  1. I honestly wouldn't mind sticking Kelenic somewhere in the OF for the entire year and see what happens, he's only 26 I wish they had the balls to DFA Benintendi and get him the f*** out of here
  2. Well, if its the Robert of the last 2 years I wouldnt mind playing against him.
  3. I didn't mean Robert specifically, I just meant I don't get how teams balk at including money in a trade if they're just going to pay him that money anyways if they don't trade them. I don't even know if that's even true in this case, but if it was like I said it makes no sense.
  4. Ill never understand this, if you keep him you are paying him anyways. "Well give you X and X but you need to pay $10 million of his salary" "Wow, hard pass, well just keep him and pay all $20 million, thanks."
  5. Just based off yours, and going by what players currently are.. The IF looks nice, less Vargas (still don't believe in that guy) The OF is awful. Quero as DH is less than ideal, he doesn't have enough power. The pitching is also pretty bad. Shane Smith and a bunch of ?'s in the rotation and a bullpen with just as many questions and no nails guy for late game. Still looks like a roster that will be losing 90+ games next season as of today.
  6. The sad reality is Luis Robert is a $20 million dollar player whose riding 2 straight years of injury filled sub level value. It shouldn’t be surprising at all the Sox are ready to move on as well as getting mediocre offers from other teams. The arrow is way down on this guy now, I think we’ll ultimately look at the trade return and lament what could have been.
  7. Its actually a little lower than 15% since this only went through 2023 so you then include 2023 100 Loss Teams: White Sox, Royals, A's, Rockies 2024 100 Loss Teams: White Sox, Marlins, Rockies 2025 100 Loss Teams: White Sox, Rockies Out of those 9 instances, only the Royals (Over .500 in 2024) accomplished it and that was with going 12-1 against the hapless White Sox. So its probably anywhere from 10-15% chance it happens, which obviously is not great.
  8. No, this team will not be competitive in 2026. It would take a historical event for this team to be competitive in the true sense of the term. What is the average win total for those teams the following season? Through the end of the 2025 season, teams posted an average win total of 68 the year after losing 100 games. How many teams finished the season after they lost 100 or more games with a record above .500? Of the 91 teams with 100 or more losses from 1961-2023, 13 finished the next season above .500:
  9. Finally something good happens, this is a pleasant surprise in a dull uneventful offseason so far!
  10. What in the world? Lenyn Sosa was literally the least valuable regular on this roster, what do you mean find better players around him? He is the bad player lol.
  11. Great post, especially bullet #2. Im pretty sure Lenyn Sosa is the greatest 1 war player in White Sox history at this point.
  12. The post I quoted said "If anyone doesn't see 2025 as a positive then I don't know what to tell ya." I explained why people aren't seeing it as a positive, losing 102 games and having a stretch where they played at a 90-95 loss pace isn't something a lot of people are going to feel positive about for the long term future of the team.
  13. People don't see it as a positive because people are basically saying "They weren't the worst team of all time again, I don't understand why you guys are complaining." A .419 winning percentage sucks, is it better than the worst all time? Absolutely. Is it acceptable, or something im going to pump my first about? Nope.
  14. The Sox went 60-102, that's an awful season. I voted D only because the majority of the young players looked promising, but it could EASILY be an F. Sorry, but the bar isn't set at "Don't be the worst team of all time again."
  15. The thing to remember is Chris Getz 100% deserved to be fired with the rest of the clown show back in 2023 and somehow was promoted instead.
  16. I wouldn't call it a hot take, but this season was largely filled with awful baseball. The realization of the core failing did suck, but ill take watching an 81-81 team over a 100+ loss team every time. That's playoff race territory.
  17. If by that they mean its less awful than the worst season in baseball history, sure Ill agree with that.
  18. Well yeah, in general terms they have players that would be valuable if they traded but I meant more like assets to be used to improve the team. I don't expect they would trade any of Quero, Smith, or Taylor even though I think they should absolutely trade Quero for an OFer or SP upgrade of equal value. Give Teel the job and end this rotating nonsense.
  19. They have nothing of value to realistically trade.
  20. I think it's going to be inactive. They really need pitching, but I don't see them addressing that through big FA spending. The uncertainty around 2027 also probably leads to some hesitancy. If you try to make the optimal offense with what we have and how we think they operate, it looks something like this. C - Teel / Quero / Lee 1B - Sosa 2B - Meidroth SS - Montgomery 3B - Vargas LF - OPEN CF - Robert RF - Tauchman DH - Benintendi / Quero / Teel They really need to get more power onto this team whether that be putting Benintendi at DH and getting a LFer or leaving Benintendi in LF and getting a DH. Outside of that, there really is nowhere to add to the offense without exploring an interesting trade. You also have the possibility of Braden Montgomery forcing his way into the OF picture at some point, but I could also see a Tauchman DFA at some point making that move doable. As far as pitching goes, they need so much improvement there. We have a number of guys coming back from injury that should be ready to get a look and also Schultz and Smith probably make their debuts at some point. They have 3 guys on this entire roster that were able to make 20+ starts, all with ERA's over 4.00. They may need to add up to 3 reliable SP's as well as some bullpen pieces and that's asking for a lot if were talking about meaningful additions. A rotation of Smith, Martin, Burke, Cannon, and Gomez with pretty much the same offense returning seems like a recipe for another 100 loss season barring EVERY young player taking another step forward, which, is not likely.
  21. He's just taken the complete wrong approach to this season. It's like some mandate that you need to push "Were so much better than last year." There were several times over this season where if you only listened to the broadcast and had no knowledge of last season or current standings, you would think this team was a contender. I am already prepared for these final 9 games to be hammered with "The Sox need to go X - X to avoid 100 losses" right down to the wire. If they get swept by San Diego, it'll be "Alright Steve, the Sox need to finish 6-0 to avoid 100 losses a tall task but this isn't last years team!" Like who cares, 95 losses, 100 losses, it's a miserable season no matter what. Push something else.
  22. I like Stone, I think he has a wealth of baseball knowledge and I enjoy listening to him talk about baseball. He's definitely a grumpy old man at this point. I don't know what the point of the food in the booth spotlight is, but anytime that happens Steve pretty much says it looks like the worst thing ever and refuses to try it, quite the advertising if that's what they are going for. I never liked Benetti, mainly because of how corny he was, but Schriffen just takes it to another level. Whether that be referencing Vargas' hand placement for months on end even after his streak cooled way off and he wasn't producing, calling plays like they are clutch moments in the playoffs during a game where the Sox were totally non competitive, the whole lady and the tramp bit (cringe), or when they were in Seattle talking about that space needle walk and Schriffen literally says "No chance, you couldn't get me to do that." and then about 10 seconds later "Alright guys, if you pay for me ill do it."
  23. This post along with WestEddys about Schriffen bragging over a solo home run that brings a score to 7-1 are both excellent points on why this guy is so annoying. You put off a lot of people when you are broadcasting to the fanbase like they are a bunch of idiots.
