Guess it was an oblique, but still I was closer lol.

Walker had an abdominal strain in college, not a hand injury as far I as know.

Sox Trade Nate Jones/INTL Slot to TEX for 2 Minor Leaguers

Castro is 22 and still in the DSL so he's probably not a real piece. Jarneski is 19 in the AZL and has pretty good numbers aside from a lot of walks. -
Colome remains with White Sox, who always had ample interest in him

Sox vs. Mets - Tues, July 30th, 2019

Thank god we played for the lefty-lefty matchup -
If Luis Robert wanted to play in the majors so badly he should have had the players association negotiate a better deal in November of 2016 several months before he signed with the White Sox. That's just bad business on his part.

Rutherford and Sheets back-to-back homers

The reason I'd want to make a Thor for Kopech trade is because I have no faith that the White Sox will go out and sign a top of the rotation starter like @Tony properly states is necessary. However, the main reason I'd want to not do the trade is because I don't have faith that the White Sox would competently fill the rest of the roster out to fully compete starting next year. Basically the White Sox have broken me and that's why default on anything that isn't trading Colome is just to hold off.

My bad, would be nice if the box score differentiated between the two at all lol.

Yogurt: 2/5 with a triple Bailey: 2/5 with a double Tatis even got in on the action with a 2/3 day with a walk.

I mean, sign me up for Domingo Santana. He'd be the best DH the White Sox have had since Dunn.

According to the article it's because they are "too left handed" in the OF. I can see that with Choo, Gallo, and Mazara. It also opens up a spot in the OF for Willie Calhoun...another 24 year old lefty with even bigger lefty/righty splits. I'd gladly take Shin-Soo Choo for a song if they really are just trying to clear out lefty bats.
-
Mazara has a career 103 wRC+ against right handers and just a 58 wRC+ against lefties. He's an average-ish defender in RF. He's a decent strong side platoon partner, but probably shouldn't be playing everyday. That said, if he could be had for Fry, Walker/Gonzalez, and maybe Jay as a replacement for this year I'd probably do it.

Will Luis Robert be the #1 Prospect in Baseball?
TomPickle replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in FutureSox Board
Franco is 4 months older than DJ Gladney and is slashing .342/.422/.534 in A+ with nearly 3 times as many walks as strikeouts. He's really good lol. -
He may be in the Moncada/Collins camp where he has discipline to the point where he's not swinging at borderline pitches and it's biting him. I would guess his K rates remain fairly steady through all levels of the minors and then he may have to make additional adjustments in the majors like Moncada did.

I guess if you squint Lewis Brinson's age 21 season that spanned A+, AA, and AAA is fairly comparable to Robert's season this year. The main difference being that Brinson spent the majority of his season A+. -

I think it's nice to have another viewpoint when it comes to prospects, especially one that doesn't have anything behind a paywall, but the FanGraphs rankings are just two guys. I think they like to see people in person, which makes perfect sense, but also leaves them with obvious biases for people they can see more easily. Eric saw Robert a lot last year and I think they're just stuck with that impression of him despite the fact that he might have the best set of tools in the minors and has to be the front-runner for Minor League Player of the Year this year. They try to cover the draft, international signings, and the team rankings and have just too small of a staff to be able to get eyes on everyone. -
Yogurt is up to a .323 BA now, though I guess it's pretty unlikely that he moves to another level this year. Maybe an AFL candidate?
-
I wanted Eloy up last year too, but at least that was more defensible because it was pretty clear 2019 wasn't going to be a competitive team.

In the depths of the minors, signs of progress

After last night's 2 HR game his wRC+ on the season is 200. He's been the most productive player in the minors this season and might also have the best tools in the minors. Can't wait until May 2020 to see him in the majors!

Being dismayed at how bad Robert is kicking your team's ass is the perfect opposing call imo

This is the opposing team's announcer lol
