  1. The 2024 season was terrible on so many levels. The 121 losses made this year seem like some great success, but I wonder how many people would have their tune changed if the 2024 team only lost like 105 games and we follow it up with another 100+ loss season. The 2024 season created a major false sense of massive leaps forward with this organization.
  2. Again, I agree with you overall about the optimal way to build a team. You should never let elite players leave, but the White Sox ARE cheap as s%*# so the reality is you watch them keep Crochet and let him walk away for a comp pick or you trade him for a high level package of prospects that could produce 3-4 contributors. The Sox aren't going to go out and sign a handful of 3-4 WAR players in free agency, hopefully this all changes once JR is out and well be talking about resigning the elite guys instead of shipping them out.
  3. This years team is probably going to lose 100 again. Its going to take another 20 game improvement next season just to get to .500. When you look at the roster currently, its likely were returning the same team next season. That's a pretty lofty ask for them to improve ANOTHER 20 wins, and would take steps forward by almost every single young player which probably isn't realistic. On the offensive side, there really isn't a lot of room to add someone without pushing out a young player. The pitching though is a disaster, how much money gets spent on that in the offseason? If not, you are relying on improvement from the staff we already have and a bunch of guys coming off of TJS.
  4. What you're saying isn't wrong in general but its definitely wrong in terms of the White Sox of today. The White Sox of today are never going to re-enforce the roster around that elite talent. If Teel and Montgomery become 3-4 WAR players with Meidroth a 2-3 WAR player and Gonzalez being a usable arm on the MLB team that is far more valuable to the Sox than a 6 WAR pitcher who is surrounded by underperformers, journeyman, or mid tier free agents. The Sox were never going to resign Crochet anyways, so you either get 4 chances to get good contributors to your team or you let him walk away and get 1 comp pick. So the jury is still out if it becomes a huge win, because it certainly could if all 4 of those guys pan out, but it will be a win regardless because there was never a chance the Sox were going to keep Crochet here and they pretty much got a max return for him.
  5. If this is supposed to be referring to me, my comment had nothing to do with the person. You had a poster LOL someone who was murdered over an opinion. That's scummy.
  6. His career year is literally present day Andrew Benintendi. A decent hitter who can’t play defense and is a 1war or less player. I don’t understand why everyone loves this guy.
  7. Maybe not, but if it’s .200 with 35-40 homers and an .800 OPS it’s not like that spells doom for you.
  8. The shine is starting to come off of Colson honestly, I don't know how successful he is going to be if he's a .200 hitter striking out 30%+ of the time. This is the critical time moving into next year to see him take a step forward and not back. Last 7 Days hitting .143 with a 52% K Rate Last 14 Days hitting .208 with a 43% K Rate Last 28 Days hitting .200 with a 32% K Rate
  9. Manny Ramirez had 5 and Thome had 7. How does that even get through fact checkers lol
  10. Meh, I still don't think he's magically great now but its always frustrating to see a high first round pick fail miserably for years and then as soon as he is given up on its like the light switched on.
  11. Vaughn was worth -1.8 on the Sox, currently sitting at 1.2 with the Brewers. A staggering difference of 3 WAR between the two stops. 48 Games W/ Sox - .189 / .218 / .531 (SO% 22.3 - BB% 3.6) 52 Games W/ Brewers - .307 / .368 / .865 (SO% 14.6 - BB% 8.0)
  12. There is 0% chance the Twins come anywhere close to besting the Sox 2024 season. Not only do they have a loaded farm system, they play in our crappy division and still have some good players on their roster.
  13. He's your pick or do you mean that as you think that's who they would go after, because I would be surprised if you were advocating to sign Houser to a legit SP contract this offseason. He was good here, but has an ERA pushing 5 since he got traded and will be 33 heading into next season. I would HATE to see them sign him to a legit contract and can't possibly see that working out.
  14. Yeah Cincinnati defense is awful but they may have the best offense in the league and are going to be extremely difficult to stop. San Francisco is definitely health dependent, but if healthy they are going to be pretty good.
  15. Not overall but their out of division road matchups are pretty brutal @ Washington (Primetime) @ Baltimore @ Cincinnati @ Philadelphia ("Prime"time-ish, get it.) @ San Francisco (Primetime) They get Dallas, New Orleans, New York Giants, Pittsburgh and Cleveland at home. Would have been nice to have some of those tougher matchups be at home.
  16. 7 to 9 wins seems right, I would probably lean towards the higher end of that as of today. I think they'll beat Vegas, New Orleans, New York and Cleveland. Toss up for Dallas, Washington, and Pittsburgh. I don't think they'll beat Baltimore, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Assume they go 3-3 in the division.
  17. BB% is at 6.5% currently, and surprisingly K% is only 27.7 which just by eye test I would have thought was higher since I feel like I see him K a lot. He will naturally start walking more if he keeps up with this power potential as more people start opting to not pitch to him in certain scenarios.
  18. I would love to see more internal options used for next season in regards to the bullpen.
  19. If that means some dumb team will trade a prospect for him, sign me up.
  20. I have zero faith in this team, and won’t for probably several more years. Congrats on 49 wins bud, I’m sure it must feel great to flex that one 😂
  21. While both teams are probably really happy, the White Sox got 4 players, three of which are contributing to the ML roster and the other is flying up the prospect rankings. Whenever you can trade 1 player you have no intentions to keep for 4 players who will be here for several years it’s a massive win.
  22. They would need to go 15-12 the rest of the way to avoid 100 losses. Bet your house Greg, they’re losing 100+.
  23. Im willing to bet he had some ridiculous ask that he refused to budge from, which should have been the Dylan Cease move not the Luis Robert of today move. If they were willing to send money, but then altered it or took it off the table, that just gives more credibility to the fact they would rather save money than get something done I think.
