  1. Can't wait to sign that 35 year old infielder.
  2. Hand had a lot more value than Colome so I'd say those packages would be pretty comparable.
  3. They also included Adam Cimber in that trade. That would be the equivalent of trading Colome and Bummer in a deal together. The bullpen would be as bad as the rotation if those two guys were both dealt. Though it may be worth it if they were to get a Sean Murphy or Drew Waters or someone on that level.
  4. Hope he was smart with his signing bonus.
  5. Madrigal played 5 games in the AZL and then jumped to Kanny. I'd imagine Vaughn is on a similar plan.
  6. Really feel bad for Burdi. Hard to see him having any kind of career after all these injuries.
  7. At what point do you think it makes sense to get Madrigal up to AAA? I think he's kinda the opposite of Robert in that I'd want him to get a decent number of ABs with the juiced ball to see if he can tweak his approach just a little bit to hit for more power. Whereas, I think Robert playing at a level and park that suppresses power is probably better for his development.
  8. He had a good spring and hasn't proven that he's not an MLB player like Goins and Escobar have. He's more intriguing at the very least even if he projects as more of a utility player too.
  9. The first game after the All-Star break is 15 days after the injury. It looks like a pretty run of the mill ankle to me, two weeks should hopefully be enough time.
  10. I get wanting to see Mendick more than Goins, but it is almost certainly going to be 8 games. I can't get worked up over that.
  11. They're not calling him up as the future SS. He's a stopgap while Timmy is on the IL. What does it matter what his future holds?
  12. Steele Walker for anyone so Tom Fornelli and James Feagan stop wasting time talking about his Instagram on their podcast.
  13. If we can get Foltynewicz to talk to Giolito's high school coach I'm fully on board.
  14. In 600 PAs A would make 36 fewer outs. The two closest lines I can find to these hypothetical batters Our good friend Avi Garcia represents A: .289/.347/.470, 119 wRC+, .345 wOBA Franmil Reyes for B: .244/.295/.525, 109 wRC+, .335 wOBA Both are above average hitters, but A slightly is a better hitter.
  15. Oh man, there has to be a section in the stands that dresses up like nerds and is called "The AV Club"
  16. Thompson signed earlier in the week and Dalquist should sign within the next few days.
  17. So full slot. I'm not sure why it would take this long, but it's not like it really matters either. Hopefully he starts playing games next week.
  18. he's got a pretty decent arm
  19. In my particular case, soxtalk joke.
  20. Okay, yeah. I'm an idiot. Similar to yogurt that was eligible for 2018 but just chose to wait to sign in 2019.
  21. The 2019 class is eligible to sign in less than 12 days so that seems like a typo/brain fart unless he doesn't mean it will take 12 months.
  22. He won't be eligible to sign until 2020.
  23. Since 5/31 Rutherford is slashing .390/.425/.451 He's a little younger than Madrigal, but he doesn't provide the speed and defense to make a .061 ISO work. If he repeats AA next year I'd hope for a ~.280 AVG and an ISO approaching .200.
  24. Okay, but they could just as easily do that while he's on the IL for a rehab assignment.
  25. You cropped out my comment about the picture highlight Vaughn's height. That hurts.
