WILDCARD: 9/30 Sox at Astros, 4:00 PM CT
Either way it was a lead off double then a bunch on singles with a comedy of errors. They need to start hitting homers or they’re not gonna get it done.

The first inning was only great because the Astros went total clown show, no way they score 4 without that

Burke getting hit hard so far, contact wise. The HR was destroyed and Altuve just hit a laser off the wall.

I got my Sox hat on but we didn’t end up with the home plate tickets, I’m behind first base now. Guess someone more important got the prime seats.

Wouldn’t get any completed here either if not for a stadium with a roof on it.

lol I have the white beard but I’m more athletic than that guy. I’m rocking my 83 jersey with the bulls city connect hat. Sox have never lost a playoff game I’ve attended.

Will be in attendance for this one, our tickets are behind home plate. Would love nothing more than to celebrate a sweep and watch all these loser Astros fans sulk home.

Wild Card Round Discussion
Sounds like ill be going to game 2 so that's at least a good pitching matchup.

Proposal to the Board
Making the playoffs is infinitely better than watching a 100 loss season. In spirit of this thread, ill keep my actual thoughts about this team to myself.

9/16 White Sox - Guardians 6:10pm BST
This is a 70 win team disguised as a "contender" because of how bad the division is. That being said, would still happily watch playoff baseball over nothing even if they have no chance at the World Series. They still end the season with 6 games against the Royals and Rockies, its not over yet.

Bringing in your closer to get 4 outs in a game deciding 1st place is hardly a dumb move.

How are you feeling about the rebuild overall?
If you want to talk smoke and mirrors, were 32-16 VS. the Athletics and AL Central. Were 43-55 against everyone else in baseball. I get it, you have to play your schedule beating bad teams matters, but this team is incredibly lucky to not be about 67-79 right now which is about where we all expected them to be anyways.

Im not even sure they are trying to compete. If the deadline was an example of Chris Getz trying to go for it, I am extremely concerned. I sleep a little better telling myself that they know they have a lot of holes and are just staying the course and following a plan and if they end up winning the division and getting into the playoffs, that's great. If not, they didn't expect to be there anyways. But man, the way this team has been managed since the deadline and the moves they made at the deadline. If that was them going for it, holy s%*#, that inspires no confidence in me that they know what they are doing. That's why I tend to believe they are just happy accepting what happens this year and are sticking to their plan.

Good luck with that, the largest FA contract they have ever given to a pitcher is $54 million and that was to a reliever. They aren't signing a big time FA starting pitcher. They are going to have to trade from an area of strength to get what they need, and I think they should trade Miguel Vargas.
