Hinds' scouting report sounds a lot like Joey Gallo when he was a prospect.
-
Yeah, there doesn't seem to be, but can we still just keep talking about Robert anyway? It's more fun than about any other aspect of the White Sox org right now. How does he hit so many triples to left? I cannot wait to watch this guy every day.
-
Robert started 0/10 and is slashing (not including today) .342/.388/.595 since then. That would be tied for 4th best OPS in AA (min 80 PA) and after today's performance he'd be sitting at #2 I'm pretty sure. Yeah, he's not absolutely obliterating the league like he did with A+, but he might already be the best player in AA. I don't have a problem with him getting time in AAA, but if his line is still around that level at the All-Star break I'd rather he just come up and get a chance to prove himself at the big league level.

What are the chances Tommy Hunter from Michigan is available for the Sox in the third round? I'd like him for purely homer reasons and he actually fits the White Sox profile of recent drafts, but I wouldn't be too excited about him in the second round from an actual prospect standpoint.

The only bad decision the front office made with Avi was not trading him when he had value in 2017, but I can understand that because at that time maybe you would have been giving up too soon on a guy that truly was breaking out and you would have been getting 70 cents on the dollar. Avi has always been a tease. I don't care what he does in Tampa and was glad to see him go.

Obviously this is as far as Madrigal is capable of hitting a baseball and he will never have a home run.

Aside from absurd MLB Network comps, I would take a comp meaning that if a prospect 'hits' (say maybe 85th percentile outcome?) then their career would look not too dissimilar to the player they are comp'd too. Although most comps are stylistic/superficial. Like Yelich being a Rutherford comp because they were both skinny first round pick lefty outfielders. I don't really think there was much of a reason beyond just that. So I pretty much take them with an enormous grain of salt.

I swore off going to any games this season during my peak Machado anger and have so far had no problem staying true to that, but I think I'll end up going to one of the family games on a Sunday since my daughter has never been to a game. I was leaning the one in a few weeks against the Blue Jays to get a chance to see Vlad Jr and Eloy, but I don't think Eloy will be back by then even on an optimistic timeline. I'd go to Robert's debut if they called him up because I love him.

Uhh, what the hell? -
I would hate it, but it wouldn't really surprise me too much if Rustchman and Vaughn go 1-2.

This is his 7th game this year. If he doesn't get promoted after May I'd say it's okay to start b****ing, but the biggest thing for him is just to stay healthy and get ABs regardless of level.

AL Central is going to be the worst division in baseball again and the White Sox are going to lose 100 games again. -

Guaranteed Rate should have had the promo for paying off a month's mortgage to a fan for when the White Sox got swept. Would have gotten a lot more pub out of it. -
Pretty much the same, but my dad is from Mount Greenwood. Growing up in the 90s and having some solid teams and Frank Thomas didn't hurt either.
-
Either or even both could play everyday on this team.

So pinch hitting guys back-to-back that were a combined 1/37 on the season didn't work out. Huh.

I've always thought of Robert was fairly comparable to Byron Buxton as a prospect. I guess a grade better power and worse defense and arm. -

Didn't Robert have the best sprint speed in the Fall League last year? Not sure why his speed is only a 60. Unless speed is taking into account base running ability too? I've never really been sure. -

All I ask is that the game is over before Michigan-Texas Tech tips off tonight. -
Castillo is worse than Narvaez last year and McCann is a terrible backup C. Abreu bounces back to pre-2018 form Yolmer is the exact same player as last year Anderson too Moncada doesn't finish in the top 10 in baseball in K rate and is a borderline All-Star Eloy wins ROY Engel/Jay combine to be the worst CF in the MLB Palka turns into a pumpkin and hits ~.200 with 14 HRs before being sent down to AAA Alonso is a competent major leaguer Rodon stays mostly healthy, but doesn't take a step forward Lopez has similar ERA and W-L as last year, but his peripherals improve Giolito proves himself to be worthy of being in an MLB rotation Nova is approximately James Shields The 5th stater spot is awful until Cease gets the call in late August The bullpen is bad
