should/ should have done this, just wondering if there was a possiblility of it happenning.
