LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Well Getz alluded to the money being redeployed so we may all remain safe for now.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
I’m interested to hear from all the people who said they had money to work with and they wouldn’t carry such a low payroll. You have to imagine if that were true they don’t make this trade.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
This is JR we’re talking about here, you think he’s just going to give away $2 million when they can dump all of it for nothing?
-
LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Hopefully in a few years JR is gone, Getz is fired, and this organization is finally run like a real baseball team.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
The return is awful, yet, it’s still better than nothing.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
Should have traded him after 2023 when the plug got pulled. What a colossal blunder. Never in a million years would I have thought he would end up in an awful salary dump trade one day.

LUIS ROBERT TRADED
No one should be shocked here, Robert hasn’t been good in years and makes $20 million a year.

White Sox claim C Drew Romo off waivers, DFA Ben Cowles
Man, I went and looked at the 40 man roster this morning in preparation for a post and saw that guy on there and also said "who the f*** is Ben Cowles?" Same for Tanner Murray, no idea who that guy is or where he came from. Must have missed that add.

Streamer 600 Projections
They are going to need someone from the OF to be good or I don't see how this is possible. I think the IF has a chance to be a really strong unit, especially if all the young guys take another step forward. We probably have the worst OF in baseball though as it currently stands.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
To clarify, Robert had a great 15 game stretch in July and then from August until the end of his season went right back to being .256 / .287 / .690 At this point, if he becomes valuable again it would be a pleasant surprise but I have pretty much lost all hope with this guy which is incredibly sad.

I mean we've literally been trying to do this for 2 straight seasons now, you know what they say about the definition of insanity....

Latest Benetti news...
Benetti is god awful at baseball, but I have heard him call some football games and it was pretty enjoyable.

White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
Yeah, like I said it was weird

White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
That clip is a little out of context, even though it was still a weird thing to say. He was basically saying that his kid passed away and it really affected his play. Again, weird thing to bring up but he wasn't like "Jean Segura, his kid died" end of statement.

White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
I guess? None of those options are inspiring in the least so saying far better seems like a bit of a stretch.

White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
If they trade Robert, there's really not much better alternatives. And if he is terrible, so what cut him and try something else.
-
White Sox sign Jarred Kelenic, non-roster invite
I honestly wouldn't mind sticking Kelenic somewhere in the OF for the entire year and see what happens, he's only 26 I wish they had the balls to DFA Benintendi and get him the f*** out of here

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Well, if its the Robert of the last 2 years I wouldnt mind playing against him.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
I didn't mean Robert specifically, I just meant I don't get how teams balk at including money in a trade if they're just going to pay him that money anyways if they don't trade them. I don't even know if that's even true in this case, but if it was like I said it makes no sense.
-
Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
Ill never understand this, if you keep him you are paying him anyways. "Well give you X and X but you need to pay $10 million of his salary" "Wow, hard pass, well just keep him and pay all $20 million, thanks."

OD 26 Man Roster Projection
Just based off yours, and going by what players currently are.. The IF looks nice, less Vargas (still don't believe in that guy) The OF is awful. Quero as DH is less than ideal, he doesn't have enough power. The pitching is also pretty bad. Shane Smith and a bunch of ?'s in the rotation and a bullpen with just as many questions and no nails guy for late game. Still looks like a roster that will be losing 90+ games next season as of today.

Robert Thread: Sox talking to Reds, Mets
The sad reality is Luis Robert is a $20 million dollar player whose riding 2 straight years of injury filled sub level value. It shouldn’t be surprising at all the Sox are ready to move on as well as getting mediocre offers from other teams. The arrow is way down on this guy now, I think we’ll ultimately look at the trade return and lament what could have been.

Can the this team be competitive in 2026?
Its actually a little lower than 15% since this only went through 2023 so you then include 2023 100 Loss Teams: White Sox, Royals, A's, Rockies 2024 100 Loss Teams: White Sox, Marlins, Rockies 2025 100 Loss Teams: White Sox, Rockies Out of those 9 instances, only the Royals (Over .500 in 2024) accomplished it and that was with going 12-1 against the hapless White Sox. So its probably anywhere from 10-15% chance it happens, which obviously is not great.

Can the this team be competitive in 2026?
No, this team will not be competitive in 2026. It would take a historical event for this team to be competitive in the true sense of the term. What is the average win total for those teams the following season? Through the end of the 2025 season, teams posted an average win total of 68 the year after losing 100 games. How many teams finished the season after they lost 100 or more games with a record above .500? Of the 91 teams with 100 or more losses from 1961-2023, 13 finished the next season above .500:

White Sox win draft lottery, will pick #1 in 2026
Finally something good happens, this is a pleasant surprise in a dull uneventful offseason so far!
